Payments for this week have been sent. Here's the payment transaction: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/d16610fca378cd2a38eb99c91d969ade551228129f1c0ff850c94bd65a3bb0a5

I'm changing to Segwit aswell.

New adress,
Code:
bc1qmqz93sjvdxdnnacplrgn0lzun05tzjumklnlnp

I can't sign a message from my previous adress, as it belonged to Poloniex.com, however if you want i'd be able to sign a message from one of my adresses i staked months ago.

Updated, thanks for making the switch.

That's my SegWit contribution. I moved the funds from the non SegWit address to the SegWit address, which should be a confirming factor.

Updated, thanks for making the switch. For future reference, this is the transaction that sweeps all non SegWit funds.

Here's my signed message for an update to my address:

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
Not even the more popular block explorers seem to allow me to look for my address. Roll Eyes

I am new to segwit and became confused today about if the address should or shouldn't show up, it turns it was just block explorers not being up to date with things, but the good news is I found out you can use btc.com to look for bech32 addresses, I tried my address and it shows up so it seems to be working fine?
I am not entirely certain on this, but if you put in the legacy version of a segwit address (changing a "bc1" or "3" at the beginning to a "1").
As old daemon wallet versions are supposed to be able to handle transactions ONCE THEY ARE CONFIRMED. Though it would depend on the architecture of the block explorer and may return a " can't decode output/input/transaction error"

No worries, it will only become a requirement either never, or some time after Bitcoin Core supports it in a new version.
encouraging people to use SegWit is good but using it should always be optional. it was opt-in after all.
True, but is there any reason not to use it? Not really, given that nested addresses are backwards compatible, and offer almost the same benefits as bech32. Either way, it probably won't become an requirement.
I disagree with that. You should slowly force adoption for the sake of the network. This campaign is optional for people, Segwit doesn't have to be. For example, today is the last day that I allow legacy addresses.

It's a shame that barely any service has adopted Segwit yet.
Encapsulated Segwit support != bech32 support. Even Core does not have many of the features for bech32 (e.g. sign/verify message) and most of the software is directly using it or based on it.

I have updated Electrum, and have directly generated myself a Segwit address to be part of the Segwit squad. Cool

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
Sure, signing with the old address is optional, especially if your account is not in the seclog (and it isn't), but it's fun. Gives your post that little bit of a personal touch.  Cool

That's why I'll choose the more troublesome way of switching to a segwit address: 3F981FK189zWFA9fB2oMLs7dVtcGeFJBj3

Ok. I'll give Segwit a whirl too. This is my new address - 37d1ZQVYmxVSrweXcyioyPgxNv1cZDrbgq

I can't be arsed to sign the old one so you'll have to assume I haven't been hijacked. And it's my problem anyway.

Don't see any red flags, so address updated. Thanks for making the switch!

If most exchanges and wallet developers enable segwit address, and everyone willing to use it, we won't end with over 154K unconfirmed transactions on the mempool. Hopefully, more people aware of this matter.

I've been wanting to use SegWit for a while now, but Bitcoin Core doesn't have native support yet.
Build the current master and you will have both SegWit (default) and bech32 if you want to.

No worries, it will only become a requirement either never, or some time after Bitcoin Core supports it in a new version. If you want to switch now though, I believe you can build from master on the repo which has the planned SegWit additions merged already.
Note: when using SegWit, you can no longer sign messages from that address.

You can sign a message if you use a native Segwit bech32 address. Of course to verify it someone will need to be using a wallet that supports these. Hopefully, Core will not make us wait too much longer for 0.16.0.

Soon™. Plan seems to be for May 1, 2018 at the latest, but will probably be earlier.

I too would like to update my BTC address to a SegWit enabled one.

First, amazing job on selecting participants and pruning the members of this campaign.  I actually took the time to check out the members’ posts, and I’m amazed at the post quality of the majority of the members here Smiley
I use ChipMixer's signature as an indicator of posts that are worth reading.
