2 great coins I don't even know which one is better ! On them alone can be create and to store tokens but NEM still is used in as a transactions in Japanese banks !
If choosing between those I would pick NEM instead of EOS ... Because NEM is separate platform coin with already developed gui wallets, where you can earn % for holding NEM. EOS is a token based on ETH
I think both is good but i prefer for EOS to make an investment, although this token now is so affordable. Both tokens are promising and worth for holding.
Both have their strength and I feel the OP should decide what they want, I don't know what the OP is particularly looking for. EOS is more centralised platform but with a better transaction speed than NEW, NEW is more decentralised, the community is not as strong as EOS and the list go on.
EOS is better because it is not realize its potential. I think NEM died half a year ago and it doesn’t attrach the attention anymore.

By far the NEM. It has a working debugged platform, will soon release a catapult, which will give even more opportunities and speed. And EOS is a raw product, and launching your project on EOS is very expensive. And the problems with it a lot, as they say.

I don't know what NEM is, but I know EOS. Do you mean to publish your own coin with EOS's main chain or NEM's main chain? As mentioned above, I only know EOS, so I definitely recommend you use EOS.

I would start from NEM problems and then we will decide what is better EOS or NEM.
Main problems of NEM are:
-NEM primarily focuses on corporations, not on traditional ICO projects (EOS is)
-It has low transaction fee: at the moment, the project has artificially lowered its tps to 2 transactions per second (vs >1000tps of EOS)
So, for traditional ICOs and usual traders EOS is better and it is clearly seen.
