No worries, it's not just football. The same goes with basketball and other sports where players or fighters (boxing) are also looking for that big paycheck.

Why? Because there are no retirement funds for them. Once they go 40 years old or maybe even below that age, they might not have a job to get and they have been used to a life of luxury which means what they will make at that age through sponsors, commercials, or advertisements won't suffice to the lifestyle they lived in. They need that big paycheck so they can still afford it when they are not playing anymore.
And that is a super fact. Imagine being on their feet and you might understand. Also, one injury could end their career.

Observation - It’s been going on as a gossip or will I say argument.
That players of nowadays are more focus on making money rather than playing for passion like the old days.

I also can strongly say that passion for football ends in Ronaldo and Messi ERA.

So many headlines has been flying around, about players either wanting to change clubs because they want to secure a huge paycheck. While others still in their current club demanding a pay rise to a new contract.

The Saudi Arabia side has now made it more obvious by opening the door to players who are more interested in money than passion to come in.

I need more clarity on this matter, which is the reason I brought it on here.

It seems to me that passion and desire to have fun in gambling and passion in big sports are very different things. I think that a football player who plays with pleasure, loves football and literally can not think about anything except football, is a great player who will achieve great results, which we see in the example of Messi and Ronaldo. But those who came to football for the sake of big money will never be able to play so well. But in gambling, any goal, be it money or fun, will ultimately lead to trouble. Because gambling or betting should be nothing more than a small hobby.

i do not think wanting to get a higher salary is an indication of not being passionate enough about the sport even ronaldo and messi had high, if not the highest salaries. it is only normal for an athlete or anyone really to want to feel valued this is their source of income anyway and sometimes the higher the pay the better they play and it is because they feel that they are welcomed and appreciated in the club

Football has long been a game played by amateurs, fans of this sport. But now football is a sport where every football player dreams of earning good money first. I would compare it to military service, where every soldier dreams of becoming a general. But what's wrong with that? Talented football players, those who sign expensive contracts, are obliged to show all their skills. If there are none, then there will be no millions for which countries buy them. And anyone who starts playing football, starting from a child, always carries the idea of leadership. I would say that this quality should be present in any athlete. If there is no talent, then they will always sit on the reserve bench.

Do you think the players just like to play in those top European leagues clubs? The players are chasing good career so that they can play in those good clubs. If they are not chasing career, they could just stay in the country league if it is about passion. There is nothing like passion when it comes to money, but the players can enjoy playing in the clubs they are.

That players of nowadays are more focus on making money rather than playing for passion like the old days.

Actually this happens in almost every sport, whether it’s football, basketball, or boxing. That’s just how things are now.

They’ll never outright say it’s all about the money, but as we've both seen, their choices usually come down to whoever offers the biggest paycheck. Take boxing, for example - if a promoter has a lot riding on a fighter, they’ll make sure he avoids matchups where the odds aren’t in his favor.. Even if the fighter believes he can win the promoter knows better because they’re protecting their investment. They’ll carefully pick his opponents to ensure he keeps winning and his value keeps rising.

That’s why so many fans these days are frustrated. They want to see the best fights, but they don’t get them because the matchups don’t fit the promoters’ agenda.
