October is comming to an end in 4 days, anyone received their Trezor yet?

I'm pretty sure they haven't shipping anything yet, if they did, we would know about it. I understand that they are being quiet and don't want to be like BFL (two more weeks), but any news would be better than radio silence at this point.

I agree, I wanna buy one but the price is currently ridiculous.

Will get one when you can get it for a reasonable price

October is comming to an end in 4 days, anyone received their Trezor yet? i am talking about the Metallic Batch.
please make a unboxing video, demo of it if you can.  Smiley

Trezor should seriously consider changing they device "pricing" to USD/Euros instead of keeping it at 1BTC or 3 BTC,
if and only if they want to sell more of their device because the value of BTC just rocket up to 200$ each.
This is now officially overprice at 3btc value at 200$ each. total = $600

right now there is no competition for Trezor so they dont feel pressure but i am very sure in the future Trezor would meet their rival. better, safer, more reasonable pricing, easier to use.

i just dont feel like this is worth the money right now, there are other methods we can do for the cheap.

let's have some fun
So tell me why should I spend so much for a plastic Trezor - sorry, but I simply do not see any advantage than 'it's new' and collectors may pay 1.x BTC in the future.
Maybe it would be useful while you travel knowing you can plug it into someones computer, log onto blockchain.info and safely use your BTC. Offline wallets aren't for everyone and not everyone can affort two computers.

Therefore it is indeed useful.
Currently I'm just not used to spend huge amounts in BTC while I'm traveling.
And as nerd my Laptop is part of my body, so more or less always available  Cheesy

Get me right, I'd buy this nice, innovative piece of hw immediately as soon as it's heading for the mass market with cheaper price, until then it is not worth the coins for *me* as I'm using offline wallets for big amounts. Beside this I do neither want to spend huge amounts of btc (prefer holding them), nor do I need access to them while I'm away.

With a Trezor I'd still stick to offline wallets as they cannot be lost, nor stolen in crowded situations like public transport at rush hour.
Just keep in mind with more public awareness, your Trezor might attract criminals.

but, but,... the trezor is a computer. Does not compute.

If price remains that high for a plastic Trezor, for sure it will never reach the main stream.

The price isn't that high for something that will keep your bitcoins, I guess when you have a very small amount you don't see the value. Plus this is one of the first of it's kind, so you kinda paying to make history.

Let´s compare it to the FIAT world:

You own 1000$ - no need for a tresor just put them in your wallet

You own 500000$ - can´t put them in your wallet because it won´t fit  Wink Would you buy an ultra safe tresor for 200$ to protect this amount?

You won´t get one for 200$ that is safe enough to protect that amount of money.

I admit there's no other hw device with comparable functionality.

And you have to admit you can secure your BTC for free:
Huge BTC amounts I'd simply put into an armory offline wallet (old laptop).
Small amounts on my mobile, medium amounts on my laptop. Backups for each.

So tell me why should I spend so much for a plastic Trezor - sorry, but I simply do not see any advantage than 'it's new' and collectors may pay 1.x BTC in the future.

Stupid bfl is launching one right after this
Speculating or real?

2 weeks later(TM)

Would you trust a closed source hardware wallet from BFL?
No answer needed.

I remember me BFL had the plan to develop such a hardware wallet device but maybe they have not the deep knowledge for it or the release date then would be 2024 because it is mucher more complicated as the design of SHA-256 hash operations. Cheesy

Even as person involved in btc I never considered paying *that much* for such piece of hw as Armory serves all my security needs for free.
Just image you had to pay the same for a tan-generator, do you really think online-banking would have made it ?

I'd pay up to $15 for plastic, $25 for metal case version - so a fraction of 1BTC, but that's it.
And I'm involved in btc and might could make use of it from time to time...

Using Trezor with Blockchain.info will make Bitcoin usable for mainstream without having to turn everyone into security experts or how to run Bitcoin!
That is great news!

It's getting toward the end of October, is the plan still to begin shipping Trezors this month?
Any news ? I don't expect to have them right now, but any information will be fine.
