Bitcoin-QT doesn't support this?

Hmmm...

Well, I'll buy one when they are ready to ship at least.  I'm kind of tired of pre-ordering things though.  Wink

Will there be by the time you ship or is there already a Bitcoin client which supports the functionality of Trezor?

I'm going to be working on adding Trezor support to MultiBit over the (northern hemisphere) summer.
How long it actually takes to do is a bit unknown as there are various elements that need completing.

Cool.

Is armory standalone yet? Or a light version of it?

CNC milling is very suitable method of producing the small batches and prototype producing, yes its expensive but we are prepared for special requirements from customers... in future :-) its very flexible technology for more pssibilities....
Aluminium casting... :-) this technology is known and can be used, if quantity of metal type demands will be suitable for this..but its not only this way, may be amorf fluid steel is future will be better :-)
Best way of produce in big qtyties is plastic model.. expensive mold form (the covers are extremly thickness) but cheap covers:-)

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Did you check for aluminum casting? Depending on production volume, it should be much much cheaper than milling

Yes, but the price for the casting mold is around 20000 EUR. :-/

Don't use casting, use extrusion.  It comes out moar shiny that way.

Just ordered mine.  Please don't forget to include a brmlab sticker!   Cool

Congrats
Remember you are paying for steel AND getting it earlier. Having said that, I got the plastic one, to me even $100 is very expensive but its cool and I want to support them.
Hope blockchain wallet is supported

Congrats guys on launching the presale!
The video is terrific.

A few questions:

1. Will you add multisig capabilities in the future?
2. Is there an updated technical spec? Can you create a wiki page for Trezor?
3. Where is the code? This github repo (yours, I assume) only contain the website.

One thing you can do is get a casting mold in china and bring it back to US for production. Your mold should be approx 5X cheaper. I know it is more trouble though...

Where does the $200 price difference come from?

Metal CNC milling is much more expensive process than the plastic mold casting.

Still hard to believe that the simple metal case costs twice as the plastic case + PCB + electronics + the embedded software... Esp. when produced en masse. Would buy aluminium Trezor for 1.5 ... 2 BTC at most.

CNC milling is a very expensive method. The best way is to find an aluminum molding chinese supplier. This need volume though and quality is hard to control.
I would have definitely contacted Yifu about this.

Congrats Trezor !

You did a impressive work on the prototyping, designing, and aswell on the communication (website, vidcast). You managed this project very well. So I directly ordered the metallic version to support your great work and the time you spend on that.
I hope you have other projects in your mind. I'm sure it's only the beginning of a gamechanger (this or future projects) in Bitcoin.

To the ones who are bitching on the price, seriously, this is rude.

For two things:
- The work they do
- We are talking about 1 BTC right?

Is that all they deserve?
