Well well well , it seems VP is really a strong team right ? Taking 1 map away from Spirit and almost got them in 2nd map as well is huge for a team who had to use regional qualifiers in order to make it to TI. More than this , it's been quite some years since VP had a good run in TI and I do hope they will manage to surprise all of us and win map 3 and send Spirit in lower bracket  Grin
Yeah, VP proved many of us wrong that they deserve the upper bracket and they have given such fights against Team Spirit but still they ended up losing and will be now part of the lower bracket. I've been thinking the former roster of VP and comparing it to now but I'd say both roster are great and strong and you seem to be right with that prediction that VP might be able to snatch a game from Team Spirit because they just did it on game 1.

But the most hype match for today TL  vs talon is starting! im rooting hard for talon today and hope they finally beat liquid on a big stage
I am eyeing for Talon on this match but they lose the first game. They're on the 2nd map now and KDA are just close to each other. 11-11 TL/Talon. I can't comprehend their heroes if late game-wise because it seems that both of them will be able to push the game into a late one. Luna for TL as their carry and terror blade for Talon as their carry. There's also storm for TL while Zeus for Talon.

VP are definitely to look out for in the lower bracket!

They won map  1 without a sweat and arguably  should have won map  2 as well,

They went with a spectre + wraith king +  muerta draft which looked scary but didnt work out.
Double radiance looked to be too much of an investment with not much return sadly.

Spirit vs VP and I have a feeling that VP will snatch 1 map from TS and push the series to 3 maps.
You're right on this one, 2nd map was just done and Team Spirit won that while the first map was won by VP. The first map was one sided but the 2nd one, it's so close at the beginning up to the end. When Team Spirit was trying to push for the first time at the bottom barracks of Dire, larl did a throwing move of forcing inside and then they got wiped out. I thought that VP was already on the lead on that mistake larl did because they're all out and killed after a few seconds. Bottom barracks of Team Spirit was instead destroyed but still, they're the TI champs and they won't be called one if they can't do a come back. Mid and bottom barracks of Radiant(Team Spirit) were all megas but then, they did managed to comeback and clutch although the team fights were close to being wipe for each other's side. This also shown on who yatoro is, his Muerta was just there standing hitting all of them, that physical damage he attributed was painful. Now, waiting for the 3rd and last match, the decider match on who's staying at the upper bracket and will go to the lower.

I completely missed the group stage of IEM Sydney, not used to the difference from the usual EU/NA tournaments match time. Seems we got some upsets and interesting results there: Vitality not winning a single match, also BetBoom and Complexity made it to playoffs. Must be caused by CS2 and MR12 changes.

The odds for today's playoff matches are interesting, almost equal with ENCE and Complexity as the slight favorite. Guess the market still have a lot of uncertainty with the teams performance in CS2. I'll bet on ENCE and BetBoom, my first CS2 watching experience will be enjoyable.

Faze clan beat Navi in lack luster fashion when I had a glance of the final rounds of the third map. They were up 9-7 and took the pistol round so went on too their 11th round. So you would think they would easily finish it off with only 1 round to go. But Navi took the next 3 rounds.
Yeah kinda expected since S1mple had to be substituted by B1ad3. Actually quite surprised they are still able to win some maps against FaZe and Mouz
I had also missed the playoff matches yesterday because of the timezone difference. Just as I was going to bed I saw BetBoom was just taking the stage to go up against Complexity. They lost when i got up to head out to work.
Actually both teams went a solid 2-0 with Faze taking out ENCE in similar fashion so now we have the outline on how the semis will playout for tomorrow:
G2 vs Complexity
MOUZ vs Faze

Then the Grand Finals come Sunday or very early in the morning Saturday for those who are also in the Americas timezone.

Ohh , long have we waited this day bro ? DOTA 2 IS BACK <3 !
Spirit vs VP and I have a feeling that VP will snatch 1 map from TS and push the series to 3 maps.
Liquid vs Talon , ez 3 maps right ? 23savage will find a way to win at least 1 map.
LGD vs 9 Pandas should be the game of the night where really anything can happen between these 2 teams.
Nouns vs Azure Ray , is that type of the series where the underdog kinda beats the favorite right ?
Bring it on! It has been along time so we are all ready for it.

Talon once again proved to be the kryptonite of GG because even if GG won first map , Talon did a comeback and won the series by 2-1 and pushed GG into Lower Bracket. Now , I honestly think GG will be eliminated on the next series against EG ( even if EG looks awful right now and some changes would do good to them ).

Today , a lot of great games in front of us and we might have a lot of surprises today as so far we only got 1 with VP eliminating TSM.
TSM hasn't been what they were just a few months ago and from what everybody else has been witnessing so far in this TI tournament, Team Spirit seemed to have replaced them as the team to beat now.

Some big money going into them finally dropping a map seems to be the play going forward in this tournament.

Worlds swiss stage day 2 is less then 12 hours away and there are some juicy same region rivalry matchups

The draw was held today and most of the matches were same region rivalries drawn against each other,
The fans reactions were quite funny, as they were overjoyed when lpl teams were drawn against each other and shocked when same thing happened to lck teams  Grin
The same thing goes for a few LCS and LEC teams. Each major region will be forced to shed blood against their brethren to go up in the standings.  Tongue

I'm surprised the bookies have BDS and MAD this close when BDS should be the favorites. BDS played well against JDG yesterday, even though they lost, and MAD looked less impressive after losing against Cloud9. I'll take BDS over MAD any day when they're more likely to disappoint again.

The playoffs are expected, which will feature very interesting matches, many of which seem easy to predict. Despite all this, I want to bet on some underdogs in the playoff match. I am sure that the surprises that we could see in the group stage will continue. Talon, 9P, nouns can surprise and the odds for the victories of these teams make me happy.

The Chinese, at all times, have lost a little when their opponents play non-standardly, because they themselves almost always play by default, so the nouns have a good chance of winning. Talon is very viscous, it is very difficult to understand what they will choose at the peak stage, in general, the original team, it feels like they can beat anyone.

I can't wait for the main event to start for the TI. The first match is just a day and a few hours left for it to start. And it's Team Spirit and Virtus.Pro and TS is like the most sought team that shall take this year's aegis.

I am recognizing how strong they are and they're in a winning streak since the group stages. While VP managed to get into the upper bracket, their line up and experience can't be compared against the former TI champs, Team Spirit.

So, for the very first game tomorrow it's for Team Spirit and they are what I think that's likely to win and will proceed to Upper Bracket Semifinals.

League of legends WORLDS 2023 swiss stage is finally starting tomorrow!

After a long wait there are 8 Best of 1's scheduled tomorrow,  there are some pretty one sided matchups as expected.

Personally im liking the odds on MAD  lions, DPlus kia  and KT rolster as i dont think mad or KT should be 2+ odds
I agree with the MAD and KT Rolster leans. Both have good odds when they're on the same level as their opponents and might depend on the side that gets the better picks.

IMO, the DK match is a toss-up because we already saw how well G2 held up against the best LCK and LPL teams during the MSI. DK should win, but I wouldn't count out G2 if they can get a good draft going.

This is what I don't quite like about the MR12 format. It does seem to be shorter and highly unlikely to produce exciting CS battles with overtime.

While we're off for a few days with Dota 2 games. Who is watching now the match on CS2 - IEM Sydney, Lynn Vision against Cloud 9? C9 took 2 maps against LV.
Also live now is ENCE and Fnatic.
Saw a bit of these Intel Masters series late Sunday evening since they are Australia it was Monday morning.
Watched the trailer for this tournament it being the first major to transition to full source 2:

Yeah, they started yesterday and now there are the upper and lower brackets already. The difference between CS2 from Dota 2 bracketing is that they've got groups A and B still on bracketing with the upper and lower brackets. However, if we analyze that, there's not that much difference in it because it still falls down to the playoffs, semis, and grand finals. So, the match that I have mentioned which was ENCE and Fnatic was done and this match was in the group B upper bracket. ENCE moves to the upper bracket finals and if they win tomorrow, they'll be qualified to the playoffs. Whilst Fnatic falls down to the lower bracket of B and will face Monte tomorrow. The current active matches as of typing this are;

Group A - lower bracket:
  • Na'Vi vs FaZe clan
  • GamerLegion vs Apeks

Watched a few maps during day one and still not use to MR12 but it does speed up maps.
Wondering now if they decided to change to this format of maximum rounds so not need games go into overtime. Still haven't watched enough of teamplay to make it a valid enough argument if this is where they were directing the use of this method for gameplay.

Here are the opinions of source2 from some of the professional players to CounterStrike:

GG used to beat up every team roster recently on Dota scene specially on EU and NA but they cant really totally shut down SEA specially Talon Esports. Come to think back that they are also once been dropped to lower bracket on Riyadh masters as far as i remember which we could really be able to say that they are indeed the kryptonite of GG team and pretty sure that they are aware. The bad thing on being on the upper bracket
of Talon is that they would really be facing Liquid which we do know that they are really that outmatched by Liquid whenever they are really that matched up. Lets see if they would really be making out some adjustments basing up on past performance.
Yeah, it's like Gaimin Gladiators has Talon Esports as their kryptonite and they're always losing against them. I think that this is to be expected of Gaimin Gladiators. Many teams have been on their shoe like they've been the best for that year and then they've been outperformed during The Internationals. I see people who are happy that they've seen Gaimin Gladiators being beaten especially Quinn because of his behavior in the pubs and think of himself as a superstar. No hate against him and probably the haters will never reach what Quinn has achieved but let it be like that. The lower bracket has become tougher with all of these former TI winners(Tundra) against Entity which is also a good team.

Even with that Tundra vs Nouns which it is really that unexpected that they had get that 2-0 which is on favor with Nouns. We do know on how dominating Tundra is
but surprisingly they have been beat up but of course its not really that too much of a concern knowing that they are really just heading on lower bracket.
I feel that Nouns have become the former Tundra. If you guys can remember how good they were during the time they became champions which was last year, everything has been smooth and we'll get to see if Nouns will prove themselves against Azure Ray. Also, the prizes are all out now. Here is the distribution for their prizes.

Prize Pool
The initial prize pool of the tournament is $1,600,000 USD.
An additional 25% of all Compendium sales are added to the total prize pool.[1]
The current total prize pool is $3,045,188 USD ($1,445,188 USD added).

1st
$1,370,476  45%   TBD

2nd
$365,406    12%     TBD

3rd
$243,672    8%      TBD

4th
$167,461    5.5%    TBD

5th-6th
$99,023      3.25%  TBD

7th-8th
$76,110      2.5%   TBD

9th-12th
$60,867      2%      TBD

13th-16th
$45,726      1.5%   TBD

17th-20th
$30,484      1%  Team SMG / Thunder Awaken / beastcoast / PSG Quest

As we can see, there's a huge difference between the 1st and 2nd place which is typical, and the champion will still get $1.3M and that's not bad right? Compared to other esports, this is still a lot of money for the prize pool despite that many have been disappointed about it including me.

If we're looking at the odds, it's a big upset, but this wasn't the first time Tundra underperformed this year. It sucks for them to be in the lower bracket, but they're lucky to face Entity and then, possibly VP in the next round.

The most impressive win for me was the Talon match since GG had the better lineup in the third game. Then 23Savage carried so hard with his Morphling, always copying the SB whenever there was a full-on engagement.

TSM hasn't been what they were just a few months ago and from what everybody else has been witnessing so far in this TI tournament, Team Spirit seemed to have replaced them as the team to beat now.
There's also Team Liquid and LGD, who are still looking solid up until now. I hope these two won't get knocked down early in the playoffs because they are the only teams that can put pressure on Team Spirit.
