Anyone watching Astralis vs Heroic...2nd map and Heroic are 9-2...wtf?? hoping for a comeback

There are lot of players criticizing Valorant right now.
My only complaint about Valorant is that is looks like sh*t LOL  Grin  Riot wants ppl to be able to play this game on pretty much any pc, like CSGO, but ffs, valorant's graphics turn me off so much...Can't say much about it from a competitive point of view...

BTW @tomahawk9, great work with the thread. Looks very neat.  Smiley
Glad you like it  Smiley}

EDIT*
Astralis with the comeback thanks to the god "dev1ce". Once he was in the zone, you knew it was over  Cool  And OG with the 2-0 vs Alliance, good start. A win for Team Liquid and it'll be a 3/3 for me (:

Dreamhack Masters and ESL Birmingham start tomorrow, any early comments?
I'm not really following CSGO and I only watch CSGO matches if there is no interesting Dota 2 match. But I also want to have deep knowledge in CSGO, so I will try to watch as much as I can.

And for the ESL Birmingham SEA region, bettors should be more careful because there are so many inconsistent teams in the SEA region. Only Fnatic that has consistently performed well in the SEA tournament.

Quick suggestion, why don't you add Valorant? I know that this is a new game but I'm pretty sure they will provide huge tournaments in the coming months.
Kinda weird for the gameplay, there a lot of people talking velorant could beat csgo. But see the gameplay went you have some skills like wall, fire, and anything on first-person shooter game just weird and not making sense.

More like an RPG game ~LOL.

The reason why velorant hyping right now, there a lot streamer and pro player one of the examples s1mple from navi who also playing velorant trying this game. But from my own perspective from the graphic, gameplay game and other think. This game just hyping and could be after that the player activity getting more worst than apex legend.

There are lot of players criticizing Valorant right now. There are lot of CSGO professional players like food, freakzoid and almost most of the Swole Patrol , Scream had already moved on to pursue a new career in Valorant now. They have created further hype now.

I feel like we will see a Valorant tournament very soon with the attention around Valorant now but there are lot of CSGO fans not liking it. Recently when freakzoid move to Valorant there were lot who criticized his decision. Its a game challenging CSGO atm now.

A bit late. My picks for today:

CSGO:
Astralis -1.5 @1.67
Liquid -1.5 @1.54
Dota:
OG vs Alliance - OG ML @1.60

So much pessimism surroundring G2 right now, so i decided to stay away from their match vs North...But G2 -1.5 @1.96 odds seemed pretty good =(

@batang_bitcoin  After what happened in the BTS Pro SEA, I think i'm gonna back Fnatic.  Roll Eyes Under 2.5 maps @1.55 versus Adroit looks like a no brainer. I wonder if Birmingham 2020 will be another walk in the park for Fnatic.

@turkandjaydee  will try to add the ESL One today.

- Calendar updated!

Dreamhack Masters and ESL Birmingham start tomorrow, any early comments?
No worries.  Smiley
The Sea region for ESL One Birmingham is the first to have matches but it's on May 21. I'll go with the powerhouses of the Sea for the first day wins.
Fnatic, TNC and Geekfam.

ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Southeast Asia will start in only 3 days (May 21). This tournament is too popular to not be on your calendar  Grin.

Based on the previous ESL tournament (ESL Los Angeles 2020), SEA region will start first and EU/CIS region will be the last. Good luck for Boom Esports but it looks like Fnatic will own this tournament again.

Hey, tomahawk, just saw this thread and if it's Dota 2 history. They've got plenty of players that were banned for match-fixing. The latter was already added to the list.

https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Banned_players

I'll follow your calendar so that I can join discussions for csgo too.  Cheesy

@ryzaadit  didn't know about that meme. thanks for sharing that little piece of Dota history (:

You mean to the Calendar section? I think adding more than 4 games could make the section look a bit crammed? Though I might come up with something later on. And yeah, the Valorant page on liquidpedia does have a buch of tournaments sheduled for this month.

Did anyone watch the Astralis vs G2 match? So underwhelming, G2 got monumentally destroyed, it was hard to watch, tbh. And I had "Over 3.5 maps @1.96", ffs!  Roll Eyes

Even not more than 1 month ago, there was a suspicion of match-fixing in WePlay Tournament.

There should be more Dota 2 match-fixing cases than those already exposed. There are many players who get match-fixing offers, they said it in their interviews.

Even there is a Chinese player who said in an interview that he gets ostracized for refusing the offer but I still forget who is the name of the player who said that. Its Yamateh or Mushi if I'm not mistaken.

Semi pro match or lower tiers will always be of more question but the top tier players are making enough so its only greed if they go that way.   The csgo case I remember involved players making no pay at all yet they were one of the higher teams, hence ban from valve related events and unable to get team interest after that.   Csgo got alot more popular and they remained banned.     More recently some criminal charges were laid in Australia I think for game throwing, the asia region for Csgo has less money available for players I guess but still its inexcusable.

Heres a link for that newer case - https://www.dailyesports.gg/five-men-finally-charged-with-match-fixing-in-csgo-in-australia/

Buy The F*cking Dip
@ryzaadit  Is this the first time that there's been a major case of match fixing in Dota? What about Esports in general? I've been in this community for like 6 months or so and i haven't heard of any match fixing (could've missed it tho).

Some changes to the OP:
- Added Nitrogensports to 'Crypto Sportsbooks'
- Added new section 'Calendar' (just four games to keep it simple).

There are several match-fixing cases in the long history of Dota 2. And if I'm not mistaken, within CS:GO too and a lot of other competitive games out there. The only question is if whether they are caught or not. Those Esports "pros" are just barely making any money in the past years and that made them prone to being involved to match fixing to have some extra cash.

Really loving the Calendar section. Very neat and will probably provide important information (for me) when searching for any tournaments coming up.

Quick suggestion, why don't you add Valorant? I know that this is a new game but I'm pretty sure they will provide huge tournaments in the coming months.

@ryzaadit  Is this the first time that there's been a major case of match fixing in Dota?
From our greater history called "322"

Back to 2013 went we have some game RoX.KIS vs zRAGE at StarLadder Season VI went RoX.KIS making some weird gameplay at the end of game the score from RoX.KIS got 50 Death with only 27 mins gameplay. The organization making some investigation from this game, and they indicated making match-fixing, one of the player from RoX.KISS A.K.A "SOLO" making some bet against his enemy and got 322 USD as the payouts bets.

Because of that 322 meme on the Dota Community was born.

What about Esports in general?
I don't know about this, most of my e-sport knowledge more focused on "DOTA 2" since I play that's game.

Sometimes i see ppl commenting on forums and live streams about X or Y match being fixed and everyone just jokes about it...This whole thing with Newbee makes me wonder about the stuff that goes down behind the scenes, after all, there's a lot of money involved in the esports space.
Well, The community always makes some jokes about 322 went some players making a mistake from their gameplay.

But from the case of Avengers team, almost all of them making the same mistake, went the morpling wanna dive to "Newbee", tiny making throw gameplay by tossing medusa to morp also void using a Chrono went he know almost 2-3 his teammate already died. That's truly a match-fixing score, so far I know there a lot mafia score at Chinese if I'm not wrong.

Not only 1 fight scene but also on a few fights against newbie. That's why truly agree that match was match-fixing.

Anywho, an ok run from me yesterday:

But no bets from today, will wait for Sunday matches, though i might watch G2 vs FaZe. Everyone seems to favor G2...hmm.

Newbee got banned due to the match-fixing with the Avengers team.

According to official statement from DPA, Newbee was guilty cause the game against the Avengers team has some match-fixing score at the match. Because of that 5 players from Newbee got lifetime ban from any kind tournament from Imba TV, DPL-CDA Professional League and Dota2 Professional League. The match-fixing score was on the second game against avenger, went avenger leading the game from a score, gold and experience hero. But have something strange activity from Avenger team, went they mostly making an intentional mistake from their gameplay.

If you want to watch the match, went they throwing to "Newbee" here we go :
1. https://clips.twitch.tv/SparklingVictoriousShrimpFreakinStinkin
2. https://clips.twitch.tv/SmilingInspiringAardvarkHeyGirl
3. https://clips.twitch.tv/FlaccidBrainySkirretKappa

And then "Newbee" win with score 1-2 against the Avenger team.

It reminds me of an "paid actors" case from the Chinese server. Went some group/player who has a high MMR number, have some service to be an actor to throw the games if they meet you against an enemy, and boosted your MMR if meets you as the team went their other account was throwing on the enemy side. They will ask you some money, if not they will try to destroy your game

Another drama 322 or Actors on the Chinese pro scene ~LOL.

What's your taught about this, did e-Sport still have a lot of mafia and score settings the same as a sport or not?

G2 took the first map  Sad  They're leading 10-5 in 2nd map

*EDIT comeback and we're 1-1 now. quality map
*EDIT 2-1 for G2...close but no cigar...great match overall.

@Harko  Nice win! And hope to see you here more often, even though european football is coming back very soon (so we'll probably talk more often in the other threads lol)  Wink

And later today we have Astralis vs Faze.
Where do you see it? I tried searching and didn't see it in your site, did I miss?
The Astralis vs Faze match is part of today's schedule in the 'ESL One - Road to Rio'. Btw, about the visible calendar that you mentioned earlier, I'll try to add it to the OP this weekend.
