ETH have millions USD in background, no any other altcoin can offer something similar. It will stay in the market due to strong financial background. Just look on ETH price bubble growing.  Wink

I used to think it was impossible for Ethereum to be "game over". But after seeing ETC gaining traction, it is now getting more possible day by day that it is indeed close to "game over". ETH prefork holders should split their coins and hold ETC also.

The ETC is just a hack coin. If the DAO hackers dump their ETC, the price could crash. For the time being, it is a pump and dump coin.
If coin is so flawed that it enable someone to directly steal coins from the network itself, then dumping the coins after the hack is the least important problem.
Current ETH vs. ETC war is only making this whole situation looks more and more ridiculous.

so naive... the same thing apply to eth. There are huge eth holders thinking about move to etc. A dump like this could crash ETH any time soon.
both coins have huge holders, this is a terrible argument.

The ETC is a hack coin. The hacker will dump the ETC he obtained by hacking the DAO code. He has no interest in ETC.

yeah, i think hat the price of it is going to grow so people are holding their bitcoins right now in order to make some good profit out of it though thats just my opinion

I bought some bitcoin in early 2013 when the price was quite low. I did not sell even during the big bubble. I will hold them for the next few years.

Surprisingl ethereum isn't dead yet.  I was sort of sure that it would be by this point but there are apparently people who still believe in it strongly.   I don't get it.  But sometimes it takes a while for things to die, and they don't always die when you expect them to.   Somebody bump this thread in a year or so.

Takes a while?! Look at NXT and XMR Cheesy

By default all prefork ETH hodlers have exactly the same number of ETC criminal coins as their ETH bag, so no need for anyone to "split their coins".

Seriously what is it about this fact that Spoetniktards fail to grasp?!?

Here is a link where the founder of ETH explains how to split your ETH and ETC using a split contract.

https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/07/26/onward_from_the_hard_fork/

Most definitely people want to split their coins and avoid the replay bug created by the fork.

its not hard , you need to dump free ETC before the DAO bug abuser can , or you can wait for the failed pump to fail some more

For sure you need not to split any contract

If you have very cheap electricity price, you can make some money by mining the Ethereum with graphics cards.

Considerable amount of user group is supporting ETC but i have difficulty in understanding that.  ETH has lost a little bit power but i think that it will be on the rise in next mouths for sure.

The old chain does not have a hacker or a group of thieves owning a large number of the Ethereums.

until enough trading takes place, and I guess that's happening now, etc has identical owners with the exclusion of those who weren't refunded and addition of the dao attacker.

Will the white hat hacker return the 7.2 million of ETC to the DAO holders? Is there any plan for that?
i dont think it would be a good decision to return the money from the hacker, they messed up and they have to get the results of it thus i think hacker should have his funds
