Yes. Ethereum has higher chances of survival than EOS, due to its long-term establishment within the crypto space. Of course, EOS can reach the level of Ethereum if it becomes extremely popular over time. But until now, EOS is relatively new with only a few months of inception and a lower degree of development than Ethereum. Any cryptocurrency (no matter if its EOS or ETH) could die in the long run, if it loses the most important thing which is mainstream adoption.
The day that ETH or EOS cease to be popular cryptocurrencies, will be such where they'll die. Also, development and innovation greatly determine a cryptocurrency's chance of survival (although not guaranteed). Considering that both EOS and ETH are highly prominent smart contract platforms, it's very unlikely that they'll die anytime soon. Just my thoughts
