I will consider both of these coins for long-term investment because in a short period the prices may dump very fastly, so holding these coins for long-term will always give good returns. Both these companies will be on the same platform which will be implementing their developments. Many companies will start using these two platforms according to their requirement.
What about ETH future upgrade? POS with sharding, how do you think this will influence the price? It's just not entirely clear when it happens? Do neo have some future upgrades that will lead it to the next tech level?

Are you sure about that? and why bitcoin should below both of these coins? these days people are considering the bitcoin as a very good thing to store their value. This much better to see ethereum and NEO still below the bitcoin and that makes sense consider both of coins are still pegged with the bitcoin to determine the value.
Same Coin/token have a potential for the future, But it depends to the investor. i would still choose ethereum for long

Both, ETH's Ethereum Alliance and NEOs relationship with the Chinese government, are testaments of their legitimacy and presumably their long life expectancy.

I believe that you can not choose neo or Ethereum, because it is 2 high-quality projects, personally I invest 50/50 in these projects.
I think 5 years are too longer for exact predictions. We don't know what will after 2 years in the world. And 5 years are unpredictable. So much events happens every year. Many analysts tells about coming world crisis like 2008-2009 but with more scales. The situation between the countries is growing more and more. How in these conditions can you predict?
in fact, a five-year period is a very long time, in order to assume any changes in the crypto-currency market. You can just take into account 2017 and 2016, while seeing how things changed in 2018. Thus, one can see the instability of the crypto-currency market.

I think that ETH will still have a bigger marketcap, but NEO will be at a higher multiple compared to now
I think if we compare the popularity between ETH and NEO then ETH very much popular than NEO and i personally consider if i want to save the particular coins for long term then i will choose popular coins because it can ensure my investment always be valuable and regarding this question i think i will not devide my investment for them but considering many factors i think i will stick for ETH than NEO

I think there will be an exciting dispute between eth and neo in the future, they will compete to be the best. But I think eth will still be superior to neo, it doesn't mean neo is worse than eth, it's just that the neo rank and price are still below eth.
In the next 5 years, I will choose NEO. NEO is a 3rd best-rated cryptocurrency at the moment. And it will soon grow and pass ETH. In the next 1-2 years ETH will still be the king of altcoin. But then NEO will take the throne.
Eth already a standard in the crypto world. Neo will have to increase ICO quantity on their platform to compete with ETH. ALso there are a lot of new projects now. For example, EOS theoretically can beat both of them)

I do not have the mind to think for five more years, because now the price of coins is constantly falling and ETh is at the bottom of the market, my total assets down 60% compared to a few months ago, so I are very anxious.
I think ETH is better and more promising than NEO, even though NEO users and communities continue to increase dramatically, but the number of successful tokens and using the Ethereum platform is a good indication that Ethereum's future is more promising.

Neo has a higher risk, but the potential is higher than Eth. Eth is the safe bet.
I think that after five years, NEO will surpass Ethereum, and NEO has a large user base. Only his current value has not yet developed. Now Ethereum shines.
