Returning to $1000 is unlikely this year because it will take more time before it happen again. The upcoming hardfork of ethereum might temporarily rise its price up but it may decline after the fork is done. I think ethereum growth can still reach another height in the years to come after its update to ethereum 2.0 next year and I also believe there will be more DAPP projects that may support its goals.
I think it's first rise past $1,000 was based mainly on hype for the platform and of the crypto space in general. So next time it goes to $1K it'll have to EARN that valuation and really be worth that much based off of its usefulness.
Instead of a hike in price after hardfork, it is most likely to be a downtrend because people who bought ETH cheap in the last dip are already in profit. $1000 sounds like a dream
When it comes to the big bullish trend and sounds not like a dream, 2017 has proven dude. ETHCV and ETN hardfork are just another scam hardfork which the creator have been stealing the identity from the internet. When those buyers are seeing their have already in the profit and they will keep it.

I don't think hardfork can help bring Ethereum back its price. Perhaps we will see a slight increase in the price, but obviously not to$1000. He's not ready to come back yet.

How far ethereum goes in price is closely tied to the total market capitalization of cryptos in general, not in upgrade or hard fork. I don't know which news source you follow! Eth price will be half of the bitcoin price? It is absolutely false news! After the hard fork, we can see ETH price up to 250 USD max! Fork can't make the situation better when we are in a bear market! But it is true that ETH will be stronger than now!

When ethereum drops, all comments say that ethereum will die. When Ethereum starts to rise, the comment changes by saying that ETH coin is the best after BTC.
After hardfork the price of Ethereum remains the same as it is now, only pump a little at the start. There is no achievement of ethereum prices of up to $ 1000.

you're right, it's hard to get ethereum back to $ 1000 without the help of the bull market. hardfork is just a speculation for people to want to go back to the market. but all of that won't work if no pump happens.
