SEC Charges EtherDelta Founder With Running 'Unregistered Securities Exchange'

Poor guy...

Seriously? Do we really have to register the decentralized exchanges now? Roll Eyes

That Chinese guy is really unlucky. First he was scammed by Zack when he first bought it.. now this.

Those Chinese looked quite unlucky back in November, but it seems like they were doing a lot behind the scenes. For example, using EtherDelta for an ICO to scam people:

I have several orders at Forkdelta. Is it somehow possible to list all these Orders? I know https://deltabalances.github.io/index.html, but I can't find the option I'm looking for there.

You have option for trade history on delta balances which works well enough. Can be slow because blocks are read trough infura. I am not sure if it shows open orders but they should also be recorded on blockchain so I am giving it 50:50 chance. I never had any open orders when I was using it. You can also export it as .cvs file.

Deltabalances is probably one of the best tools in ETH token trader arsenal.

I can't cancel my order on etherdelta, so that  I cannot withdraw my ETH, can everyone help me?

I think etherdelta and forkdelta both use the same order book, so maybe you could try to use forkdelta to cancel your order.... anyhow i'm not sure.

Just give a look if it can help you.

I have never used etherdelta, for log in I have to use metemask to be safe, if it doesn't exist, then the private key as an alternative is not safe I think. Because use private key that is connected directly to our mew which contains a lot of coins to log in in exchange, it can cause us to potentially lose coins, except for create separate mew which only contains coins that will be traded at Etherelta.

The exchange is too heavy for my network, I can't seem to open it on regular internet connectivity but I have to find a superfast connection. This product is fast becoming obsolete!

Anyone knows what's etherdelta position on the recent trend of DEXs having to comply with KYC procedures (see IDEX)?

I don't think they have an official position yet.

Also,http://[flash=200,200] i don't think they could force kyc on smartcontracts operations, they could just force kyc on site frontend[/flash]. Even idex may not be able to lock the smart contract.

That is a good point indeed.

https://etherdelta.com/#undefined-ETH

Above is what you get by searching EDT2 at EtherDelta, so I'm hoping EDT is still the real token to invest in. When you use etherscan with the presumably correct contract below, you see 1.5 billion tokens.

https://etherscan.io/token/0xce53a179047ebed80261689367c093c90a94cc08

Edit!! And furthermore, the EtherDeltaToken(.)org website only trades with it's strange EDT2 tokens for any pair, not ETH.

Edit2: And why do you prefer IDEX as if they are pure gold and let's not forget ForkDelta and that other one EtherNext. No thanks.

Edit3: Watched YouTube Vid from 0xBitcoin and can easily recommend Ethex; however, it looks like you must keep Metamask open for the duration of the trade. Here's the link to the 0xBTC token for ETH. Thank you...

It’s good that there are a lot of alternative solutions EtherDelta, you can use forkdelta ,idex.market.These are excellent decentralized exchanges, with a large selection of tokens.

Does anybody know, if I can withdraw my tokens from the contract to another Wallet Adress? I don’t want to withdraw to my wallet which is connected to ether delta!

You can put a sell order on EtherDelta and 'buy' your own tokens with ED account linked to another address but I don't really see the point of that.

I don't think that's possible. When i need that, i always have to do two transfers, first from the contract to the wallet, then to the final destination.

Probably this is impossible for security reasons.

I don't think it's because of security reasons. The contract is connected to the wallet adress. But I have no knowledge of these things. So anyone knows a trick, maybe?

Some friends experience problems when they transfer tokens to smart contrack and then etherdelta goes offline. And we feel disturbed by the trade there with the same problem but they think this is fine

I have the same problem. My order always fails, I wonder if it's possible because of the small cost of my GAS so I raised it but it didn't work. There are several tokens in the ED account and everything just settles there.

The most frequent cause for confussion occurs by not WAITING long enough. WAIT five or ten minutes between all-things done at/on EtherDelta and you won't be disappointed. They did complete the GUI update recently so I'm good with this project. There's just lots of frustration in Ether but it's still better than that wannabe Tether called Ripple (which is just what XRP aims for while they accumulate Bitcoin/Ethereum from you)Cheesy

If I may, edit: Reading the disclaimer near the bottom right-screen at ED... Most longtime users will agree, it's easy to make mistakes - so, could a bot be rented while at ED to perform an idiot-proof trade? I saw where Gemini.com got insurance for all their wallets, which is a first of its kind and sort of how the bot would perform. I've never thought of ED as just a small or outdated site by any measure, just the opposite.
