Whats up with those rumours about EtherDelta being hacked? Telegram is flooded with those news.

Hopefully thats not true, if it is, it will likely hurt trust in decentralized exchanges a lot.

Yes! EtherDelta was really hacked!

Here is the supposed wallet of the hackers
https://etherscan.io/address/0x3f8a37bde9b15b65c82f9cdd00192e0ba36cc5fc

Now they already withdraw most of the tokens and ether. Yesterday when I saw it they had around 300k in tokens,

At least they are not withdrawing anything anymore. They withdraw tons of thing by this morning.

Now they send most of it to different addresses and i hope they won't get anything anymore.

Anyone get scammed by this in here?

even if we have not lost anything
our address is compromised?
does this mean that we have to change it or what is possible to know if we have been hacked?

It's DNS has been hacked and if you go to the site now and make any transfer, it will go directly to the hackers account. The private keys are still safe with ED but they haven't yet posted any updates since the attack.

This recent hack of ED is a mixed blessing.

1. It has shown everyone that ED is not as secure as we thought.

2. There is need for ED to be more secure.

I hope other exchanges learn from this ugly experience and come up with more security features to safely protect their users.

Well, this attack is very suspicious in every dimension, how does some or group of people manage to 'hijack' the site's DNS just like that?sounds more like a planned thing and the next fear is that people will have a lot of qualms using that exchange.I hope they find a solution to this as soon as possible.

And here I thought that them being a decentralized exchange make it impossible for them to get hack.
We'll, now, lesson learned. Seems like any other decentralized exchange like ED (there's quite a lot of them out there) can be hacked.

Thankfully, when I tried and visited their site a couple of minutes ago, Metamask warning kicked in and got me notified.  Grin

There goes their plan on releasing a token for ED.  Roll Eyes

Nobody will/should be using this site from now on unless they want to get hacked. The other ICOs planning to list their coins on ED should withdraw their plans as they proved today to be useless. They moved from github and set up their own site only to get hacked now.

I'm really worried on the trading style they offer to their traders and putting our private key before doing some trades is little bit disturbing on my side that's why I rarely step mu foot on EtherDelta since there so many vulnerability will show in future. And now the huge error on the side of EtherDelta's management came up and this one is so serious problem from them and to their traders.

It was very practical. Importing there and just trade was practical and easy. But there were always some security concerns and now this happened.

I think after this, etherdelta needs to do something big to come back to our lives.

Maybe they should revise their Importing style and make those classic ones so that they can assure that the main wallet of their traders will at safe, but let's wait for further updates of ED to know more critical info's on these attack since we don't know yet on how deep the penetrate's come unto the ED site. And I want to know also if those people who input their private keys before might get compromise for these issue.

You can check the balances of your tokens deposited on etherdelta and even manually transfer them from it interacting with ED's contract in MyEtherWallet. here is the way how to do it: https://steemit.com/etherdelta/@davidaarong/how-to-manually-transfer-tokens-off-of-etherdelta

Thank you for that link. Didn't know it was possible. I have used deltabalances to check the situation with my wallet and all the funds on etherdelta are still there. Mostly just worthless airdrops and little ETH.

Since all combined it isn't a big amount. I have decided to wait a bit to see how situation will resolve and if it comes to worst I will use the info from your link to get my money out of ED smart contract.

We were very sure decentralized etherdelta can't be hacked.

And here the result. I didn't lose anything so far because i was lucky and didn't open it yesterday.

But how about the people lost all of their tokens and eth?

We got hacked, sorry can cover all?

etherdelta has been hack?
Yes it has.

Was EtherDelta really hacked???

I'm being redirected to http://suspendeddomain.org/a/

Was this redirect a request from EtherDelta or is part of the hack??

Am I in danger? This was the only time today that I open EtherDelta. What should I do to secure my assets?

I suspected that's phising site. Did you put your username or password when you open that site?
Make sure you use wallet which has greatest security (2FA and email/phone verification).
