I honestly think its a pretty okay alt to be honest and I also think it can rise again if it will goes well.
Also some people are saying this and I must say that I believe them that it will rise again.

TheDao has put strong buying pressure on ETH, let's see if this is the late accumulation stage of the coin and we'll see a big rise soon.

It's bounced back, that's for sure. Close to $10 now.

Soon $13 per ETH almost certainly within reach again.

You can start expecting this when the DAO starts to near its end in this starting price. People will start to panic and get in last minute before the price increase

The Ethereum price is quite volatile. It dropped quite a lot. But it has not dropped below 0.015. Is that a bottom?

It looks like one; certainly, $7 looks like one. But when it comes down to it: if you put your money down, you've either got to have faith that ETH is a HODL or else you've gotta use a stop-loss.

I still have some faith in Ethereum. So when it drops to $5, I will buy some. But it will depends on the development of the coin.

i don't have any more faith in Ethereum, not after Vitalik dumped his own creation for fiat. that was a terrible sign for me to not think about ethereum as a long term thing. but only as a short term rocket to sometimes catch a lift to the top and get out fast while it is high.
More FUD. He cashed out 25% to fund ETH ongoing development. He still has a majority stake of 75% of his holdings.

that's what vitalikhisballs wants everyone to believe. he sold another 25%

only now read the news about the fact that Vitalick Buterin sold part of its share of the brainchild ethereum, I like his comments: "I still say it's an experiment, and all may be to collapse ..."

As this might be one of the few threads where FUD and PUMP is not in abundance, I'd like to say that both sides on the Ethereum debate are going to extreme measures to get their voices heard.

For me that has an adverse effect, I hate the useless pumping it hurts Ethereum credibility for me. I hate the (unfundamental) FUD spread, which makes me interested in Ethereum.

Not exactly. It basically is a investment company owned be the DAO token holders, who can vote which projects shall be funded. Slock.it is their posterboy for that.

Thanks.

It looks like a complex... complex ponzi.

Buy ethereum... pump runs out of steam? Oh, doesnt matter, buy DAO! What is DAO? I still dont know what is DAO (and yes i have read the empty phrases at its webpage), its an organisation. Or just a brotherhood? However what is sure- its a servant of ethereums price, currently the only sense of existence is the pump of ethereum by direct buy support and the whole DAO looks like a gam(bl)e.

It looks very very similar to NXT, do you remember? There were also "smart contracts" - it was called "NXT tokens, NXT exchange, NXT colored coins etc." and it worked just to buy NXT until the whole NXT ecosystem as bitcoin 2.0 crashed and got forgotten. Ethereum is also proven to be 2.0, pumped by similar way and the same way will be dumped when the "contracts" get dumped to cash out by "contractors".

It is hard to argue against it, since at the moment, the whole altcoin market basically is a giant ponzi scheme. You are right that at this point, it is just another promise. But it is a promise you can profit from, even before it is fulfilled. see the ETH market right now.

ETH rising quite a bit today. Do you guys think it has something to do with the start of the DAO crowsale(https://daohub.org/)? I mean, around 211 000 ETH are quite a bit. Plus, there is no "1st day bonus", the ETH to DAO exchange rate will stay the same for the next 13 days. Wth that in mind, ETH could rise a little higher still, right?

Interesting. is DAO the new name for slock.it?

But at the end of the day, those 211k Etheruem has to be spent, so it will be sold again to the market.

Well, the ETH is paid into an account which is used to fund projects (see above). The main idea is, that those projects are profitable, thus bringing more ETH into the DAO system. If I understand correctly, you can swap your DAO tokens for ETH earned that way, but I am not completely sure.

Interestingly enough, that means that DAO tokens are backed by ETH.

So, if it is going to be spend, it probably won't happen in one big chunk, especially since the people who invested in the DAO have an interest of keeping the ETH price high.
