2022 is next year mate
personally i predict if ethereum price will run above $3K next year
especially if the gas fees decreasing, there will be no chance for ethereum price to go under $3k mate
Can't believe that this topic was posted 4 years ago, there are too many predictions that came true to this present times. Ethereum hits 1000 usd barrier before 2022 and as of now it will hit 2000 usd in the upcoming days. So buy now and hold your beers, for the bull market will still continue.

my target price ETH for 2022 i think ETH will reach about $2500-2600, because the price and the hype of altcoin keep going up since elon musk effect, but still it all depends on the ETH team itself, they have to keep maintain their project and have to announce when will they release ETH 2.0, so that the price can go up to sky one more time.

It will happen sooner or later, but as you know ETH price depends on the movement of BTC. It seems BTC doesn't want to rise up, and maybe we must wait a bit more to see something good about the prices of altcoins. When BTC starts growing up, altcoins will follow it. ETH has really potential in the cryptocurrency world, ETH investment is always profitable.

Guess what? We are at 2020 now and 2 more years until the OP's target reached. I'd say it would be better than this year definitely, 2020 is already a wrack journey for us as a trader. I think 2020 is just 2018 but worse due to corona and other stuff that keep happening continuously.

Since it's last ATH wayback 2017-2018 is $1,000 each. I do believe at 2022 it might goes x10 up-to x15. There is a possibility or even more feasible that ethereum will make a sound of crypto industry on coming 5 years since almost of the new coins are ether based contract and significantly there are now more investments using ethereum so its worth having more ethereum in our wallet for investment.
the use of ethereum networks is very much. now, ethereum requires major development. expected now is ethereum 2.0 which has been planned. Hopefully, the update will get big support from the market. the price of bitcoin becomes important to support the updates that will be made.t

I'm not sure about that because this coin is entirely dependent on Bitcoin and the value of Ethereum in the past year has not really improved, making me very depressed holding. I will wait until Ethereum 2.0 is released because if this news comes out then the price of ETH will increase but don't meet my initial expectations, then I will consider selling to ensure profit of yourself.
Are you sure the update will improve the price of ETH in a short time? The hype might happen, but don't expect a large value. until now there has not been a good demand for ethereum. even the renewal agenda was delayed from the previous schedule.

It all depends on the price of bitcoin in 2020, although soon there is a 2.0 update I think the price will not big pump, however ethereum will still follow the movements of bitcoin
l think we will see the best price of ETH at the end of the year, as you above mentioned ETH follows the movement of BTC as expected. No doubt every altcoin depends on the movement of BTC. When BTC starts to rise up, no doubt altcoins will also increase. But BTC is just around 9k, maybe it will take time BTC to rise up. 
very fortunate if people have already sold their Ethereum at All Time High in early 2018, and those who have already bought in 2018 may be patient, because it might be possible to $ 1,000 in 2021 
I'm expecting ethereum to surpass it's previous all time high in 5 years time, perhaps it depends on how bitcoin move though, but in 5 years time bitcoin price would have soar thigh so I expect ethereum to follow suite also

maybe yes maybe not because anything can happen in the near future. for coins like Ethereum it is not difficult to go up more than $ 500 in five years if happens a large increase. everything depends on market conditions and prices on Bitcoin. maybe there are certain seasons and that is what many people by are waiting for.
