It was only matter of time when will ETH take back the second position on CMC. 2018 was a bad year for ETH without development news and upgrades. 2019 starts with development updates and the price of ETH should increase and start recovering to the previous levels.
I have this feeling that the spot is going to be hotly contested by Ethereum and Ripple although Ripple has a short stay but this is a big achievement for them and they always work for to get the second spot again, this is something to watch this 2019.
That's good but lot of people still investing in ripple or XRP they have a Big trust on ripple which is ethereum can't reach that. But slowly ethereum getting higher for its price.
That's your wrong idea, ETH has a bigger community and has more investors than XRP. XRP cannot be compared with ETH if they do not have support from the bank, ETH will not let XRP pass it againAnd banks and other financial institutions are not supporters of XRP. They interest lays on Ripple's technology and not on XRP coin. It is even stupid to compare one to other by the role in DLT sphere
Ethereum will definitely take it's place back, eth even though it's been behind xrp seems to be better than xrp at all. Everyone only looks at eth and btc being dominant or being superior to the other alts, but that's only my opinion.

ETH is the best altcoin. It is normal for people to feel safe investing in this currency. XRP is a centralized currency, a currency controlled by certain groups, so it can not inspire trust for many. ETH is too strong and are good signs for ICO projects. Let's hope that ICO projects will not be as disastrous as in 2018 with the increase in ETH.
Ethereum is definitely a very good coin, but now you need to look at how the upcoming hard forks will affect this coin. too many hard forks - mean that there will be a lot of manipulation on this coin on the market

I really couldn't understand that the ETH price could came to $80 lines from $1400, but i am sure it will recover in 2019. In last 1 month we saw that and ETH gained like %55 and this raise will continue in my opinion.
Keep waiting and hope for things to happen. I appreciate ETH at this time and the demand for investment will soon increase again in 2019. I am a technology lover and getting back to second place is just a matter of time

I think investors have more confidence in Ethereum than in ripple, and now Ethereum is gaining capitalization in the market and has started a bullish trend. I think Ethereum is much better than ripple

Ethereum rightful place is number 2 ,ethereum erc20 capability is like no other and presently there are good projects running off the erc20 smart contract so I will always choose ETH over ripple

Yes, Ethereum again and again proving it is best in alt coins and a real competitor, the value is slowly pumping and we can expect a pump on 11-1-19 as there are lot of speculation is going on in this forum. I think there is still a lot of chance left for the people who are waiting to invest in crypto currency for them this is a wonderful opportunity also for short-term investors as well.

Ethereum still keeps second place in top 10 of cryptocurrency rate. Bitcoin has correlation with all cryptocurrencies,sometimes btc is counted as backup for them. Whenever trend happens in bitcoin same movement applies to others.
