I think mining ethereum still profitable and many miners still choosesn ethereum to mine.  if you have a good rig to mine ethereum better to buy the best GPU 4gb in up to make more ethereum fast..before ethereum will explode to increase the value this coming block halving..

There is no block halving in Ethereum...
true but it is traded against BTC thus ethereum price will be halved as well

It does not work that way. If the bitcoin price doubles, everything else priced in bitcoin will be halved. But the price in US dollar is the same.

you can make more money now than when bitcoin was at 500, because the value of etheruem is still there, not counting the pump to 0.03

Mining Ethereum is still very profitable as its price has risen in dollar terms. As long as your cost in in fiat, it is OK to mine.

hey, im having trouble setting up my mining rig, if you could please advise ---> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/problem-with-ethereum-gpu-mining-pls-help-screenshots-included-1508467

anyway i have a gigabyte r9 270x, what should be my expected rate?

GPUshack lists it as a 16MH card, but I've noticed their figures tend to be a bit optimistic sometime.

15-16 should be the right ballpark though.

The Difficulty is really fucked up  Grin
My Earnings went from 100 to 20 :/

Anyways the Price of Ethereum will defenetly rise!

regards

When I started mining, one rig could earn 10 Etheruem a day, now it is less 1 Etheruem. But there is still some profit.

The difficulty has risen too fast. If there is no Etheruemp price rise, I will stop mining in the next 4 months.

The difficulty doubles every two months, in 4 months, the difficulty will be 4 times present value, not many people will make profit.

We just hope the price will also rise 4 times so the profitability is the same. But that might not happen.

When a significantly large proportion of folks mining get to the point they're losing (or break-even) money mining ETH.

Might be "too many folks get into it" driving the hashrate and diff up, might be a price drop that does that - no way to tell at the moment.
Could be a combination of BOTH factors, of course.

Guarenteed diff will go to zero when POS is fully implimented.

more likely that are always the same two giant farm are adding more gpu than "many folk" driving the diff up

giant farm can easily add 10 rig a week, because the other 100 rig pay for that in no time

You are absolutely right. For those big farms the profit can keep the mining running and adding new rigs without problem. The only limit is the power consumption.

when it goes proof of stake it will pretty much stay below 10 forever.

Is there a place we can petition so that the developers know we want to keep the PoW as they promised when the Ethereum first came out?

The best method is just to sell the Ethereum and make the price lower, then the developers will notice that.

The network hash rate is 3360GH/s. It is like 118,000 AMD R9 280X. That is a very big hash rate in the history of mining.

it would be funny if amd and nvidial stop gpu production, so at least the diff won't increase anymore, and we would have the smae profit forever

These 118 7970/280x equivalent is very small amount of the total GPU in supply. The difficulty will rise again.

The rise of the mining difficulty continues, it is 46.3T now. I am wondering when it will stop rising.
