I believe that Ethereum developers do a lot of work and the project has a good future, but I also think that there are already many respectable competitors on the market that can become much better than this old project.
That's true but we are talking about the possibility for ethereum to surpass or even take over bitcoin. As a major crypto and ethereum is the only coin that can fight with bitcoin in term or marketcapitalization. I didn't see any other coin that has the same chance like ethereum.

about the 32 ETH requirement for staking, this would push the demand of ETH again, and its expected to rise as the demand increases.

Staking requirement makes no difference because users can make a pool to stake...

I believe that launching ethereum 2.0 (which was supposed to be launched in 2017) is going to be good, no doubts about it. But it is so late... I hope there are not many bugs, otherwise we can see a downtrend...

This is the first time a big coin will use a PoS. Previous projects were implemented in small cap coins.

Take over what? if it's the entire market, then my answer would be NO.

Ethereum already rank number 2 in the entire market and number 1 in the altcoins market, so we can say it already has the best position now.
I don't expect it will beat bitcoin as the dominance alone, at 65% dominance of bitcoin, we can clearly see what's gonna happen if bitcoin will move.

There has been a big improvement of ETH already in terms of ranking, before, the competition of ETH and XRP was close, in fact XRP took the number 2 spot and just ETH just take it over last year I guess.

Comparing the two now, there's already a big disparity. (https://coinmarketcap.com/)

Ethereum $27,172,025,472 (marketcap)
XRP $9,036,777,062  (marketcap)

Ethereum won't overtake the performance of bitcoin because it will still gained the highest invested coin by investors in the crypto market. Ethereum has made a significant surge by now and with its ETH 2.0, i think there will be more great opportunities coming for ethereum as more projects will be ethereum based already in the next days to come.

I think 32 ETH is a fair amount for staking, it's far lower than the requirement for something like DASH or many other PoS coins.

In any case, I don't think that the new Caspar upgrade will necessarily be that big of a deal. We need to see whether it really brings the performance benefits that Vitalik claims it will. If it's only marginal, then I don't think we'll see a huge pump.

The community are acting like ETH 2.0 is going to be some sort of technological revolution of sorts. If it can truly blow away competing platforms like TRON and Cardano, then I believe it can approach Bitcoin's success —but it probably won't overtake it.

Ethereum poised to potentially outperform top crypto coins in near future, with the way I'm sensing things it seem ethereum is becoming more bullish by every minutes, here are few questions for you crypto lovers

1. Can Ethereum take over?
2. What will happen after the POS upgrade?
3. How do you see the 32Eth requirements for staking?
1. it can but the chance for ethereum to take over bitcoin is really small
2. you will be able to staking your ethereum in the network to earn passive income and ethereum can't be mined again.
3. I think you should try to take a look at this https://beacon.etherscan.io/ It was running the beacon chain testnet for ethereum POS

Ethereum although looks great but i do not think that it is going to take over bitcoin as btc also looks equally bullish to me so i think it is time market will make its move and i expect that market will break trillion dollar cap by year end. To answer your questions one by one;
1. Can Ethereum take over? No
2. What will happen after the POS upgrade? Huge money will be pumping into Eth driving the price to new highs.
3. How do you see the 32Eth requirements for staking? I do not have an issue with it and i think it is good to go.

Well it was always on the cards and personally i was suggesting my friends to buy and accumulate eth as much as they can as it looks to be standing at most potentially profitable asset in the market because it came down from high of 1400 to down of 80 only, now i think anything under 500 is still a good price for eth and i am super bullish about the upcoming events for eth network.

You will get the answer when you have the answer for the use case, we already have bitcoin as a speculative market and we do not want to see many coins following the same path as it will not succeed. If you are looking for a secure network then the upgrade will not provide anything rather than having a change in their protocol.

1. Can Ethereum take over?

What do you mean by take-over? Ethereum has been the top altcoin so far so no doubt that it will continue. But if you are talking about the Flippening, it won't happened, sorry to burst the bubble.

2. What will happen after the POS upgrade?

We really don't know, maybe it will push Ethereum and other Ethereum based projects to the next level. There are a lot of hype around the POS upgrade, but we will have to see what's going to be the net effect.

3. How do you see the 32Eth requirements for staking?

For average joe, it's a huge amount, so maybe not all can afford that 32Eth post staking. So I guess only those who have deep pocket can profit more in this scenario.

It is understandable that Ethereum is actually gunning for the top spot seeing how dominating bitcoin has been all these years. No doubt, Bitcoin will remain undisputed in the foreseeable future due to its prominence, acceptance and wide scale usage. However, with the Ethereum blockchain 2.0 set to birth, it will be pushing bitcoin all the way which is a good thing.

I don't think ETH can take Bitcoin place on a near future, the difference in market cap is so high that I just don't see it happening, although I do agree it is looking bullish...
In my oppinion the POS is a gamble that can easily backfire, mainly due to the 32ETH requiremnt for staking, putting the network into the hands of a relatively smallnumber of actors...

if we talk about price ethereum can't take over bitcoin now or in the future
but, if we talk about market capitalizations i think ethereum can take over bitcoin even if only briefly maybe just few days then go back below bitcoin again.
when the POS upgrade, of course the price of eth will fly mate
maybe you need more than 32 eth to get a better rewards

Eth has the potential to be a lot bigger, but it's never going to overtake bitcoin unless something absolutely radical happens. There's been so much talk of developments, upgrades and projects on the eth network for so long that haven't always come to fruition and that definitely doesn't help things.

Ethereum is very controversial coin. Some people see an enormous technology that can have many usecases due to supported smart-contracts. Others are talking about buzzwords that never work in the real life.  Wink

Is this what are you implying for? Ethereum is going to take Bitcoin place? Definitely not.

1. No.
2. Bullish momentum is created because of staking and more project based on POS will come out using this momentum to make an easy money off people.
3. It is not much because normal people can use shared pool to jump in if they do not have enough coin to start their own node.
