Also the current market popularity of ETH is not more than Bitcoin and the more costumers you have, the more you sell. So ETH might not cross Bitcoin however it might cross $2000.Not as much stable as we think, the most stable altcoin is USDT even thought it is depended directly from US dollars but the price changes from $0.98 - $1.04.
With the change from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake ethereum is gonna change its behavior and the price will be affected directly from this which I think the price will vary from $1.5 to $3k by the end of the year.

if I predict ETH later in 2018, of course at the end of the year the ETH price will experience a very drastic increase as of the end of 2017 yesterday. because the growth of ETH is faster than compared to other altcoins

I think more and more projects will try to compete with ETH. And strong roadmap and development will allow ETH to be in the TOP. ICO's only is not good engine for price. But development and marketing can do much more

according to the projected value from the forecast i am following Ethereum will peak the most not in 2018 but in January 2019. How they analyze it so far shows that Ethereum will go over 1000 US dollars but will not break its All time high record in 2017. As i dig in deeper on where they based this forecast, there is no concrete measure or parameters they given, this may still vary as they say. so far there as small margins of error from the forecast they given but pretty close from the market shows.

I think it is very difficult to skip or replace the current bitcoin position. I honestly do not expect that to happen, what I expect is that both remain in that position and the price keeps rising. Then everyone will be happy.
