I’ve been into Bitcoin since 2014. It’s always been my main thing, however I’ll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

Now I find myself in a situation where I really believe in Ethereum as the only other viable project. I’ve been accumulating Ether to the point where now I’m 80% BTC, 10% Eth and, 10% USDC (prepared to buy more BTC when the time is right).

I’m preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I can’t see ethereum really disappearing. It’s the only crypto that I’ve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. I’m concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

Any intelligent insights on this forum? Not a pissing match, not a shitcoin shill session. Just honest feelings about Ethereum from other veterans in the space.

I lost hope with etehreum can back to higher price because until today I never see new update from ethereum team and owner with new way how to make eth back with higher price, although last month have update news with system upgrade but etehreum keep stable with lower price and never move on to higher price.

◦ the switch to POS should bring in new Ethereum supporters and hence increase its value.
◦◦ the developments so far are impressive
◦◦◦ Ethereum co-founder dumped a whooping sum which isn't cool.
1, why POS is a proven fail, hundreds of pos coins created in 2014 where are the now, even the father of all started trading at $0.40 and now years later halved in price https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/peercoin/
2, how so? still unlimited supply, switch to pos suppose to happen at beginning of 2018 now 2020 and still has not happened, scaling not sorted lots of talk talk talk no action
3, well he knows whats up

Cheesy worries over holding will not amount to good, so, let's stop the worry and be focused to the positive side of Ethereum. We all know that, the development currently going in Ethereum network will need more time to prove its worth. Personally, am holding my portfolios, most especially that of the Ethereum.

Looking at the plans of Ethereum and developments coming up, I would say it is near to a sleeping man rather than giant. If we see a spring like before when all the new projects were choosing ETH for their coin, ETH will not go up. If new projects starts accepting the developments of ETH then we may see some movement. I would say the POS update will bring in at least some new members to the community.

Everything being equal, the switch to POS should bring in new Ethereum supporters and hence increase its value. If I say ETH is a sleeping giant, I won't be exaggerating since the developments so far are impressive, even though some Ethereum co-founder dumped a whooping sum which isn't cool. The future will tell anyway, we can't be very sure about our opinions in crypto.

As of now, we cannot still confirm that Ethereum is totally falling down cause it looked like that way back but all of a sudden, it was able to regain its position from being next on bitcoin. You should take it as an opportunity while Ethereum's value si still low to buy lots of it and wait for the value to increase as bitcoin halving occurs. Let us all stay optimistic about Eth because it has all the potential of becoming more successful in the future togethere with bitcoin.

As Ethereum marked the third anniversary of its genesis block on July 30th, has it made enough progress to ward off upstart challengers like EOS or Hashgraph, or just created a platform for them to leapfrog into the next generation of blockchain? So Ethereum good move slowly slowl.
Too slow thay if they failed to make it good it will be worste investment for investors. Ethereum platform is good idea no doubt about it but the problem is the people using the platform . If vitalik cant control many tokens created using thier platform it will end nothing and it will lose interest of neq potential investors that is serious about thier investment.
there are many Scam projects that make Ethereum a home, and this makes Ethereum's image worsen, I strongly agree if Vitalik makes regulations to prevent many scam projects, if it is done I am sure that ethereum will slowly recover

I wouldn't call it an intelligent insight but I was skeptical of alts, including ETH in 2019. After seeing how they still make crazy movement during this month, I'm eager to believe that some major alts like ETH does have a future in crypto. Especially looking at its development.

I'm not sure how the market will react to ETH going full PoS, maybe it is already priced in but I doubt so, anyway I like the spirit behind it, to stop wasting energy. I hope the development of Casper will be done within a year or two, this could give ETH a massive boost.

Ethereum has never been called a sinking ship, it will only become once people are abandoning the chain and projects are moving to another chain, but it's not the case so far, they may be quiet right now, and that includes the price but not for long, they are still on target once Ethereum POS start moving things are going to change.
The only reason why I continue to believe in ETH is a successful update that took place at the beginning of this year. All 2019 I was sure that this project could not continue to exist and I was waiting for an update. The update was successful and they did not move the deadlines, that's why I did not sell all of my ETH immediately.
Well, maybe your only reason is a common reason for ethereum holders up to this point, if ethereum and the media don't give this event, perhaps we have abandoned ethereum long ago because patience is not always infinite, it can only stop at a certain level, in the past, ethereum has gained a lot of trust from people but over the years, it has used nearly all of that belief and hasn't created anything new. This event is probably the last to determine ethereum's next path, hopefully ethereum won't keep quiet as nearby tiny people are starting to grow and come close to it

The current price of the ethereum is on the dump state. But I am hoping that it is just sleeping and preparing itself to have a bull run like what will happen on bitcoin. For sure when the price of bitcoin rises up, the other coins including ethereum will increase its price also since they are dependent on the market movement of bitcoin.
Just to be clear if ethereum is going to depend on bitcoin skyrocketing to go up in value then it is never going to grow up as everyone is expecting, ethereum needs to begin to move independently or it is never going to reach its all time high again, but since 2017 this has not been the case and people are starting to doubt if this is ever going to happen again and even if it does it will not matter if you are not holding any ethereum at that time.
If we look at 2018 and 2019, ETH does not really provide results or provide benefits for those who hold the coin or it can be said that in that year we often see price reductions that occur which then make investors will certainly prefer to stay afloat or holding the coin and this is normal. Maybe this time it takes a factor that can drive the rising price of altcoin.

Actually it has been called such a few times by a few people. If people have said Bitcoin can die, surely people will also say the same about ETH;) In fact, even when people talked about the ETH flippening I was still thinking this wouldn't last, but in the end I saw it had potential and gave in. (I bet ETC people said it would sink in 2016).

Personally, I believe that Ethereum is currently the most promising coin of 2020. And while Ethereum is in sleep mode, it is possible to buy at a very competitive price. And according to analysts this year, Ethereum should surprise us. So there is a high probability that Ethereum will repeat the year 2017 and become even more expensive.

For me, ETH is a sleeping giant. Like what OP said about ETH 2.0. I think i can hold it longer until that time come. Like halving, i think 2.0 will bring ETH on next level, although not reach it's last ATH i think ETH can be pumped too in future.
The delay slowly decays all the hype though. I remembered when the announcement of ETH 2.0 everyone got so pumped but now it's rarely discussed. It seems the devs can't take advantage of the right momentum but instead keep delaying. Not that I'm complaining and to be honest I'm not a die hard fan of ETH but the lacks of progress is really such unfortunate thing.
You are right, but for me who only rely on news don't have any choice beside to believe it can make ETH pumped. Maybe it will almost like bitcoin with halving which make me believe bitcoin pumped too. And both of that coin i will hold longer.
I don't think that ETH is a sinking ship because as you can see in the market almost all crypto is experiencing downfall right now but when we think on a good side, just look on how ETH survived and even making itself good whether the market is not good as of now. That is because of its famousness and its platform making every investor profitable. Maybe halving is a good idea but ETH is different from bitcoin.

right now, I feel what you feel. I want to sell the ETH I have for bitcoin, but on the other hand I want to buy the ETH and multiply it. to be honest, the development of ETH is not so great for now, but when the price of bitcoin goes up, the price of ETH - BTC also goes up, even, when the price goes up above $ 500 it is already extraordinary. it's just that, until now there has been no sign for it, even for ETH 2.0. we really cannot blame vitalik in this matter, because the development for ETH is based on demand and needs.
