I’ve been into Bitcoin since 2014. It’s always been my main thing, however I’ll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

Now I find myself in a situation where I really believe in Ethereum as the only other viable project. I’ve been accumulating Ether to the point where now I’m 80% BTC, 10% Eth and, 10% USDC (prepared to buy more BTC when the time is right).

I’m preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I can’t see ethereum really disappearing. It’s the only crypto that I’ve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. I’m concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

Any intelligent insights on this forum? Not a pissing match, not a shitcoin shill session. Just honest feelings about Ethereum from other veterans in the space.
The demand is on the investors so we can say that Ethereum is a is a sleeping giant even if the founders dump their holdings.

Just keep on buying as the market will surely recover and right now eth still in 2nd position, the risk in investing eth is not that high compared to other currencies.

Actually 10% of Eth in your portfolio is still low, even some bad things are happening on Ethereum, we cannot take out the fact, that this is the first smart contract, transaction is fast and cheap and most of all so many tokens are relying on Ethereum smart contract, but of course, as a holder your analysis is the on thing that matters, whether to sell or to hodl.

Very many investors have high hopes for ETHEREUM, because ETH is considered as one of the most popular ALTCOIN and has very good potential. After reaching the peak of its glory in 2017, until now ETH has not shown any sign of reviving.
Some people still hope ETH is able to change the situation when eth 2.0 is launched, but if that doesn't happen, then Eth will continue to sleep and will even sink further.

Not only popular but eth is also in the rank 2 of the top crypto currency thats why there are many people still believe in it .all do the price continue declining after the ATH and never return back. The hope of the investors is still there but the question is if they can hold it  and how long  if theres another bear market come.

If I were you, I would keep holding the dominating position of Bitcoin in portfolio, but I would buy Ethereum as well. In my opinion, ETH is a good option for diversification of the portfolio, so it is okay to keep 10% of funds in Ethereum.

Yes and sad to say that those high hopes lead the founder take it for granted, as he knew that people are aware that this last month will have a better price for Ethereum so many people bought it wishing something good news will happen that time, but sad to say that it didn't happen instead the founder itself have sold before people will.

After Vitalik or ethereum owner sell his assets during 2018 make ethereum have lower price and hard get back what fantastic price in 2017 above $1,500, now we need Vitalik to back up his coin by buying back and re invest again with ethereum, without buy back and make new update progress like hard fork very difficult looking for ethereum have higher price again.

Ethereum have sleep well more than last two years with lower price, now have new year ethereum have been come back with higher price and forget with bad moment last two year to raise on higher price, always have second chance for getting profit with ethereum and halving time looks close hope can give positive side for ethereum back on their position again with higher price.
Some big names in the market are having different speculations but wondering that they are all optimistic about the possible growth of Ethereum.

https://coinswitch.co/news/ethereum-price-prediction-2020-2021-2022-2025-latest-eth-price-prediction-ethereum-news-update

They expect that the continuous growth/spread of Ethereum globally will help to push its price higher next year. I believe it was meant to happen but of course, this is all just speculation, nothing exactly will happen. But remembering that we reach to almost $1k, not wondering if this will happen again once we are in full recovery.

It's not a sinking ship but it's no longer a sleeping giant. Let's admit it that we've expected much with ethereum but mostly it became a failure to most. I'm still have my last ethereums on hold and willing to wait until I can see the price becomes acceptable for me to sell.
I'm still optimistic that ETH could show its market dominance among altcoins. Yes, Ethereum is not a sleeping giant anymore but consider it a sinking ship if people will never risk their money for investment. The future of this certain is only in the hands of the investors but of course, the devs have had a big role for this in order to turn back its potentiality.
Just like bitcoin, there are holders that are not willing to sell at any price. The developer that sold and plunged the price back to the current we have is desperate and is probably in need of money. We have no choice but to remain optimistic until we sell it at a satisfying price soon.
The future isn't just with the investors but it's more with the developers and how they'll show the development of it to us.
That is what matters at the end of the day. We should not care if the developers sold their ethereum at the peak price because maybe that is their way to secure their funding for the further developments. There is still a long road for ethereum to go through and that means there will be more developments as it will evolve into a giant cryptocurrency that could possible replace bitcoin in total market capitalization.

ETH is the king of Altcoin.
no ship sank, There are no sleeping giants. ETH follows the trend of the Bitcoin price if Bitcoin goes down ETH will also go down. Let's wait for some surprises that will be present in the market later, Especially for now the price of ETH is still too cheap, I make sure you all have some ETH for future investment.
Turning into it and let events on 2020 be the one that will push the price of it higher.

ETH does have potential and may make such an opinion come out because ETH is still trapped in the current price range and has not managed to grow in price. but if we see from its potential then I am also sure that ETH is still waiting for time, and if you are sure to invest then find the right time to start

Ethereum can pump again when the bear market has come. hopefully next year after bitcoin is reduced by half bitcoin can pump and make the altcoin market green again. I could only suggest you hold some ethereum while you can sell the other ethereum, and back to bitcoin to hold. I think ethereum has a chance to increase, especially if the next update is run better because people will see how good the next update. I think ETH is pretty good in the future, when Etherem 2.0 really works, we can wait for the price to be high and sell for profit, don't try to do Staking because Ethereum's team will soon be pushing the price down.

$100M eth is a big deal if i must say but at the same time, i must confess that eth is a strong coin that has been able to stand the test of time. I don't think the stolen eth can stop me from investing in eth but i will just be smart about it.

The problem of most young analysts is the orientation not on the general dynamics of the market, but on its short-term indicators. Ethereum is one of the founding projects in the crypto industry.
Thanks to it, ICOs so beloved earlier by all became possible. In addition, a huge community of developers allows projects to constantly improve and go to new levels.
The fact that the price of Ethereum has been growing for a long time is associated with the stagnation of the entire market, and not just Ethereum in particular.

Who sold all of their Ethereum in late 2017, they did the right thing! Whoever held ETH to see when Ethereum price hit 2K USD, they, we were greedy! By seeing this year's movement, It seems Ethereum is sinking the ship! Ethereum is a giant coin, no doubt here but they really losing huge popularity! The hard fork couldn't save Ethereum, I don't feel Ethereum 2.0 network upgrade would do that! I am still holding Ethereum and waiting when Ethereum proves me wrong! ETH should gain a higher price with Bitcoin growth like before!

I think I am more inclined on the latter part - eth as sleeping giant. Eth development team is still in continuous pursuit of making their ecosystem usable by many entities. And the good part in my opinion is that, Vitalik will not let his platform die for nothing. It is like his precious baby so I strongly believe that there are more good things coming for ethereum network.
