I believe and feel that ETH will be giant, better than BTC, of course I have doubts and want to buy BTC because it more stable, but believe ETH will show us big growth - thats my opinion!
for a large growth, of course, it will happen. we have waited a very long time and now I think is the beginning of that growth to occur. but as you said, to be better than bitcoin I don't think that's possible.

For me, ETH is a sleeping giant. Like what OP said about ETH 2.0. I think i can hold it longer until that time come. Like halving, i think 2.0 will bring ETH on next level, although not reach it's last ATH i think ETH can be pumped too in future.
The delay slowly decays all the hype though. I remembered when the announcement of ETH 2.0 everyone got so pumped but now it's rarely discussed. It seems the devs can't take advantage of the right momentum but instead keep delaying. Not that I'm complaining and to be honest I'm not a die hard fan of ETH but the lacks of progress is really such unfortunate thing.
You are right, but for me who only rely on news don't have any choice beside to believe it can make ETH pumped. Maybe it will almost like bitcoin with halving which make me believe bitcoin pumped too. And both of that coin i will hold longer.

its not a sinking ship nor a sleeping giant
last time i checked it was awaken giant that in the second place by market cap
it will go higher but not as much as it already did

All are still speculating and there's no assurance whether it will pumped high after this year or it will remain at this level.
Depends from how the market will push thru no one can exactly answer this question as even the developers can't push
investors and supporters to buy and hold their coin,.

For some reason or another, either dont care or not capable of the defs seem to have lost control.
The move to pos suppose to a long long time ago, new day new promise.
Inflation still out of control, the initial sales pitch was that there will be 92 million in total
Scaling is a lot of talk and promises but no action to see.
One project fail after another ‘Homestead’, ‘Metropolis’, ‘Serenity’
That sleeping giant its on its dead bed, the creator already sold some to organize procession.

I could only suggest holding some ethereum while selling the other ethereum and holding back to bitcoin. I think ethereum has an opportunity to grow, especially if the next update is running better as people will see how good the next update is. But if the next update isn't what they're looking for, ethereum will need much longer time to get back up. It will be up to you to hold some ethereum and sell it or hold all ethereum until the next release of the update. I believe it has a lot of potential to make people profit

I am more likely to consider ethereum a sleeping giant than a sinking ship.
Indeed, even if there is a survey taken , majority would say that it's a sleeping giant.

Soon we should see another improvement of this coin called Ethereum 2.0. If they are successful, then the sleeping giant may wake up.
Ethereum has been falling in price, like all altcoins, and, in addition, has lost popularity due to the falling popularity of ICO projects. However, it will still change.
That would certainly bring boost to the price of ETH, it's possible to rise $1,000 if the pump is real, like BSV, hype could possibly happen as people think of a bull market, actually we have a great start this year, so it's not impossible that ETH will rise as the market stays bullish.

let's say 500 usd is achievable this year, that would already bring a good percentage of profit.

I think seeing ETH as a sinking ship or a sleeping giant depends on many factors.  The first thing is that the steady growth of the market will bring a growth for ETH.  Regarding the technology and promised improvements of ETH, it is necessary to convert working evidence from Prof of Word to Prof of stake and limit the amount of ETH provided to ETH.  With the current announcement, the total supply of ETH is limitless.  It is these issues that have not brought ETH price increases recently.

You cannot blame Vitalik and his team selling at all time high, they need funds as well to continue development of the project itself. As you have said, ethereum is already a main factor on the crypto market so it will not go dump without very huge reasons like they cant transition their network to POS. But as for me, I still believe in ethereum that they will continue to impress people in the coming years, ethereum keeps on building they never stop.

If we look the situation right now we can say that ETH is like a sleeping giant because all we see that bitcoin is already recovering it's good price so based on past experienced if the price value of bitcoin is increasing,on the other side eth's price will decrease so practically you can sell your eth to invest in bitcoin.

Why is everyone divided into two camps regarding ethereum? Someone worships him, someone bury him. Very strange. I always stuck to the position, if they are talking about something, both good and bad, then this is something worthwhile. Because it is impossible to please everyone, but it is possible to hook everyone, this is exactly what Ethereum did. Everyone speaks of him, although he has been the second coin for many years, but conversations have begun quite recently.

The current price of the ethereum is on the dump state. But I am hoping that it is just sleeping and preparing itself to have a bull run like what will happen on bitcoin. For sure when the price of bitcoin rises up, the other coins including ethereum will increase its price also since they are dependent on the market movement of bitcoin.

Don't forget Ethereum was once trailing around $60 and now it has almost increased by three folds, there is more to come and IO think Ethereum will definitely rise to a new level as the value of bitcoin has already started to increase and as per my knowledge once Ethereum's value is increased it does not need any support from bitcoin for atleast 3 months, just take the first quarter of 2018 for example.

Ethereum at this moment is priced at $176.07, not bad for its price before which is relatively lower than today. In addition, it is not just Ethereum not getting the momentum but most of the cryptos are getting bullish as they follow the step bitcoin is taking into. But what is evident to the market right now is that, most of the investment cryptocurrency is getting huge in value, compared to those that are potential crypto for daily transactions such as stable coins USDT, Tether  and more.

You should think twice about selling your Eth for BTC. It may not be very good at the moment, but it will be a great opportunity for you shortly. Just buy Eth I'm also buying Eth left a lot

Bitcoin and Eth should not be an issue at all, they are worthy to be in anyone's portfolios, it's a very bad decision to sell one and buy the other, keep both coins, diversification is always a good decision, don't listen to FUDS or shills, look at what happen to Bitcoin SV everybody though Bitcoin SV will get pass Ethereum, look at the market now, Eth still is on top.

Has any one checked the market share of Ethereum lately? Ethereum now accounts for just 7% of all the cryptocurrency market capitalization (compared to 31% in June 2017). The trends indicate that this share may further go down and there is a real threat of ETH losing its position as the no.2 cryptocurrency. The developers are also not helping. They are postponing timelines again and again and as a result the users have lost their confidence in Ethereum. The perfect example is that of Ethereum 2.0. No one really knows when it will be rolled out.
ETH just get old real quick, their whole market is built up from the hype of smart contract back then and right now it's still a thing because they are popular enough to make almost all exchanges accept them thus giving broader chance of garnering the capitals though it's now slowly sinking.
Delay in ETH 2.0 will just spell their downfall and increase the lingering doubt among the community whether this coin is still worth it or not.
Delay might be negative but that would only make the price to go down and give us the opportunity to buy cheaper again.
Look at BSV now, people were thinking that CSW is fake but BSV just made a new ATH in just 24 hours.

This means we can never tell, as long as the project stays, they could rise anytime.
Anything can happen, but if ethereum needs something similar to what happened to BSV to go up in price then ethereum is really done, it needs to go up because its developers are working hard to improve their coin but many investors are seeing the opposite, it is as if they do not care and all the excitement that at the beginning ethereum generated seems to be gone and it is difficult to tell if things are going to change after so much time in which the coin has remained almost static.
