If that rumour is true, the price would have been $50 or $100, not just $18 now. But that is a good rumour any way.

The key word in the rumour is 'quietly'. Large bulk orders would indeed spike the price but spike it even for the banks. Which, knowing banks and bankers, they don't want.

Can't agree more. Buy bulks in discreet if that's what you are plannning to do. That way you won't alarm the big guys.

I am a better seller at current levels as well. Also a little worried about downstream impact on ether price if the DAO starts to flounder and lose steam.

That is not a mistake, that is just learn curve. I sold most of my Ethereum when the price of 1.1 dollar.

It's okay, Lesson should be learn, that is trading and the best thing to keep in mind is that don't worry to much when price goes down as there will still be a corresponding opposite effect of it, but the thing is we don't know when will it be, Good luck on your next trading mate.

I am pretty sure that ETH will still go up but not for now maybe a couple of months as there are a lot of great alt coins that had been released and going to be release.

Your right that ETH is too different from BTC since ETH is just an alt-coin that are also based on the best cryptocurrency which is BTC.

When it regards to LISK, I think LISK are too far from affecting the ETH since LISK doesn't have the good result after it's launch as we can see now it is struggling to rise and are currently tied to its normal based price now due to lack of investors, and It will take a very long time for it to match ETH, Maybe you can consider the Waves as WAVES have a great promised features and does have a great specifications, great founder and a lot of ICO participants.
