In my opinion, everything will remain as it was, the BTC will not give way, but for ETH it is a very bright future in which it is a serious competitor for BTC
In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency. I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.
Ethereum had overtaken Bitcoin in terms of Speed and scalability but the only Bitcoin's advantage is the market capital.
My theory is that people are so obsessed Bitcoin because most of Bitcoin investors bought it when it was already in the moon and they don't like Bitcoin stumble on the ground again so they would preserve Bitcoin's reputation and value until it will surge up to mars and up to Neptune.
But I don't really think that Bitcoin could hold it's seat as the strongest Cryptocurrency in the market and Ethereum will do surpass any Bitcoin's aspects but I'm pretty sure it will happen in the future, not today, not this month, not this year and of course not forever.
Ethereum will soon will be ranked as the most important Cryptocurrency in the market.
I agree with you, that ethereum will overtake bitcoin. because now the ethereum is stronger than bitcoin, so I believe ethereum has a great chance to overtake bitcoin, so if you want to invest i sugest you to invest in ethereum.
Propably ethereum will overtake bitcoin because the blockchain of bitcoin is very clogged due to billions of transaction everyday. This is the reason mostly many people jumping on holding ethereum than bitcoin. One thing that many people love on ethereum is minimal transaction fees and fast blockchain. Many exchangers worldwide is planning to add ethereum to fiat because of the very big community wordwide.
I would like to believe that ethereum will overtake bitcoin. But in my opinion this will not happen this year. Bitcoin has too strong a position.

I have the same view with you on Ethereum .The fee for bitcoin is too high , its network is out of date , but the core team reject to update it.I heard some of the companies don't accept the payment of bitcoin like they did before.That's not a good news to bitcoin.

You can see that the last days BTC prices have fallen with the ETH rate down. I think that BTC is still valid at present. The market is expanding and there are lots of new crytocurrency and can replace the position of ETH and BTC. The future is not known in the next 10-20 years.

Ethereum has the possibility to rise on the market, but I think it can't overtake bitcoin even though the market is on crash. Ethereum has a lot of potential because it is the platform of most of the ICOs, on the other hand, Bitcoin have proven it's worth as the leading crypto, it is known and used all around the world.

After such amount of dips in crypto market Ethereum has real chance to reinforce it rate to Bitcoin. And I think it will.
It already did, last spring I believe - by real usage/number of daily transactions. Today it's 5x. Marketcap is just one measure, and that one is a matter of time as people start entering blockchain via ETH, bypassing Bitcoin from the equation or as ETH scales to be able to handle more transactions. Demand is certainly there.
Now, in 2018 I don't have any doubts, that it would really happen in the nearest future(I think in April). What do you think about that, watching the situation now?
I don't think that Etherium will ever overtake Bitcoin. It has become the center flow of all the cryptocurrencies and no other currency can replace it as it has already put its roots everywhere in the market. Ethereum is a very strong, favorable and promising currency, it's value and the price is vigorously increasing. Not as fast as Bitcoin but somehow ETH's price is at a stable surging pace and it is rank 2nd only to BTC in terms of price in the modern market. But I think it won't overtake Bitcoin.
Maybe that ETH will be higher bitcoin, but now and in the near time, bitcoin will remain the leader among the crypto currency.
I really in doubt it will happen. Bitcoin is still the main crypto currency and it will remain to be.
everyone thought that bitcoin is a bubble and burst, but it starts to recover, I think the ether will not overtake a couple more years! but there it will be seen
ethereum and bitcoin are the most popular and currently occupy the leading positions, but no one knows for sure which coin will become the №1 in the future. the market of crypto-currencies is not predictable, so no one will answer this question with accuracy.
Bitcoin is the first actually, but Ethereum and others icos connected with it make Ethereum more flexible and viable for all kind of users all aorund the world, you can just see the growing interest in new icos from few months ago, the btc rise in december its just an facilitatori for that
i dont know really if ethereum will overtake bitcoin, but will be more similar as market price and capitalization, just wait and see whats ahappens in this year
