Bitcoin is the 1st decentralized crypto currency. I don't think anyone can argue otherwise. Before BTC on the internet you could find some digital money but nothing like Bitcoin.

That is right. But the bitcoin is becoming more expensive in terms of the transaction fees. So it might be replaced.

after microsoft stop to accept bitcoin, any chance microsoft will accept etherum..? and etherum will be 1st cryptocurrency..?

Only microsoft start accepting ethereum and droping bitcoin will not make ethereum a 1st cryptocrurrency as bitcoin will always remain as first crypto to exist in this world. I am also not seeing microsoft accepting ethereum in even 1 year from now on.

The first currency will be the bitcoin. It is built as a currency. Ethereum is for the smart contract system.

I agree with that totally. The Bitcoin is the reserve currency in the digital world. Ethereum is the money for application.

ETH is just a follower of bitcoin indeed, I do believe that it will never beat BTC. Aside from its popularity, most users prioritize bitcoin than ETH, that's the fact. But somehow ETH can be use for trading and convert to BTC.
Yeah your right ethereum is altcoin its just alternative coins for bitcoins. bitcoins is our main coin and bitcoin is already held in any company stores.. like brazil 150 store are now accepting bitcoins as payment..

ETH will later be accepted by companies as well, Microsoft had already started accepting it. I won't be surprise if the rest of the companies that accepts btc will also start accepting ETH.
There are already gambling sites too. it won't be long..

The Etheruem will be useful in the smart contract system. But it will not be the first crypto currency.

Nah, there's no way Eth would beat bitcoin. Bitcoin has like 7 years ahead of Eth.

I see your point. We can say "MySpace" "MySpace" "MySpace" until we're blue in the face, but that comparison does have a sell-by date.

It also has a big counterexample. Ever since eBay achieved critical mass about fifteen years ago, its dominance has never been threatened: not once. It's still the #1 online auction house and it's going to stay #1 for the foreseeable future.

Nope. But Ethereum being one of the prominent altcoins on the long term (though ETH technically isn't a coin) is a real possibility. The new 'silver', as Litecoin once was ... !

Litecoin is still the silver and will probably be for a long long time, sorry to break it to you.

The market cap of litecoin has been lower than Ethereum for more than two months, why do you say so?

I feel bad you have to ask that question.  The ethereum paradox is a pandemic for get rich quickers and pump n dumpers who flood the economy with a junk coin that absolutely has no use right now.  Rootstock on the bitcoin blockchain will dominate and ethereum will fade in the dark with all the others.  Wake up people.

Denial is the first stage of sour grapes

Lol, right back at you.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are very different. So, I do not think that is even possible to compare them in a right way. Bitcoin is more than Gold. Ethereum however or more the gas or oil which you are use to boost something.

I suppose it is possible but I can not imagine if ETH beat bitcoin in this regard. I think if ETH developed for the better, then bitcoin developed better than eth. I guess no one can beat bitcoin in this case

Totally agree with you.
Bitcointalk members are always trying to compare different things and betting which one will prevail at the end...
in my opinion they both will grow with time and both will have more value along the years.

Maybe not first crypto currency but first alt crypto currency.....after Lisk of course !

How can that be? Lisk does not even have a working coin yet.
Lisk is a year and a half behind.

Not exactly, before Lisk there was Crypti....
