Smart contract will help ETH to be the first, i can see DAO first use ETH for funding. Later ETH will be used by different projects in the future and thats just the start where it will surpass bitcoin's achievement.

It is too fast for ethereum become first crypto currency, due to ethereum is new coin and bitcoin too. Ethereum will be tested for first time by supply and demand.

Yes first alt crypto currency but not after Lisk, in my opinion Etherium is far more superior than Lisk and there have a post here on altcoin discussion that Lisk is just a hype coin and they have people to hype the coin glad that I did not invest here..

Ethereum will not be the number one currency. I will main use it to make smart contract. I will use bitcoin to buy things.

Yeah nothing will replace bitcoin especially now it's getting more popular and more progressive. Etherum is just a follower of btc. Let me correct the topic title guys, I just noticed it should be "ETHEREUM", not "ETHERUM".

I don't think Ethereum will be the first coin or take over Bitcoins place.
They are both here to stay Bitcoin is the gold and Ethereum is the Oil.
They made that comparison themselves as well.
I like this analogy. However, i have lost faith in Vitalik for selling off his coins. Shows he does not beleive in the long term prospects of the project.
To answer the topic title, is no. Bitcoin is still and will always be number one. ETH is just an altcoin of BTC. BTC is most popular crypto currency among ETH and other alt coins.
I agree with this. Bitcoin is the reserve currency of the digital currency world. Most people will own it.

I think Ethereum has a lot of potential for other things than just exchanging value. We have to wait and see if there´s any great app built on top of it. Also i think bitcoin it´s always going to be ahead of ETH in terms of volume,price,...etc
There is no chance for Ethereum to be the first Crypto Currency. Bitcoin is the most familiar Crypto Currenty from time to time while Ethereum is only a new altcoins that we cant guarantee how long this coin can survive. And nowadays, Ethereum price is in the downtrend and soon or later everybody will start to forget this coin.
I think one NO from Microsoft is not such a big deal. They will change their minds one day. I voted for no, eth is nice coin I earned od that coin, but now its falling. I'm thinking to wait a bit more and maybe buy it again. But all that is same game like with other alt coins, for me bitcoin will always be number 1 crypto currency.
I agree. A lot of ETH transaction is done using bitcoin , not fiat. Now, BTC is still the strongest and most used since it's the most accepted everywhere. 
No real trader cares about awards only price action. Never fall in love with an investment, you need to be ready to sell if your alarm bells are ringing. Right now Ether is treading water. I would not invest a farthing unless .037 is taken out on Kraken and a new uptrend is established. There may yet be more money to be made, but not right now.
The Ethereum is consolidating at the moment. If after two months, and the price breaks 0.04, I will buy some.

Because Ether is in a downtrend. Been trading a long time? Wait until a new uptrend is established and price breaks through previous all time high. Ether is acting like a pump and dump right now.
Ethereum has always been a pump and dump coin. If you expect it will go up again, there is no reason to wait for it to rise first, you're better off buying lower.
I'm more surprised by the current rise in bitcoin, without ethereum dropping further. If ethereum were to drop further bitcoin will go up much more again.
Ethereum is a good cryptocurrency but it will not overcome the Bitcoin. Bitcoins are spreading a lot and a lot of shops and websites accept them. As I can see at the moment Ethereums are only accepted by some crypto-related websites...
