I think that anything can happen. If Bitcoin's team cannot solve Bitcoin's weaknesses about fee and transaction speed, I believe that it can be replaced by another coin.
Hello Folk, is it the time for ethreum to lead from the front ? As bitcoin is going through rough ride along with other altcoins but ethreum is turning out to be more stable platform for investment and also new ICO's are based on ethreum. Do you think Ethreum will dethrone bitcoin from 1st rank of crypto this year?
It has always be the king, at least for me. Technically is far superior to bitcoin, asic resistant and far more in line with the original idea of its creators and very welll supported by developers.
As much as I support ETH, I don't think it's the king of crypto. I think it's doing well and has a good future, but I think something else will move in and take over BTC. I'm not sure what yet. Maybe SYS. But definitely something.

This year, ethereum will not overtake bitcoin, it's too early for that. But I think that it will be possible in the next year or in a year. 
For me it was always the main coin, considering how many smart developers are involved in the project. Just now it has become obvious.

In this period of time i will say that no they will not be the king of cryptocurrency as long as the bitcoins are still here functioning very well. But they can be the king of altcoins because they are the leading altcoins here today because they really have a great platform and a great to use but he fact that the bitcoins are the much older and much first thing to come rather than them then they are the most loved coin compared to ethereum.

we know now that Ethreum becomes altcoin number 1, now many projects are working with Ethreum and receive investment use ETH.

No it is not the time for Ethereum to be the king of crypto. It needs another unique innovation to replace bitcoin. Ethereum also needs to resolve the issue on clogging of transaction like what happened in kitty token.
Now more than ever, it can become the main coin. Many people start to go to alternative elections after BTC began to show unstable growth rates.

I think it is hard to realize and the king of the market will still be btc. We may see it being the king severals years later.For sure, I don't think it's gonna happen as quick as many people expect.

The new crypto king is absolutely eth. When we look at the increasing demands in recent periods, the result is also emerging. Eht get money. 
Its a far stretch yet to imagine or foresee ethereum as the new king of crypto. Bitcoin is still the unmatched leader, the preferred favorite coin of most investors entering crypto, so backed strongly by personal interest and investment both.
It is too early to say that ethereum will be the king. it still need years to get crowned. And there are also other contender that has strong value such like waves, neo and ltc.
I agree that it takes more than a year for it to overtake btc but i don't think the other contenders stand much a chance. ETH is already ahead compared to others.
It seems that Ethereum will soon bypass bitcoin on capitalization. And this is not surprising, since Ethereum is a young coin compared to bitcoin, which has huge potential for further rise.
That's true, day by day Ethereum is becoming a new king of the crypto world.I believe that Ethereum will be able to beat bitcoin and be the first currency in terms of capitalization, Ethereum is going strong because it is a platform for crypto currency and crypto apps.its currently going through hard times but this is same to all other cryptos. it is very successful project.
Not actually to beat bitcoins. if you are going to count on the total users who are started knowing bitcoins it is the best currency that you can trust and worth to hold for long term. Ethereum is surely a good next to bitcoins and it may never replace bitcoins as king unless if Ethereum can dump all coins evern bitcoins once it up or down. Jump to:
