Though Manchester United are not playing very well at the moment they are still a powerhouse in European football and their game against Juventus is going to be very good to watch as long as Jose Mourinho doesn’t play defensively the whole game.

Arsenal, Milan and many other big names of the Europa League win in this round this passing thursday. The surprise was Sevilla not managing to win which is a team which has won a lot of times the Europa League and also has been finalist many other times.

Arsenal is another pretender in my opinion as last year had the bad luck to meet Atletico Madrid in semi finals.
For me as a fan of A.C. Milan I honestly did see that they have struggled during their match against Olympiacos which they held Milan scoreless for the first half. Yes they scored 3 goals for there comeback but it was not in the start of the 70th minute when is started going in there way. Milan by now should be compos after this group stage as I honestly see that they will be dominating their group as there is really no competition , the real competition will start in the playoffs round which Milan will face some big names in Europe.

I'll agree Ac Milan were sluggish in the start but they did played well to score the three goals, I hope this international break helps them recover and come back stronger. I remember the olden days of Kaka where Ac Milan were simply brilliant. It'll be interesting to see how they cope going ahead. Arsenal are a very strong team under their new coach, and this team looks like they can go on and win the trophy.

It's mostly the bigger teams who always seems to spoil bets a lot when they should be winning at their home ground that's when they do the most abysmal  thing answer the proceed to lose look at Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for example this week.

Most of these knockout competitions are precarious unlike the league games so I rather prefer betting on league games to be safer unless an obvious prediction involving a game between a very big team a weak one.
That's why i usually bet on over goals for Europa league match, usually both teams can make goals easily. It's different from the league games.

For me this one quite difficult, yeah, he could & should save it but I won't blame him that much.

Was Mignolet that bad that replacement was needed? I remember it was kind of surprise that Karius started appearing in LFC 1st team. And since very beginning he had problems with playing with his feet.

Mignolet had good periods but just when you think he’s sorted himself out & left the errors behind him he’d do something stupid & cost us points. Obviously nothing as high profile as Karius literally losing us the CL Final. I spent thousands in last seasons CL run, he broke my heart & I’ll always remember him for that.

On Mignolet he’s probably slightly too good to be a number two but he likely won’t be a number one at a big club once he goes presumably in the summer.

Alisson, De Gea, Courtois, Oblak, Ederson are all much better.

So Celtic slumped, and Bordeaux leveled only to lose a goal late. Not looking good for the latter, whom I tipped to go far, not sure on this basis if they'll survive the group but look at Rangers! Group leaders with 4 points and arguably already met the tough opponents, fans will be delighted to wait a decade to see this. Probably 1 more win enough to progress.

Looking swell for English teams too, even though hardly recognised the Arsenal goalscorers. London teams will fancy their chances at the final.

1 more night till what matters tomorrow back in England!

Did you see Karius last night, the bastard was at it again -

He’s not content ruining LFC fans dreams, he’s taken his shit to Turkey now.

My parlay on Arsenal/RB Leipzig/Milan are doing well, even if the Italians had to sweat till 70th minute before going on a 3-goal rampage in 9 minutes.

Congrats man, what were the odds?

Just about x3.6x which for me was pretty low actually, considering that anything can happen in Europa when teams like Arsenal field second-string players. Haven't really made good on spectacular parlays > x10 this season, but netting a few good ones between x4 and x6 thanks to Europe competition.

I'm leaning towards a City win, but I'm gonna hedge my bet by throwing in s small bet on the draw.  That way the only for me to lose is if LFC wins.  Grin

I've been experimenting on some hedging lately.  It wins less but it lowers variance, which can be a b*tch sometimes.

City are definitely still the favourites, looking at the odds. Haven't actually changed much since last season's encounters so I guess Liverpool's improvements in depth and consistency are balanced out by their recent form, and the fact that this is the final game of their run of 7 tough games. I'm bound by sentiment and foolhardiness to continue to back them, but the 2x odds mean I won't be putting extra money.

City are trying some mind games on a small scale... Gundogan saying this will be their toughest game of the season. No argument that this is the game of the season so far. So much at stake with only the 8th game. Whatever the result, just want the Reds to enjoy themselves and get a bit of the old diesel flowing.

I'll try and stay quiet tomorrow and just watch the game in peace.

How was Salah...?  I guess he didn't show up again?  Lol.  I'd be expecting some people to question if his last season's performance all a fluke.  It's too early to tell now, but it won't be around December.

City should be smelling blood right now too...

Salah was poor, really poor. One thing I noticed, at full time he took his top off & he still has loads of strapping on his shoulder. Wonder if it’s still hurtng or something which is impacting his game?

On the game vs City, if offered a draw now I’d take it.

The men of Napoli won in their court against a bizarre opponent at a level that is the worst for him this season. Mani and Salah showed up at their wobbly level in the recent period, with very poor work from the team as a whole. They could not apply the high pressure well and the midfield was present by retrieving the ball. Neither physical work was up to the game nor even the backers were naturally focused in effective roles. The team as a whole was lost and scattered and played at a level that has been the weakest for the Reds for years. The next two rounds will be critical for Liverpool chances to advance.

I think Liverpool will likely beat Red Star twice & then they’d only need a point to advance. I think PSG will beat Napoli at Parc Des Princes & Napoli will end up 3rd in the group.

PSG & Liverpool are the two best teams in that group. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Man, I really thought Bordeaux were going to win Europa this season, but they're about to crash to another 0-1 defeat if they don't find a goal in the next 10 minutes to FC Copenhagen... mixed feelings about not betting on them in group stage, though they won be quite a bit of games in qualifications.

My parlay on Arsenal/RB Leipzig/Milan are doing well, even if the Italians had to sweat till 70th minute before going on a 3-goal rampage in 9 minutes.

Dangerous scorelines all over the place, not enough predictability of Over/Under 2.5s, balanced scoreless teams. Hoping Gerrard and Rangers pull another surprise, if they win they'll actually top group G! especially since Celtic are about to lose.

Exactly, my man. I noticed this every game since the friendlies, so I know for sure his should is still aching, and you can almost tell he doesn't go full-swing into his body-to-bodies anymore. Those injuries are really confidence-sapping... but he really isn't playing to even half his sharpness so something is clearly not clicking. Just give it time though. He needs a good streak of 2 or 3 games scoring and he'll be back.
