Another pathetic performance from the refs. Clear penalty not given to Marseille, and that corner was complete bullcrap. And people complained about the refs "helping" Real Madrid and the big teams when in fact the referees in the UEFA competitions have been absolute shit the entire season. Hopefully, we won't see this in the finals.
You're right. I'm angry to see when referees making such big mistakes which decide winner. I'm not a big fan of VAR, but I think it's necessary because referees are naking too many mistakes. And I don't know what goal line referees are doing - they are useless!
In upcoming World Cup VAR will be used. But there already was plenty of examples in other leagues when referees are still doing big mistakes while using VAR. And VAR can't help to decide there was corner or no.

Well, good thing I didn't follow up my bad bets in CL with my gut feeling on Europa last night. I'd have backed Arsenal to win, even though my personal hope is Athletico. No dream goodbye for Wenger, but possibly a final hurrah for Torres. Football moves so quickly and we see so many of the past generation bowing out.

But here's to the new generation of fluid attacking "storming" football in Europe, with Klopp and Liverpool showing the way.

They are toting this years Champions league final as the match up of Mo Salah against Marcelo.
Expecting alot of open ended passing and a high scoring match come the 26th of this month. Smiley

I thought it would be billed as the Ronaldo vs Salah... I know they already met with their national teams but since when do friendlies ever count, right? Wink

Would be a lovely final, but please Liverpool, spare us all the tension of Istanbul... my bets are firmly with you.

Liverpool reaches the final is a big surprise for me. I wish they will make another big surprise on 26th May. Liverpool performance looks so impressing recently and the chance to win the thropy is widely open.

Yes that's the fact we should have to weird, I do not really believe liverpool will go to the final, but this is the football we have to understand. But in the final I do not believe to liverpool will beat Real Madrid, I bet the final will be won by Real Madrid.

but as always the biggest reason for madrid winning is the refs I'm sure they will buy the refs again
yeah, the refs gave them the win in Paris (PSG), in Turin (Juventus), and in Munich (Bayern) /s

you sound like a salty Barcelona fan Roll Eyes
Lol what makes you say that you sound more like a madrid fan i never really support any team i just like watching the game if you see my precious posts i always wanted roma to win and atleast reach the finals and marcelo even admitted that it was a hand ball so please i don't have to be a barcelona fan to tell the truth

Life, Love and Laughter...
It saddens me that Arsene Wenger will retire from Arsenal without having won a trophy in his last season. I think he deserves it; but actually might be to blame. He should have just left two years ago after the FA Cup win. However, with this Europa blow, they have only themselves to blame for not winning the first leg and capitalizing on the one man advantage they had. I don't know, but I will say congratulations to Athletico for winning the Europa cup, I don't think Marseille will be a match for them.

Then you're prolly not an Arsenal fan.  Lmao.  All the Arsenal fans I know are so happy to finally see Wenger go.  Finishing top 4 year in, year out wasn't just enough for the fans...  Then they didn't even have that anymore the last couple of years.

Good riddance they say.

I would not hold my breath hoping for a better performance by the refs in the final Cheesy
I think there's hope. I don't remember a CL final being controversial because of the ref.

It is obvious that football needs:
2. VAR.
This is key. But I think the UEFA is taking the same approach as the EPL, waiting a bit more until the VAR proves that it can be a reliable. Perhaps the UEFA is waiting to see how VAR performs in the World Cup.

Saw the kick to his face with the ball and it going in as an own goal yesterday.
It was embarrassing for Milner but got Roma on the scoreboard and got them going. It must of saved many of gamblers who had both sides to score in relief for the first 30 minutes. Grin

There was nothing he could have done and I admire his sense of humor.

Liverpool, Atletico, and I guess Olympique (haven't been really paying attention to their games) well deserved their entry into the finals. Too bad that Liverpool's victory has been spoiled by bad refereeing.
Real, unfortunately, did not.

It is obvious that football needs:
1. Very clear rules leaving very little room for interpretation.
2. VAR.
3. Cleaning - and I mean bought of money laundering (some of the investors) and corruption (Serie A example being the most recent and evident example, but also Real who was, deliberately or not, awarded a pass against Bayern who was a much better team on the field and did deserve the victory even if their scoring was lousy and Navas was incredible).

Arsene Wenger is like going at the wrong time. Last night was a disappointing result for Arsenal and Wenger, he did not give the trophy to Arsenal in his final season, he instead gave the worst season for the arsenal. There is no Champions League for Arsenal next season.
Yeah, it sucks though their last try to get trophy this season vanish because of the loss against Atletico Madrid and also they lose only by 1 goal. I think it's because of the first leg, they can't make more goals against 10 players and without their coach too, very very stupid. What a sad ending to end for arsene wenger on arsenal.

I'm not sure I completely agree on the penalty but the corner was a no for me so I guess it evened itself out as they won in the end.

At times, some decent approach work from Arsenal tonight but the final ball was so very poor. Not good enough considering some of the big names in that line-up. Griezmann was very impressive and if he does end up at Barcelona, he will be a big asset for them.

Meh.
Interesting that Marseille were able to win considering they created literally nothing during the entire match, that corner call was meh but that's the sport Cheesy. Will be interesting to see what happens next. I do not have a lot of confidence in them.

At least atletico did their job and did it good as well.

Arsenal is actually playing quite well tonight but Atletico is one tough nut to crack. They are defending with all 11 players and just waiting for counter strike. I don't think there is a team in the world better at defending than Atletico. I would like to see Arsenal score a goal and match ends 1:1. That way we would have overtime and possible penalties.

I think Atletico Madrid is already qualified with tonight game. They just scored a wonderful goal in the last minutes of first half with an awesome counter attack. I doubt that Arsenal will have the strength to fight back under these circumstances although nothing have changed for them as they still need to score one goal and the same needed before they concede.
