I’m going to the Liverpool vs Man City 1st leg at Anfield. Had to pay £600 to get my hands ob 2 tickets, hopefully will be worth it though.

Come on you Reds!

Not su re if you guys are discussing specific games or predictions however this is what I'm thinking (betting) on for the upcoming quarters:

Juventus - Real
Sevilla - Bayern
Liverpool - City
Barcelona - Roma

What you guys think about that one? I know Liverpool may, or may not, be a wildcard but I have a feeling..
Liverpool difficult goes to next round but comparing the achievement between two coach Liverpool vs Man City on europe competitions that Guardiola has more good than Klopp and this is important challenge for Guardiola that whether he able or not to lifted champion league trophy with Manchester City because i'm pretty sure the owners has been a long time want this trophy

Liverpool - City is 50/50 chance of winning for either team. I think this is the most balanced match among all the quarter final games. I am not going to overthink it much and will just pick the team with the higher odds which is Liverpool @ 2.90. City to win is @ 2.37. Liverpool +0.5 is @ 1.8. I mean City have a monstrous team and all but Liverpool can dish out dangerous attacks with ease so anything could happen.

Uefa have introduced some new rules for the Champions league and Europa league from next season. They most notable one is that players who undergo January tranfer can still play in the knockout phase of the competition even though they have played for a different club in the group stages, which is before the January transfer window.

More here: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43555381

Rumors also say that there is an idea that uefa will change the old rule of the player turnover. Substitution of players generally can only be done 3 times only for 2 times 45 minutes. While the rumor will be added to 4 times. Anyway, this is still a rumor, we just wait for the rest.

It's not a rumour, guys. The upcoming regulation have been posted on the official UEFA website so I think it's pretty much confirmed that the new rules are set in stone. You could read more about the changes here: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2546985.html#/

From the 2018/19 season, a fourth substitute listed on the match sheet may take part in knockout matches exclusively during extra time. This will not affect the other three substitutions.
plus more on the UEFA website.
A lot of changes ! After few years ago they change the qualification system now it's another big change. Not sure it could bring a good impact... Let's see next season. It helps big teams who have a tight schedule , they could have a lot of options now. Do you think it's fair enough?  Roll Eyes
they are interesting rules, but the most important "technology Var" will not be introduced next year.
Unfortunately in recent years there have been so many blatant mistakes that have decided many balanced matches.
I hope that the Var from 2020 will be introduced also in the champion's league

I am very sorry Manchester United did not qualify for the last eight. With the addition of a good player and almost all famous players or stars and expensive, this should be a good quality game. and did not qualify for the last eight in defeat by Sevilla which I think is unbalanced because Manchester United have a lot of good players
I think Manchester United's failure to qualify for the last eight is a mental factor of players who have not been awakened since being abandoned by the now legendary Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson. Maybe Mourinho must awaken the confidence and mentality of his players to be able to fight even harder because if viewed from the quality of players they have I think is enough to be able to compete even win UCL every season.

Life, Love and Laughter...
I think the new rules could benefit the cash rich clubs more than the 'lesser' ones.  But it could also make the KO stages more exciting and more unpredictable.  Wink

But we'll see how it all pans out next year...

Real Madrid's strength, the champions league is very stable, Juventus are trying to grasp real Madrid's weakness is very difficult!

I think it's difficult for Juventus to make the next round, unless iguain and dibala are in good shape!

real madrid this season in group stage lost from hotspur
and in spain league is bad performance too
juventus stable performance in italian league and champion league too, so real madrid dificult this match

in this match Real Madrid is the favourite than Juventus but i have recently seeing their head to head statistics matches and seems both of team are defeat each other so there is a chance for Juventus defeat Madrid but indeed that's wuite difficult task because as defending champion Madrid will never let their opponent defeat them
Both teams are very good when a counterattack. I'm sure this game will be more interesting to watch than any other match at UCL. If seen from the standings position of each team then maybe Juventus is superior to Real Madrid but we must not forget that Real Madrid has found a solution of the problems they face from the beginning of this season.
Juventus is in good form and have very good record in recent times but Real Madrid is full of talent and they have some good sources to recover from mistakes and other problems we cannot predict about this match as this is going to be one of best matches in this years UCL I believe Real Madrid is going to be in next round as they are full of talented and heart breaking players  Cheesy

So another big game for RMA, because they will play against Juventus on 3rd April.RMA always prove themselves great in UCL.Ronaldo is scoring goals in every match. So It is a good news for them and I think madrid have the possibility to win over Seria A champion.RMA always showed brilliant performance on UCL in last 3-4 seasons and I think they will want to win it at any cost.

Do you even watch soccer? If you do then you would know that Ronaldo's performance has been quite shitty this season, he is still decent if you compared him with alot of decent player then he is still on top but if you compare him with his past performance then it is a big deep shit he is this season. The chances to win is actually not that huge for real madrid
Maybe you are the one who doesn't watch soccer. Juventus are not the same side when it comes performance and i will admit that Real Madrid are not as strong as well but Ronaldo has rediscovered his brilliant form once again and that would be very problematic for Juventus.

I think football is a team sport and we should stop emphasizing and glorifying individualism. Ronaldo has now turned into a tap in expert always waiting to feast on food that his other colleagues have suffered to prepare and then win personal awards. If Madrid isn't playing well just admit and fix the team rather than trying to console yourself with a Ronaldo.
The thing is that Ronaldo always shows up in important games, they are having a terrible season in La Liga, but when it comes to the Champions League they are the first team that won 2 times the cup in a row, this is by far the most expected game of all since its a rematch for Juventus. But I just dont see a Juventus beating Madrid when they are playing really well in the Champions League.

Ronaldo now is not a winger anymore so now he is just a profilic striker that have one job and that is scoring goals that is why no one of the team wants Kane in Real Madrid and wants Benzema as they have been friends for years and everyone knows his job they stick together for everyone of them. So it would not be a great idea to get Lewandowski to the Spanish team as it will make Ronaldo unhappy and could led to him leaving the club for free that's why he did not renew yet hoping to make pressure on Perez and leave the club the same the only thing he wants is to forget about improving the front line and focus on the other lines like Goalkeeper Defense and midfield.
