Almost all of my friends have no idea what is bitcoin, and when i told them and explained to them they laugh at me, nobody is taking bitcoin serious, bitcoin stilll need a lot of advertisement and promotion, eventhough i keep on hearing the number of the user is increasing, but it is really rare people know about bitcoin
Same with my friends too, they aren't interested in bitcoin. i had told them like a year ago about bitcoin. they're regretting now, the price of bitcoin has increased a lot since  i'd told them.

they aren't interested but at least they have an idea about bitcoin as what you've said they feel regret after they realized that the value of bitcoin have become more expensive . so no that they've feel regret maybe they will have a little interest with it and will start on using it until they've also become successful Grin

I don't think it's true, based on my own experience.
From maybe 50 people I know personally, let's say, maybe 40 using Internet.
From this 40 maybe only 10 using Internet for more serious things like online shopping etc.
How many know about Bitcoin?
I think 5-6.
Others just don't care about such things.
It's still reality and we have to be aware about it.

I had the same experience as you had and I agree with you. But bitcoin is just beginning and we need to see the bigger picture. Take a look at the coming 20 to 30 years. Bitcoin will be famous and will be used widely more than today. The volume of transactions will be massive if the code and algorithm is well maintained till then.
yes that is right, the users of bitcoin are increasing continuously and hope that very soon majority of people will be using bitcoin after 8 to 10 years, bitcoin really need to maintain the algorithm for smooth increase of bitcoin.

Everyone has the same experience as we all know bitcoin is not really that much popular in practical world but it is just there on internet and someone who is not always involved in internet does not know anything about it, in my case if i ask a half of the people around me i'm sure none of them will say they have even heard about bitcoin, so yes, "Not everyone knows about bitcoin."

They cant blame you rather than they would definitely blame theirselves why they didnt believe you from the time you introduce bitcoin to them and now they are regretting and all i can say they deserve it but still its not too late to engage on bitcoin because we are just on its earliest years and bitcoin price will surely grow even more on the long run. Adoption here on my country is only on small percentage on overall population.

I almost never hear anyone talk about Bitcoin where I live. Very few people know anything about it. We still have a long way to go before it is mainstream.
It is same with me there is no one who knows about Bitcoin. Even in my office nobody knows about Bitcoin when I first used the word bitcoin than everybody asked me  same question what is Bitcoin? So  yes Bitcoin have a long way to go. It will come to the mainstream when media daily start to talk about bitcoin.

Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.

It might be a good thing that they think it is cheap, i hope that by the time the masses arrive we will be using bits when talking about btc.  this will make it much easier for those new to it.

You may think that bitcoin is known in every country, but no. In my country, people does not even know that is it, not talking about making it a usable currency in bank or anywhere else, but we are working for it to make people know about bitcoin

Same here.. And they do not even trust it because it's virtual, so it's pretty hard to convince them! I heard of Bitcoin in 2013 and I was lucky because I was in Austria and there the media showed that it had reached $1000 and it made Bitcoin extremely interesting, but otherwise I would have not known about it right now.

not just pretty hard but it's really hard to convince a person to use something like what you have said it's virtual and because it's virtual they might think of it very astounding and eventually they will not put a trust on it because they do not understand clearly how does it works . if only most of the medias are broadcasting about this technology there would be so many people who have an idea about it .

Exactly those who don't know what Bitcoin is, if we explain to them, people will get confuse how to use bitcoin? We will get lots of questions from them. In my country also many people don't know what bitcoin is and here people will play gambling with fiat currency. I explained some of my friends, but except 1 or 2 no one shows interest on this topic.

they'll surely gets confuse how to use it, in my experience the first time that I've created and used a bitcoin wallet I am having a hard time to know exactly how to generate a bitcoin wallet address when I was creating an account on some faucets for the first time and when the time that I about to withdraw all my accumulated satoshi I didn't know what should I do as I didn't know where can I find my bitcoin address good thing that there's someone who assisted me on that thing . In my opinion, If I do having a hard time from the first time that I used bitcoin for sure some one else will do as well .

Here on forum it's.logical and normal for majority of us that we are familiar with bitcoin for a long time. But the truth is that there are many people who have never heard of bitcoins and don't know that it exists and nor how to use it. We have to be aware that bitcoin users are still very limited group in global sense.

Many people in my country believe that bitcoin is something evil used only as a cyrrency in darkweb  between drug dealers. Some others more "informative" they see it as bubble and some "smart" ones they believe it is a fraud of Chinese to dominate the world. Two months ago I was speaking about it with some of my friends but they were laughing. Media are speaking about it saying the same things they had told in 2013. People, especially the middle aged they don't understand and they don't want to learn what is bitcoin.

I remember early 90ties very well. People were laughing about the internet. Indeed I had this experience.

Bitcoin is very similar to internet. Actually Bitcoin IS internet of today. Yet still in its pioneer years, as was internet in 70ties (arpanet). So there are many years to come and go. And we are still at the very beginning.

Even very knowledgeable people such as Bill Gates were very skeptical about Internet in those days. Though I still don't think that we in the 70s of Internet in regard to Bitcoin of today. Bitcoin already made it into news and even movies, therefore many people have already heard about it, at least those who are spending some of their time in Internet. Things spread a whole lot faster nowadays.

People I meet follow the path of 3 cathegories

1. Never heard of it and interested in it
2. Heard its failed and that are shocked its still alive
3. Has heard about it but forgot totally about it

All of those people might be intered in bitcoin if you could present them in some positive way. I rarely see people totally negatively  on to bitcoin. But most of what  people knows about is pure lies and misinformation made to make it as nothing of any siginificance.

And now almost every evening we spend with making bitcoins. Almost all pur friends know about bitcoin as well, but i could not say they pay too much attention on it as we do.

Not everyone knows about bitcoin. Sorry to say, but it is the truth! Bitcoin is known to only a handful of tech savy people who actively looks for ways to earn online money. Otherwise, I have seen many technical people is unaware about bitcoin.

MY colleagues are all technical people, yet they don't know about bitcoin yet. When I tried to explain bitcoin to them, they laughed at the fact, that bitcoin is a mined currency using a computer program. So people are not adaptable to change. They love to think conventionally and are not open to new things. Yet we bitcoiners are doing good!

Maybe 80% of all people out there heard of Bitcoin already. Because of news, media and so on.

But maybe only 0.001% of all people out there are really dealing with Bitcoin. Because of its volume (if you want to deal with it, you usually want to own at least 1 whole BTC, people don't know it can be split), complexity, fear,...

If you consider, the value of BTC (not the price, price in FIAT is not a measure for BTC) with 0.001% adoption. What it would be with 1%, or 10% adoption?

One of the main issues for wider adoption is its basic unit - 1 BTC. If traders, media,... started using smaller units like 1mBTC, 1μBTC, 1nBTC, 1pBTC (as adoption would grow), it would help much.

The revolutionary trading ecosystem
I can tell you that more than 90% of the world population don't know or understand what Bitcoin is, this morning I was chatting with a friend of mine that I introduce Bitcoin to and  now into it about the recent Bitcoin rally, what surprise me is that the population of people in this public place is more than hundred but all of them were just looking at us as if we were speaking Germany. I look at them and thought this is a huge market for Bitcoin and the price can only increase
