I almost never hear anyone talk about Bitcoin where I live. Very few people know anything about it. We still have a long way to go before it is mainstream.

From all the people I met, the only ones who knew about Bitcoin were the investors. You cannot really know anything about Bitcoin if you don't work as a trader or at least look at the charts to see the prices' evolution day to day. We need more advertisement. By the way, I heard there is an anonymous millionaire wanting to invest $1M in Bitcoin ads next year. That would be awesome.

Obviously they fucking don't. Even I came to know about this recently. I'm damn sure there are many who still have no clue about bitcoins.

Still small portion/percentage of people knows bitcoin nowadays although it is in its growing industry. Most of users here are usually business minded or a person longing for an extra income here in internet. Some might really say that this is a scam especially if you invite them to join the first thing that would put in their mind is that you are just 'inviting/recruiting' them.
Yes that's a sad truth Cry Although bitcoin itself is not bad, it's just a potential cryptocurrency and has practical purposes, many people still consider bitcoin as something unreal and moreover, a total scam. And what has driven me crazy is that even people who are highly knowledgeable in economics also think that bitcoin is no more than a scam.

I have the same experience. True that when I introduced it to them they would somehow have a thinking to ride with it. Specially when they see my income. Even for a little they see there is somehow profit and they want it too.
But still at the end they wont continue. They say it is really slow money. Pfft.
Yeah I have also same experience. When they see my profit they just say "Wow how do you do that" and when I say how I started, they will say that a very long process so they will end up not trying bitcoin. Lot of people want large profit but not all want to work or to try, They just want easy money or They Don't want to invest they are so afraid to loosed their money. They just want to pay bills until they die. We are so lucky that we are risk takers, we surpass our fear to loss money. Digital is the new money power for bitcoin! Smiley

You may think that bitcoin is known in every country, but no. In my country, people does not even know that is it, not talking about making it a usable currency in bank or anywhere else, but we are working for it to make people know about bitcoin

Same here.. And they do not even trust it because it's virtual, so it's pretty hard to convince them! I heard of Bitcoin in 2013 and I was lucky because I was in Austria and there the media showed that it had reached $1000 and it made Bitcoin extremely interesting, but otherwise I would have not known about it right now.

not just pretty hard but it's really hard to convince a person to use something like what you have said it's virtual and because it's virtual they might think of it very astounding and eventually they will not put a trust on it because they do not understand clearly how does it works . if only most of the medias are broadcasting about this technology there would be so many people who have an idea about it .

Exactly those who don't know what Bitcoin is, if we explain to them, people will get confuse how to use bitcoin? We will get lots of questions from them. In my country also many people don't know what bitcoin is and here people will play gambling with fiat currency. I explained some of my friends, but except 1 or 2 no one shows interest on this topic.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.

In my community few already know bitcoin. I think 79% didn't know what is bitcoin really. They already heard about it but they don't have any interest  on it. That's why i will make a website or a facebook group with my circle of friends and this people in the community teaching them what is bitcoin and how bitcoin works. Also i will teach them how bitcoin is my source of income.

Daily the word of bitcoin is keep spreading but people don't have minimum knowledge about it. But people from different parts of the world are showing interest towards bitcoin and how it works.Even many new people are coming daily to bitcointalk to learn some thing about bitcoin, but year after years the user base for bitcoin community is keep increasing.

Even though many countries people know how to use the bitcoin but many people are really afraid to use it because the value of bitcoin is very high and many outlets are also not accepting because of it price. But definitely one day every one will be ready to accept bitcoin because many countries are developing the technologies how to implement the bitcoin.

Bitcoin not being widely accepted as a payment option isn't that big of a deal for the average people as they mostly convert their coins to fiat directly. Most people that come into Bitcoin are just looking to earn some bits here on this forum, or they just see Bitcoin as an investment opportunity. Implementing Bitcoin isn't a big deal either as merchants can make use of payment processors as BitPay. BitPay will convert everything to fiat where the volatility won't have any impact on merchants.

Of course that everyone can’t know about bitcoin yet. Bitcoin is few years old only, and some people don’t even know what happened 10 years ago, so of course they can’t know about bitcoin too.

Also, fact that not many people actually uses bitcoin doesn’t help bitcoin, as people hear about bitcoins even less, so they probably don’t even know that it is possible to pay using bitcoin or so, we have to use bitcoins more often

That's true pal. I've to this day encountered only one person that knew what Bitcoin was, and for him it was a childish toy... It pass from times to times to the news, but here people generally don't attend the 24/7 news and watch just the prime time news, which generally don't mention it at all. I say that organising big conferences throught the major cities of Europe and North America is a good idea to increase awareness.

The reason why many people doesnt know about bitcoin because of its lack of promotion. It is not always portrayed in the media or any slogans and why, its because bitcoin is not like the banks that is owned by big multinationals who pay millions for advertisement. Bitcoin will be endorsed by its users in a very normal way, there is no need to hurry, sooner or later the news about bitcoin will reach the hears of the common masses.

Yes,it's still 'many miles to go' for bitcoin as far as it's reach is concerned. It's known to only a small percentage of people. There are so many people round the globe who have not even heard of it yet and don't know that a potential alternative digital currency known as bitcoin exists.

That's still better that we promote it a bit higher, with like at least one summit in any of tha major countries once a year, because some alternative solutions are branded correctly, and might attract users in the bad way, since those soltuions are not Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralised, there is no one funding and no one really willing to fund a huge advertising campaign to surpass that of PayPal's or Western Union. The best we can make are memes Cheesy

Maybe we can start an advertising charity? Like SeansOutpost for Bitcoin.

That's where the fun begins for me. People create associations and organise meetings where they live. They're on facing a Linux shouting crowd, they do their presentation, the Linux crowd applause, they're hailed, they become famous, and then rich, and then Bitcoin to the moon Cheesy ! That's something I'd like to do. Creating such associations is fun I think. And investing time in it might be lucrative since you can make it a company, that could sell bitcoins, sell product such as mugs, store bitcoins, give private lessons...

In my country that knows bitcoin is very little. I've ask in the newsgroup such as whatsapp and facebook, when I said "Let's buy a bitcoin for investment because buying bitcoin is very lucrative" someone says what is bitcoin? I try to explain with detail, but they still are not interested.

Yeah I was in the same situation with you, most of the people I've met including strangers to close friends didn't even know there was something called bitcoin. Every time I was going to say something about bitcoin, they started to avoid the conversation or just ignore what I was saying. I'm so depressed right now  Cry

That's about the same thing for me. I don't mention how they sometimes come back to me just to say me that they're heard something about Bitcoin I don't know where and that they can take me to the police and I'll send up in jail Roll Eyes...
