The wisest advice I've had ever heard of, regarding gambling is "keep it safe"...it could sound too simple but is true.

I think in the long run its more of losses than wins and the players end up losing more than what they win. In the long run most players in this way develop addiction and they cant get back from casinos end up losing everything.
