If so, they might not get the info about what account has what balance before they did actually fix the data bank. And the data bank, they said last, is the problem.

Well - in there last (and only) communication, they actually said that they actually successfully fixed the Database, and they are only changing the hoster and some other minor issues,so I would have guessed to more days, but this was almost a week ago..

Ah, thanks for pointing that out! I haven't actually checked daily for a few days now. Where did you read that?
There have been at least 6 different update messages on the website itself, nonetheless.
Right now it still says "...Process taking longer than expected with fixing DB , ..." - though, since the site is not reachable over the URL, that might not be relevant.

We'll see i guess...

edit: Oh i reckon you mean formal news in that news section, right? Yeah, that was handled poorly.

People who want their coins back and fix this mess ,
Try to get back the domain by signing this and show to gandi, that coinsmarkets were trying to fix it by updating us every 2-3 days

Well, and their total supply of Buzz shows that they are on the wrong chain (of course) - after the recent hardfork, staking was significantly slowed, and thus the total supply of Buzz is smaller than that shown by coinsmarkets... Sad   - (of course, we would expect that they don't update wallets while they are otherwise down..)
Buzz is correct. I think it's because you're looking at BTX?

I said at least they should enable BTC and LTC withdrawal if they really do fix things.  Grin
other minority exchange site like coinexchange.io was do enable withdraw BTC when they fix emergency things as i remember
" The website can be accessed btw: http://185.66.140.234/term.php " where did you got that ip ? you pretty sure that belong to coinsmarkets.com ?

Sry, i must have put that to broad. What i think is probable, from my experience in programming and with (lazy) programmers, is that their system might treat all coins the same. So all coins in the data bank would be potentially seen as stake-able, and they just set options. If so, they might not get the info about what account has what balance before they did actually fix the data bank. And the data bank, they said last, is the problem.

Again, that just is a idea for why it would be not that easy, don't take it for facts please. I haven't checked the balances like other users here have.

I got the IP address from the FlagFox-plugin for IceDragon/FireFox i use, that shows server location, Flag and IP in my URL bar thingy. I then note IPs when i make Bookmarks to minimize the risks of phishing sites and stuff. You should be able to find that with a quick search, if interested Wink
If i click on it now i get this: https://iplookup.flagfox.net/?ip=104.20.209.69&host=bitcointalk.org for example.

Guys be carefull with coinmarkets.com (the exchange for XIOS). It's a scam.
Server is in the US. The URL is registred in The Netherlands. I called that address. Got an old lady on the phone that hang up because she does't talk to strangers

I read somewhere that the XIOS and coinsmarkets developers are the same people. Look at this article: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@theminerhub/xuez-hard-fork-from-xios-collapse

....has the fork to XUEZ already made?
Xios is in the process of being swapped for Xuez. Coins bought after Jan 5 will not be eligible to be swapped.

Interesting. I would not be surprised if the scum behind Xios and Coinsmarkets are the same.

If they really doing maintenance, and do some fixing things
at least they should let people to withdraw the coins , at least BTC and LTC
No social media , really an exchange site without social media to update informing status of exchange ? they living under the rock ?
website cant access, means it more likely closing down
no news at all. What did we expect ?  Grin

I might be totally wrong, so do some research if you really want to know; but from what i reckon it's not that simple.
In order to have pooled staking they need to have all coins in one wallet, right. So they have an complicated account data bank, managing your staking percentage and your shares and so on. With that you can't just give away any private keys to single percentages of that pools wallet... migrating that to new hardware really must be pain in the butt.
I'm probably ignorant, thinking that is obvious...

The website can be accessed btw: http://185.66.140.234/term.php

Hey Guido72, i'm totally contempt with them not coming back, as mentioned i got way more out than what i put in and what is in my account now.
Nice stealth referral btw Cheesy I'm already there since day one;)

Hey Kylo Ren, thanks for the tip, i'll have a look for sure!

For everybody being miserable over losses: Next time make sure to get your investment back out quick to lessen the hit if something goes down!

I'm not sure abt this, but you can get the IP of websites when you ping them through CMD. He probably got this back when CM was still running with the old domain name

I have been optimistic until now, but it looks like the guys over at coinsmarkets.com were just buying time and had no intention of resuming the business.  At this point I have no hope.  The only reason I opened an account at Coinsmarkets.com was to buy Electra.  According to Electra's website, we could stake electra coins at Coinsmarkets.  It was an indirect recommendation from Electra.  There must be some relation between Electra and Coinsmarkets I am guessing.

I did the same. I know someone at electra and he told me, that they have 100% nothing to do with coinsmarkets. I dont know, if its true but i believe him.

And i believed cm would come again. But atm i have the feeling, that this is not possible for them. I mean, if they used a wrong adress and a wrong name, how would gandi give
them there account or the website back? What, if they are just some teenies and her parents dont know what they are doing with coinsmarkets? I mean, that is really possible.
The code of their website was written very poor. There is no communication. Maybe because they dont know what to do?

Just my 5 cents....

Wallets are online and scan date shows today (25-01)

According to block explorer my coins still there...

But while domain is blocked i dont know how long we'll have to wait for CM to come back online...

At least we know that servers are up and running, and domain was blocked from Gandi's side..

I understand the desire to hope the site comes back, but it won't even load and email to the admins is "undeliverable."

We all learned a big lesson, hopefully not a painful one.

If you want to speculate on a small market that seems well coded try Bibox.  I like their interface, it's similar to Binance.  I have been accumulating Bottos BTO:

Be realistic! It's over! Better a miserable end than endless misery!

Probably they're already selling all our coins. Maybe that's one of the reasons of the latest price drops!

Opening a Twitter account to inform proactively and transparently can be done in one minute!

My favored staking pool Stake United faced also performance issues lately, and they needed to upgrade the servers. But on their Twitter account they announce everything and inform proactively. Totally trustworthy! It's really not difficult.

Currently trading with crypto currencies is risky. Everybody knows this. That's why some regulations are not a bad thing, and will be necessary to avoid such situations like this.

I'd definitely continue to use the exchange if it comes back. Had really good experiences all the way up until the whole crypto market went ape shit in late December. I got way more Dosh out than what i put in and the Support was doing their thing. Don't know anyone else's story of course.

The FUDDERs, that harassed the host and whatnot, are obviously to be thanked for making the situation "that much better"... can't be changed now, so no use in being salty. But we should probably remember, when they cry wolf next time they assume something.

Has anyone a link to the TOS handy for all the folks that still talk about legal actions? They really need to finally read what they agreed to; 'cause there is no legal action that could be taken. Never have been. Not that any feds would help people invested in crypto anyways Wink

Do you think that gandi is blocking access to him moving the site elsewhere? Or that maybe the FUDDERs are the reason the website is not up yet?

I think people would come back if the site stabilizes.  There are so many new coins added every day that if they made it easy to list them people would come back.  Still crossing my fingers Wink

My new theory is they are going to scam and hodl for a few months until new exchanges are found for all the coins, then they will transfer and sell
I hope it's wrong theory Wink

If this is not einstein theory, then of course it is wrong  Tongue
