I bet CM is running by some 18-20 years old nerds. I can't imagine a serious website owner to bring shit like this:
Now we may be moving due to users contacting hosting and calling us a fraud.

I see the message too.

And no, the users who wrote to the hoster are not responsible for the delay. CM basically shut down and said absolutely nothing for over a week. If they had at least kept up to date on social media or reached out the dev teams for larger coins to assure them that everything was kosher, that'd be another story. People had every right to believe they were being conned and to contact the hoster.

Now, if you want to complain about the people who said they were donating towards having a hitman take care of the guy, then go right ahead. That's fair game.

Also, I still wouldn't consider us out of the woods until we can actually move our coins around.

i agree with you, that the missing communication was a desaster, not professional and absolutely inacceptable.
but i also think ... thats not really a reason to say it's an fraud ...
missing communication is not a fraud, isn't it? It's unprofessional, it's a fault but in my eyes for a long time no fraud!

The point is that based on how they acted, even if everything does turn out okay in the end, people had every reason in the world to believe that they were being robbed.

Imagine if you bought something off a dude from ebay and he is unable to ship it your item right away, and then proceeds to completely quiet and ignore you for 10 days. You would think just got scammed. Now multiple that by feeling by several hundred or several thousand when you consider the amounts some people actually have tied up by this exchange.

b) have zero fucking clue how to handle this situation at all, even worse - they don't have a knowledge how to solve this mess and are trying to buy some time just by releasing these weird statements.

yes ... i also think they are absolutely overwhelmed ... and i think not "they" rather "he" (i think it's only 1 person behind CM!) Wink
and then ... this one person has absolutely no time to communicate ... especially not if he has no really idea where the problem is ...
what should he say ... i've problem but i don't know how to fix it? Wink

NEW STATUS ON CM:

"We are here to stay , there is few DB issue we are fixing due to DB overload . Now we may be moving due to users contacting hosting and calling us a fraud."

To all users who denounced CM as fraud by the hoster of them:
Due to such postings/mails CM is obviously now additionally to the existing problems forced to change the hoster ...
In other words:
It will surely come to further delays until CM will be online again ... and in my eyes ... all of you who wrote to the hoster are responsible for this further delay!
Thanks to you (*irony off*)!

Right... CoinsMarkets are completely absolved from shutting down their site for over a week, with no warning and no updates or communication with the people who have money there, because those people had to investigate for themselves to try and find out what was going on. I can't believe that you actually buy their BS and defend them..

FIRST OF ALL THIS MESSAGE MEANS THAT ALL SITE MESSAGES WERE NOT PREPARED AND UPDATING NOW LIVE! ALSO NEW MESSAGE MEANS THAT HOSTING COMPANY HAS A CONTACT WITH THEM, SO IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WE CAN TRACK CM OWNERS, SO CALM DOWN EVERYONE.

ALSO. I WANT TO SAY AND HOPE EVERYONE AGREES THAT WE DID NOT WANT TO OFFEND CM DEV BUT JUST WANTED TO HAVE AN UPDATE. WE DO NOT PLAN TO GO THE LEGAL ROUTE AS LONG AS HE PROVIDES UPDATES AND THINGS ARE IMPROVING.

SO PLEASE, GUYS, DONT MAKE SITUATION WORSE! CALM DOWN AND GIVE THEM SOMETIME! TELEGRAM GROUP FOUNDERS WILL CONTACT THE HOST AGAIN AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION, THE ONLY GREAT MISTAKE OF CM DEVS IS LACK OF COMMUNICATION. AT LEAST ONE POST HERE OR CHANGING BOT MESSAGE COULD EASILY CALM DOWN A LOT OF ANGRY CUSTOMERS.

I've been thinking about this shit for a while and i came to one conclusion...

No - they are not going to do a grand theft, but i believe they either:

a) got hacked (less likely)
b) have zero fucking clue how to handle this situation at all, even worse - they don't have a knowledge how to solve this mess and are trying to buy some time just by releasing these weird statements.

I mean come on...so they are actually "accusing" people of calling them thieves and fraud and this gives them a perfect reason to keep us waiting even longer? Seems like a perfect explanation to me.

I've been watching the site and this thread since the outage. $6k roughly over there.

It's currently 5 am in Amsterdam and I've seen them rebooting the server for the last 12~hrs now. Much longer than the rest of this week. Either they have Fridays off for their normal job and they are staying up late, or saw the bounty posts and decided sleep is for the weak.

Either way we can see work is being done. I'm still hopeful but at this point extremely stressed and pissed about the lack of communication.

i noticed changes as well. overall atmosphere looks very depressing, but im hoping they will be back - donated 250k axe last month to boost the growth  Undecided

Site gets better and quicker every day.
Arguable. The website is seemingly faster because they are attracting less and less traffic every day since server overload
https seems to be restored. I think they're getting back to normal. Weak hands might sell coins for below the market rate when they get back on and I'll be there take their money.
We'll see what happens. I think they will close new memberships if/when they get back on, but who knows.
Are you really retarded to say you are waiting to take advantage of scared people or you are just a scambag?

If they do come back, I think you are right. I was going to wait and do the same thing. "IF" they come back.

Let's all be patient here! All exchanges are experiencing issues lately due to the massive augmentation of users.

I can't provide evidence but for a brief moment a few days ago - almost a week now, I could sign in and see my balance. When I went to do anything else, I got the error at hose from cloudflare.

I will reserve judgement about what's happening. CM is an anonymous user exchange with no KYC which isn't a bad thing. However, it is a small exchange relative to Bittrex, Bitfinex or Binance.

I think the page we occasionally see that is not cached is the old servers. If they are migrating data into the new servers, they would not want to keep exchange and withdrawal open as then they would have to replicate those changes over. With new server they have to set uall the nodes again and import all the accounts over etc. I wouldn't want the exchange open if I was doing that. I would want it frozen.

So there's 2 possibilities in my eyes:

1) It will be back soon and better than ever. They will be rigged for high throughput to handle the people that want to get their coins out.
2) They've exit scammed, or got hacked.

I'm leaning towards 1) If they exist scammed, they would have declare it as a hack.
I'd say your coins are ok. There is unprecedented demand for exchanges in recent months but also I think pro-gov banker backed hackers are abusing the API's and trade with accounts to screw things up. That's my take. Time will tell. I will lose some money on a coin that's been doing quite well lately if they exist scammed. That's life.

Our traditional FIAT banks guarantee the security of ..crap paper tokens that are infinite in supply and centrally regulated. Take it or leave it.

Site gets better and quicker every day. only trade/withdraw disabled.
i think it will be back monday.

reiniere.

It's seemed more random than anything else to me.

Sometimes when I go to https://coinsmarkets.com/walletstatus.php?ticker=BTC, it does show the wallet as online and last having been scanned today, however.

But, until the you're able to log in and actually move your coins to a personal wallet you shouldn't feel good about anything. The best case scenario we can possibly hope for at this point is that it was all extreme incompetence and stupidity on the part of the exchange owner, and that can cause you to lose your coins just the same as theft/maliciousness.
