Where I can found these firmware?
Any link?

Using GenTarkins firmware I am getting 8-10gh/s on my jalapeño averaging over 9, and 33-36gh/s on my littles single averaging just over 34gh/s with no adjustment to the firmware. I believe they are both running on frequency 9, with 7% hw errors on my jally and ~5% hw errors on my LS.

Well, I just bought a pair of chips on Ebay and will try taking my JP apart when they arrive to see if I can boost this thing to 16gh. If it works I may then try adding 2 more and go to 24gh (any more and I will melt the heatsink most likely). It's getting chilly right now up here, so I could use the heat.

Quick questions from those who have done it:

1) Do the chips come pre-fluxed? Did you put flux on the pads?
2) How did you know which way to orient the chip and how did you align it by hand?

I've been floating chips off and on SODIMM boards, so I am getting the hang of this sort of. Seems like 150c preheat for 5 minutes then 285c through a square nozzle for 45 seconds is enough to float the chip off.

ok thanks
92mm fan

and height of the fan?Huh

I got the noctura NF-A9x14 somebody recommended.  Had to cut the tubing off the wires to fit, heavy mesh tubing, wires within.  Also read somewhere to relocate the nylon washers.  Second attempt at reassembly I put the washers under the plastic tubes instead of on top.  Just a little easier.  It's not been modified otherwise.  It arrived hashing at 4.6 but is up to 4.80GH/s, center figure of the 3 on bfgminer v3.1.2.  Haven't figured out how to get the java api stats using linux yet.  Not that compelled to shut it down to run it under Windows for its stats.  Want to flash to a better firmware but am wary.

16mm on the Jalapeno. Noctua has a 14mm fan - 2mm gap. You would need four 2mm washers. Without the case the Jalapeno runs about 17C cooler.

Ok, I got the chips working. I just had to upgrade to the latest 1.2.9 firmware.
Did you reconfigure the firmware? I've only installed the jala configured fw for 1.2.9 where a bin was allready available.
I added one BFL on U5, but it is not identified, yet, maybe fw is not configured? I will try to add one more on U13 and try again.

Cheers...

Seems to be around 40 watts or so as opposed to 20-30. Going from 5-7gh knocks it up to 30, 8gh to 40.

Anyone know if one of these programmers will work with the Jally?

I don't really want to buy a Dragon just to use once on something that's not going to do much ROI anymore.

The power supply is running hot as hell but everything is still working. I have also noticed that the power supply is making a lot of noise on the mains. I think it's just indicative of a cheap chinese power supply.

So Dana, how's it going? Did the power supply implode yet?

I just ordered a pair of chips myself, if I get them I'll give it a try. Working with the Aoyue and taking memory chips off boards I'm finding that 285c for 30 seconds is enough if the board is preheated to 150c. Haven't tried 100c (recommended values) yet.

Just got a friend's Jally in the mail. He's out for awhile, bricked his unit, and I sat down to give it a quick firmware update.

Opened the box, found that he had cut the heat sink (nice) to expose the connector but since my cable is a 20 pin one I had to remove the sink anyway. And it was on *TIGHT*, so tight I was worried the chips were cracked. I don't know about everyone else but I push down on the plate with the heat sink on the table, then screw both screws snug, then give each of them a finger tight twist just a bit. Just a torx bit, no handle.

I'm a little concerned about what's left of the heat sink pads, I might open it up again and replace it with the arctic ice stuff if the temps are high.

Wow. It's at 8.4gh right now to my jally's 7.5. About another gh more power. However his is throwing 8.3% errors on one chip, and his temp is 45to my 43. We both bought the same type of JP (5gh, no upgrade), looks like luck of the draw is there. I think I could get mine to run faster, but I'm going for low errors.

My guess is he has two or three more processors running on one chip, with one throwing errors. So be it.

Anyway, it's up and running, I'll watch the error count and see how it does after 24 hours. But it is nice to mine at 17 GH or so (I have 2 erupters). Good to watch while I think about buying a few more chips to make mine more of a single.
