Only rumors, but I see that this can be real (unicorns taking over crypto).
This would popularize blockchain and crypto to a new level, I think we are not so far from that anymore.

I am little bit confused with your news and even doubt on this news because I read somewhere that first Facebook and then Twitter banned crypto ads on their pages and now google is the most loyal kelt to be the next and now according to your news , Facebook is launching its own block chain, I don’t understand this kind of strategy that first Facebook was against of crypto currencies and now Facebook itself launching its block chain, I think that this is a ki Nd of scam.

I cannot say for sure what would be happen in the future but I think  Facebook can be very useful when launching a new crypto. It can attract a lot of attention of public, thus market will be highly competitive and people will involved more in the industry.

If they indeed should launch a "crypto currency" I believe it's going to be more something like a gift certificate program.

I wonder what would happen if Facebook created its own mining platform (like Bitcoin Core) and connected all those 2 billion+ devices to it?
Would these tokens still be a kind of a "gift"?
I'm sure their price would reach the sky in the very first days since they could be used for so many various kinds of payment within the FB network - advertising, gaming, social analytics, etc.

Facebook has been trying to fight with cryptocurrencies (banning ads related to crypto for example), but we all know that they have been researching Blockchain and Bitcoin for the whole time. Blockchain is the next great technology which will be demanded. I am afraid that they might release their own crypto which would be centralised and not anonymous at all. I guess that many investors would be interested in cryptocurrency which was created by one of the most valuable companies in the world. I'm curious what other companies like Apple and Microsoft will do.

for the future it's all nobody knows, but I think it's possible by Facebook to start a new krypto. And the blockchain as well as the crypto industry will have a huge level of interest. That way the market will be very competitive and people will be more involved in the blockchain industry

Facebook hasn't been very friendly to crypto in the first half of 2018.  Hopefully this will change in the future as legitimate businesses are also being affected by this ban.

Blockchain technology is greater than Facebook, Google and them lot. Blockchain is for the people. Some of the companies are trying to monopolize the market like they have done with the centralized system and control everything here too. They fear what Blockchain technology will do to their businesses if we all adopt it. That is why there are trying to use their resources to ban it and spread fake news

That makes sense, I also think they banned it to cover their butts in case of scams.

Blockchain is a distributed ledger with data stored across a network of computers and rules that are enforced by its many participants.
It's the opposite of Facebook, which is a massive centralized organization that controls all the infrastructure underlying the 2 billion global users on its proprietary social network.

Imagine a vast online network in the future where we all hang out, chat and buy things,
but that's not owned by Facebook or Google or Amazon. That's the promise some people see in blockchain.

Here is a link to possible outcome of what facebook could mean by their statement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3863612.new#new

No matter what facebook is planning I know definitely it is gonna be for the benefit of the Blockchain technology.  take a look at facebook history, any company they get involved with becomes a success, talk more of new idea or developments. So I'm in support of their move.

although only rumors, it is possible that this happens because cryptocurrency has great appeal because it can provide fantastic income and rapid development from year to year, hopefully this is the beginning of greater success in the future.

Well if only they're going to that then it's a realtime good news for all of us here. Let's hope more people from the different sectors also adopt blockchain technology.. Blockchain will indeed rewrite the future of digital technology

I don't this so it is real. Because few month ago they banned all the crypto-currencies saying that these are deceptive. And they want their own crypto-currencies. I think we should avoid these type of news(rumor).

Yeah I also find this kinda strange. But who knows? Cryptos are on the rise now and there`re more and more big players entering the market so I won`t be so surpsrised if one day Zuckerberg announces that the day has come and FB launches its own crypto. People will be very interested because this social network proved to be one of the leading companies in the industry.  Wink

Facebook is not blockchain friendly, if they are they wouldn't have block the advertisements from ICOs. They might only get interested in Blockchain if they need data of users blockchain.

Facebook has to move very carefully into to the blockchain and crypto space and differentiate what government would like and what would hate. For example, banning ICO ads must have been nothing but a smart strategic move.

If Facebook will really to join Crypto currency investment by creating their own coin then this banning will just a marketing strategy because Facebook has millions of users in which they will use these users for their own advantage to support their own created coin but that if this news is for real because i believed  Facebook will not join Crypto currencies investment. We will just wait and see.

I'm not surprised, to be honest, this is the new technology and it is normal for a platform as Facebook to make their own coin in order to be ahead in the current market.
Nevertheless, the banning was related to the spamming and suspicious of ICO's activities, they didn't ban the complete world, but the suspicious ads (please tell me if I'm wrong on this point, for I do not own a Facebook account-I despise the platform- and my point is based on what I've read only).

Will Facebook seek a behavior similar to Steemit? Will they have their own currency in order to buy services on their platform? It hasn't confirmed yet. The only point confirmed at the time is the new Blockchain research committee in the Facebook industry.
Besides, if they want to stay at the top, they will need soon to join the Blockchain technology, as Telegram has already done: they've sold up their ICO, the GRAMCOIN and obtained a lot of money already.
If Facebook wants to stay alive, it will be needed for it to join the cryptopath.

facebook and tweeter shouted that they prohibit advertising and promotion of the crypto world and now the rumor about the creation of a new coinface Facebook has already passed. based from the news the blockhain team is just small and it is not expected to develop what it is intended this current year.

Facebook plans to launch its own cryptocurrency by utilizing the best Blockchain on Facebook and even Facebook is working on a management reorganization that will create new units around blockchain technology.
