I remember seeing some facebook ads of ICOs promising 500% returns quarterly. These are the ads that ruined it for everyone.  Sad to say but 90% of ICOs are scams just looking to take honest peoples money.  If they block ICO and let other cryptos advertise would be great.

for me this is probably a good idea because it is kinda annoying to see ads in different places and just popping out whenever it wants.

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

Well I must say good job for this especially for those who wants to bring down bitcoin but I tell you bitcoin don't need advertisement by now? Hello! I can advertise bitcoin without using facebook or any kind of social media. I can advertise it personally. So goodluck we dont need you cause we're strong family here in Bitcoin 😊

Of course this is an interesting thing for facebook. I think one of the reasons is that this ICO is really interesting and promises great results. And they do it all, to attract investors to invest in ICO and other bitcoins or crypto. Smiley

This is so typical of Facebook as being reactionary. It seems like all they do is respond to problems of abuse of their service. It wouldn't be too difficult for them to validate the ICO or have standards for advertising.

This is no spinner again. Banning it will be hard at first but with time the crypto community will adapt to it. Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency and two fires that cannot be quenched. They will only slow it's wildspread but making it stronger to stand on its own.

I think this is a bad move for the facebook founder.
Because this is threat that some users of Facebook who are also bitcoin users maybe cut their connection and shift to other social media.

I think that's not a big deal. facebook itself lately received some bad news about leaking user data. ads that are blocked on facebook is not too big. the most important role is advertising on youtube.

I think they are trying to distance themselves from whatever problem might result in investing in ICOs. We are aware how some has give a bad reputation to cryptocurrency by conducting scam ICO. I believe Facebook just want to protect users and also their image.

Its pretty strange news for me. On the one hand facebook being social media platform is used as an advertising platform as well and on the other hand they are banning the crypto ads and Ico's .I fail to understand this decision and also may be they are looking from long term point of view to just be away from crypto and not be held responsible for scam ico.s We do not know but this may also be a reason ,lets hope best and ensure the crypto world is still respected.

facebook has create new policy that prohibits ads such as binary options initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency. that's why right now we doesn't see any crypto related advertisement on facebook.

I think there are still some cryptocurrency ads and ICO hanging around in the facebook window, and there are also google ads that still provide cryptocurrency ads, in my opinion it's just a conspiracy alone that makes new investors play panic and eventually sell their assets and many players old who took the opportunity to buy as much as possible.

Shocking I must say and I am surprised as well. But I think the reason they started banning was because of the numerous fraud that were associating with it frequently. In order to save the community from numerous attacks. They had to totally take it out until they find a way to keep these under checks.

They are banning cryptocurrency related ads, but at the same time there are rumors that Facebook can launch their own cryptocurrency lmao. Just imagine combining blockchain with Facebook  Grin it's pure BS if you ask me, but that's my own opinion. Also I recently came across few crypto related ads on Facebook which were not banned. If you have the knowledge to cloak your links well or just use a paid cloaking service you can put any type of ad in Facebook. It's not going to last much, but still it can attract few thousands of people  Smiley

That is a pretty strong move from Facebook, but they do have a history of making rash and unpopular decisions. I think people will gradually move away from Facebook as their censorship and nanny state ideas have basically ruined what was a useful tool.

I thinks it a wrong  news information, because until now people can advertise bitcoin in facebook or other kind of ICO campaign and i m the one to prove that, because facebook not probihited an ads in bitcoin ICO,because all have a free will to advertise or promote all campaign in your wall.the only things that facebook banned are those who sent a pornographic video, and picture they erased that contains to maintain the image of facebook in good advertising social media ads and site.but this cryptocurrency continue to its  own advertisment.
I agree, as we open the sites Facebook, the first we have seen or notice is that bitcoin was still there. Because Facebook  is for everyone and its free and who willing to promote if what would they like to advertise. But if Facebook banning ads for bitcoin there is a big effect, especially to spreading the good news about bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be banned, because its very useful that can help a lot of people.

I also wonder why Facebook is forbidden to advertise ICO, But for me, like what other say, it was a harsh decision of Facebook.

This may affect the new incoming coin marketing process, but we still have other ways to tell people about cryptocurrency. Facebook may see the negative side of ICO, I can feel facebook sentiment because not all or most of ICO is shady and only focus in making profit. They may think that they are used by the shade, the sad thing is that there is an ICO that is worth the investment and holds many promises in the future. Hope they will change their minds and turn things around for the benefit of the entire ecosystem of cryptocurrentcy.

Facebook is one of our ways to promote bitcoin. It's is way easier to tell people about cryptocurrency since most of the people has a facebook. It's a big loss for cryptos now that facebook banned bitcoin and ICOs. It's a big loss for those investors and believers of bitcoin.

Anyway, there's still other ways to promote crypto in social media. And I am also hoping that the founder of facebook and the entire team will change their minds about cryptocurrency and see the positive side of it.
