That is a pretty strong move from Facebook, but they do have a history of making rash and unpopular decisions. I think people will gradually move away from Facebook as their censorship and nanny state ideas have basically ruined what was a useful tool.

I thinks it a wrong  news information, because until now people can advertise bitcoin in facebook or other kind of ICO campaign and i m the one to prove that, because facebook not probihited an ads in bitcoin ICO,because all have a free will to advertise or promote all campaign in your wall.the only things that facebook banned are those who sent a pornographic video, and picture they erased that contains to maintain the image of facebook in good advertising social media ads and site.but this cryptocurrency continue to its  own advertisment.
Thats true, that there is the wrong news about advertise bitcoin on facebook, but as we see now there are still crypto advertise. Everytime we get online, we see that bitcoin will appear immediately. So this wrong news was scattered only the people who against btc. But it cannot bring the bad effect to the investors, but despite of this bitcoin was still on the facebook that advertise.

I think facebook will do everything(I don't mean something negative or criminal) for their own well-being,they will do everything to earn much more money...Why? for example today we see less facebook business pages, less conservative pages and groups because they want more paid ads to earn and earn.that's why I think  ads for bitcoin will not be prohibited in the near future, more importantly there will be more bitcoin ads than another business ads, because its something new for society which must be broaden, because its not as easy to understand as for example concrete X product's essence. So for me and I think facebook's regulations related to bitcoin is not right, first of all by this way they are limiting people's will to do everything in free competition in free economy.that's our choice.

Was it an official statement by facebook or just some social media fake news?  I don't think facebook would do that.  They are earning profits from advertisement traffic and they have no issue at all with bitcoin.  Just my opinion.

This might have a negative impact on crypto market,  but there is a positive thing in it. Facebook is banning only misleading advertisement s related to cryptocurrency, which means it bans those adsvwhich are really doing scam. And I think it's a good idea.

Though if that would be final, there still internet tools who advertise cryptocurrencies specially youtube. I personally encounter those ads whenever I surf on youtube videos and its really fascinating.

I think if facebook is banning ads for bitcoin and ICOs there will be an effect in our bitcoin because ads can help us to get an worker and when we have a lot of worker it can be that the price of bitcoin will be hight, and it's bad Cry Cheesy

This will not go down well with bounty programs and I think Facebook will lose some daily users. I'm wondering how distribution of stakes will be like if Facebook end ads on their platform and a bounty is ongoing, facebook bounty very intresting and funny, you must watching posted compaght

I think the banning of advertisements for Bitcoins and ICO companies is not good in the company
but we should consider that there is a reasonable reason why the facebook will do that, and that is to protect the public from the fraudulent scam which is happen as of this moment.

I think this will happen very soon as many people get scammed because of those ICO's promoted in that social media. We can't blame mark for doing that, because many people will save from the those scammy icos.

I think it's just a conspiracy because I still often see some cryptocurrency ads and some ICOs that are on facebook. Don't forget, the Facebook user based isn't that tech savvy, and a run of complaints from soccer moms that have lost their kids college fund isn't going to do Facebooks already tarnished reputation.

Facebook always wanted to have a monoploy over user data and ad revenues. With new and new crypto projects coming daily the day is not too far when we will not need facebook. One can check Presiam and instar network projects which are threatening the way facebook works.
It will be really unethical if one day facebook launches its own cryptocurrency.

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

I think Facebook will not do not because they generate profit through this crypto ads but lets wait for the official announcement of facebook regarding this news if facebook ban crypto in their site I think it has a big impact in crypto world even it is a small portion.

now there is no more ico ads on facebook, also ads about bitcoin. the reason they may think that ico is a scam, and they do not want to engage in a promotion on ico.

This can influence the showcasing procedure of new approaching coins, yet in any case despite everything we have different means and approaches to tell the general population about the digital money. Facebook may took a gander at the negative side that ICOs have, I can feel the conclusion of facebook for not all or most ICOs are shady and simply center in benefit taking. They may imagine that they are being utilized by the shady ones, the pitiful part is that there are ICOs that merit contributing to and holds a great deal of guarantee later on. Expectation they will alter their opinion and turn things around for the advantage of the entire biological community of cryptocurrentcy.

You have a point, I dont even know why they decide for a sudden action involves prohibiting advertisements and Bitcoin related news in their platform, when few months after they allegedly accept Bitcoin in their way of payments rrgarding advertisements. This will affect so much to project teams and if this is hundred percent legit it will be a cons to their side.
