I just don't think its appropriate for ICOs to land investments on faceboon and sadly some advertisements are just straight up spam ads, Facebook in my own opinion did the right thing here, if ICOs wanted to advertise their platform then I don't think Facebook is the perfect platform to present their ICOs.

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

There are many other ways to promote bitcoin aside from Facebook. perhaps they are just clearing there way  out for possible misused of the site! But we can not denied the fact that Facebook  has huge contribution when it comes to advertisement.i hope something can be done to work this out for good.

Was it an official statement by facebook or just some social media fake news?  I don't think facebook would do that.  They are earning profits from advertisement traffic and they have no issue at all with bitcoin.  Just my opinion.

I think facebook ban advertising because too many ICO's in this years. Too many ICO advertisement maybe considered as a spam. But it is not a problem, investing in ICO can make you return 10x++ of your investment !!

the challenge does not only happen to Bitcoin but to all cryptocurrencies, but rest assured it's only temporary, it could be this step up to start developing their own crypto coins, Bitcoin and ICO's will not stop or disappear because of Facebook so don't worry too much about news of propaganda like this...

Facebook should be more open minded and more advanced. Many other ads on facebook run well. Why Bitcoin should be banned. Facebook should conduct reliable research on bitcoin first before making policy

I think it is their right to decide on banning the Crypto currency ads but of course if they will do that they had ever think of the income that they will loose in that decision? Advertisement on facebook are one of the sources of their income. So it means banning them would loose a higher income.

I think that blocking advertising is wrong. I also think that facebook wants to launch its own crypto currency and it will surely happen. I think they do not want competition.

It is kind of sad to hear that Facebook doesn't promote crypto in order to orient people about cryptocurrency. Still, it is a good move by facebook to stop promoting icos. Many people are now scammed of icos and Facebook would be responsible for that. Even this would be a hindrance to show to other people about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, the Facebook are thinking for the sake of people.

Pledgecamp is in the news because Randi Zuckerberg is one of the advisors of this upcoming cryptocurrency project, Randi Zuckerberg is a sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. It would be interesting to see what will be the next move of Facebook.

Almost all the Facebook crypto related ads I have seen are clearly scams. Common scams involve phishing sites for miners and very shady ICOs.

I would consider this a good thing because someone who gets scammed in one of their first transactions will probably not want to continue using bitcoin.

They do have the right to do this. But being a social media platform, they should know better. Social media sites are now for advertising purposes. They're just doing this to clean their hands off of possible scam ICO's.

This facebook is banning crypto and ICO ads but until now their are more ads that's still we see on facebook, I think they are not serious enough to ban all ICO ads on their site because ads is a facebook life no ads means no facebook.
live without ads for Facebook death , but the development of the crypt and new platforms, including social crypto networks is a very big threat to Facebook. so he struggles with their methods of competition.

This can affect the marketing process of new incoming coins, but nevertheless we still have other means and ways to let the people know about the cryptocurrency. Facebook might looked at the negative side that ICOs have, I can feel the sentiment of facebook for not all or most ICOs are shady and just focus in profit taking. They might think that they are being used by the shady ones, the sad part is that there are ICOs that are worth investing to and holds a lot of promise in the future. Hope they will change their mind and turn things around for the benefit of the whole ecosystem of cryptocurrentcy.

As far as I know, the reason why Facebook banned ads for bitcoin is that of increasing population of scammers in the bitcoin community. It is definitely a good reason since there's a lot of misleading information about bitcoin.

I hope they will consider it again. Because Facebook is one of social medias that can reach out to millions of people. And spreading words about bitcoin and cryptocurrency world, everyone will benefit on this.
