Banning/unbanning cryto ads publicly seems like publicity stunt.

Instead of saying something like:
"guys, we are suspending crypto ads until we put in place a system able to filter trash",
they go publicly saying "we ban crypto - we rule".

Facebook had to face the wrath of some 40,000,000 bitcoin/cryptocurrency users. Already there was #deletefacebook campaign after the data leak at facebook and facebook being a hub for criminals and illegal activities.

It's exciting news that Facebook has revoked its ban on cryptocurency ads, I hope other social media will take the same policy as facebook, as this could be one factor that can influence price increases and better cryptocurency growth.

Everyone will slowly understand crypto is the future, so hence they will remove ban and accept the crypto in many places. I hope Gov official also understand that people love crypto and let it run its own world.

It was about time that Facebook removed this ban. The crypto market is just too big now to avoid it completely. They are just going to be missing on the huge revenues that they could be making instead of nothing at all. Also the younger generation is going in favor of the crypto currencies and Facebook doesn't wants to miss out on that too.

but it can not be denied that facebook is one of the social media that succeeds many cryptocurrency projects. the absence of facebook will have an impact on the trust of cryptocurrency. hopefully there will be a better solution than this removal.

In January 2018, Facebook imposed a ban only on advertising related to binary auctions. This remains in force until today. So far it continues to remove ads that are misleading and products of this advertising. I think this is the right decision. Untrue information should not be distributed.

This a great news, it will make the use of Crypto currency to reach more people in the world as we have many percentage of people using facebook...
Though Facebook has removed ban from the ads of cryptocurrencies. But the news is not likely to impact the Crypto segment significantly, as per a survey, less than 2% traffic comes from the social media advertisements. About 98% traffic is organic which comes through different channels.

Yes but it gives a signal that it will be more and more accepted. Since then there will be a more important pourcentage of the traffic that will come from these channels that are more known but the "common" people that are today not aware of crypto world.

So I think it a very good start and return of tendancy. Like South Korea new acceptance.

Facebook is lifting its ban on cryptocurrency ads which went into effect in January. After months of evaluation, the company decided to allow some crypto ads on its platform. Advertisers must submit a request form with details of their businesses and the types of crypto content to be promoted.

Starting June 26, we’ll be updating our policy to allow ads that promote cryptocurrency and related content from pre-approved advertisers. But we’ll continue to prohibit ads that promote binary options and initial coin offerings.

Yes this is the best way to handle this issues, seriously with the rate in which new coin are registered in blockchain make it difficult to differentiate between the real and scam, scam coin as really cause problems in social medias and this as drawn the attention of the CEO of facebook to come with the ideal of banning cryptocurrency ads in January. Which is not the best way to handle issues like this, I think the current decision is perfect.

I guess Facebook now still wants to cash in on crypto money and now they have decided to reinstate ICOS for advertising as long as they have certain licenses or conditions to meet. I think this is a step in the right direction and there is a rumor about Facebook and Coinbase but not sure how true it is, we shall have to wait and see about what is happening there. Bitcoin looks to drop further over the next couple of weeks to this year's all time low.

Its same as countries banning the crypto because they don't understand it. Soon as they do, they'll unban and even support the crypto. That's exactly what Facebook had done few months back and doing now by supporting it.

I think the reason for facebook to banned ICO promotion on their platform is to protect their users from scam/fraud ICO, in someway i agree with this, because if many newbie got scammed on their first attempt to invest in cryptocurrency or bitcoin it will make cryptocurrency more difficult to spread around the world. I think now is a good move again from facebook to sorted ICO on their platform, hope this will make a good impact for bitcoin and anything related to cryptocurrency

Well, there is no surprise in this news because banning entire crypto related ads is like banning ads for the companies using fiat currencies just because some companies were involved in the scam. This logic doesn't make any sense in fiat and so that in crypto. This is something that I said 4 months ago,

it actually makes perfect sense if 99% of the companies were scams.
and so far what we have seen from ICOs have been 100% scams. you may think only a couple of them were scams but you would be wrong. they were obvious scams. the rest are non-obvious ones where they lie and deceive people into thinking they are an actual company they to think they are actually doing something when in reality they just create a token, receive the money and stop doing anything else... that is scam.

Well, how else? I read I recently read that Facebook is going to buy Coinbase. Maybe Facebook will release it`s own crypto currency?
