Not a newbie but new in the altcoin space. I'm trying to find out some altcoin to invest a little amount. Suggest me some factors to consider before picking a coin. I am holding BTC and ETH as of now.

BNB Coin is good altcoin beside ethereum. With back up from big exchangers binance, i think BNB Coin price will increase and reach at least $50 end this year. IEOs from binance always sold out in a second and give profits to their investor and BNB Coin used for this

Good thing that you are now holding BTC and ETH at this moment but for me to say, a lot of things to consider when you are buying some coins to hold or anything, first things first are the project constant updates, this is important because it means to say that the team are working behind in order to improve the project in a timely basis, another thing is that how useful their project is.

There are a lot of factors to consider to pick the beat altcoins, but I think the most important is a good working product. And this is because if a altcoin have a good working product, then it already have a large which will create demand for the altcoin.

Seeking public opinion on threads like this should only guide you to do some research on the coins mentioned, and not a surety to invest in the coins mentioned. I'll suggest TRX, EOS, NEO, ICX, VET.  Do your own research.

First of all, you should understand that no one will give you investment advice as it is your money and only you have to decide how to distribute it, I advise you to study the cryptocurrency market in more detail and choose tokens for investments yourself and then study the projects you have chosen and only after that make a decision on investing.

If you are looking at some altcoins that will give much profit, then it won't be btc and ETH, look for altcoins that have a good history and have dumped so much, this do not include recently launched coins that still have a low circulation compared to total supply. One of such coins is xvg, just invest little amount in them and leave for some months

You need to tell us more information about how long you want to invest and how much. For example, in the near future I expect that the income can bring tokens BTT or XRP. For long term investments I would choose Tezos and Litecoin.

You need to do extensive research before considering any altcoin. Research is the song everyone sings in this space. Also, consider joining the community of the project for feedbacks.

After deciding if you are investing on the short term or long term; you need to dyor and spot out the longevity of the project, finding out if it has what it takes to get increase in value the next 3-6 months

The more information you get; and facts you note, the more you acknowledge the best altcoins

I think there is a lot good altcoin or investment beside bitcoin and ethereum. Its true that bitcoin and ethereum is safest investment in cryptomarket but i think Binance coin or EOS is good alternative beside ethereum or bitcoin

I would look for its age, marketcap, volume, fluctuation on the last year at least. Also you should check the altcoin total supply: currencies with limited supply tend to get more valuable on long run, like bitcoin.
And of course, if you want to pick the best altcoin better to pick one from the top 10 (although you are already hodling ether, which is considered the best altcoin).

With BTC and ETH your investment is safer to hold, but if you have spare money and you wanted to invest for some more, you can try to checkout BNB as it's being use for the exchange as utility Token.

The success of this Exchange will bring the value of this token to a much better level, you can buy and hold or use it to invest with their launchpad IEO offerings.

For me, i think the first step to consider for picking a good altcoins or crypto is the volume capacity of that coin, which means bitcoin and ethereum has the most volume coins in the market, investing in bitcoin and ethereum is a very good way. The two coin has the ability to raise its price and even the price drops, still the bitcoin and ethereum coin are good for a long term investment plans.

You can view the chart, search for them on telegram, twitter, ... If they are mentioned a lot at the time you search, it will be able to pump more than other altcoin.

In my opinion Maybe you should see the movement of a coin and the volume of the coin so that you can decide which investment to coin, but now your choice to hold bitcoin and ethereum I think it's very appropriate and there will be big things in bitcoin and ethereum
both are indeed chosen as the main choice in investing many people. this is because indeed the big profits that can be obtained and also the influence of both in each market movement is very large. so that is the right decision

3... 2... 1... Launch!
If you are seeking to invest in alternative assets its best to evaluate the startups potential and ensure a project has a good quality product that has a real world use case and its own ecosystem, and be conscious of not choosing any that might be considered a security in the future as these may not be worth your while
