Phinnaeus Gage if you have time on your hands found you a new project. http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-table-from-old-barn-board/

What he built, wouldn't even fetch $150 at a flea market, let alone trying to mimic an $800 table. The wood he used wasn't even old growth lumber. Look at the growth rings--too wide. Then he over planned the lumber, taking away all the patina, if it had any to begin with. Genius!

The lumber he used, I burn. The lumber he should have used would have cost him $20. The base also sucks for most any primitive/industrial market.

Here's what he should have build, but without planning the top, priced at $1,000.

Is that official barnwood ??

Or have you used special treatment methods to get that  "AUTHENTIC" barnwood look & feel .....I think you where going for the "Little house on the prairie" Genre

Holy cow, this thread's gone off the rails if we're talking about Star Citizen. With that said: I was there installing $150 1MB SIMM chips so I could get more RAM to run Wing Commander on a 486SX! The SX standed for SuX because there was no math co-processor like the 486DX. Strike Commander and Privateer were awesome too.

An Oculus Rift & GPU upgrade are in the works & I was an original backer for Star Citizen because I'm a sucker for a good space or terrestrial dogfight.  Grin

I'm sure the wife ain't going to like the even deeper immersion into digital Valhalla.  Cheesy  Cheesy

Wing comander was PHASE 2 of the original ELITE ...now that was the original trading game

I think u have to go back to taipan to get any more lower level than that Cheesy

Predictions for Jody's Blog Tonight?

Today was the day they were to be awash in assemblers and components.

They felt compelled to issue a Saturday update which included no movement on anything except 10 days of singles.

12 working days left and on average tonight they have to ship 20 days of singles (plus everything else) every single day.

Quick aside: Does anybody know how to Kool Aid stains out of a beard?
Bleach works well, but you have to dip the beard carefully and not get any on your skin.  Bonus for you is you're already gray, so no one will notice the bleaching.

Sure... but if you bleach the hair then the Kool-aid will act like a dye when PG drinks more of the Kool-aid
Wait wait wait... where is PG getting this Kool-Aid from?!?!?!?  DAMMIT PG!

Damn it, bcp19! Now we have to declare the year supply of Kool Aid we BOTH received from our gracious host. It never ends!
Oh, it's MY fault?!? YOU stole all the raspberry!!!!

Turn this into a new thread/poll so BFL actually sees it. I dont see ANY downside other than BFL losing money

You are welcome to do that if you think it will help.

The question of whether BFL was mining the rigs during burnin was answered by Josh on the Shoutbox some time ago. As I receall, he indicated that the units are not mining the blockchain but running nonces on a test network in their office FWIW. There was a comment to the effect that it would be too time consuming to set up individual machines to mine the blockchain while burning in. Joe's approach may alleviate that perhaps.

Well maybe BCP or PG could bring the idea to Josh now that they have a relationship with him
