yes, the government should encourage the citizens to become self-sufficient. in the time of Muammar Gadaffi he encouraged all the families to grow chickens so that they have eggs, i think that worked on them which is why during his time, the country was called the last hope for Africa. anyway, history is cruel to him.
but its time to really make it the right option for people to grow crops in the backyard and farm, chickens in order for the family to have their own food resources without relying on any company for jobs.
Agriculture is very important for every country. Without agriculture it is not possible to ensure the food of a country. But these days people have started looking at agriculture in a bad light. According to people, agriculture is the work of the poor. But they don't know how much success can be achieved by doing agriculture with modern technology. And if it is possible to produce different crops in one's own country, it is very beneficial for the country. Govt. Agricultural training should be provided and loans at low or no interest should be given to agricultural entrepreneurs.

Food will always be crucial, despite the way that nations are turning their focus to other resources. Even counties are gradually returning to investing in agriculture since the focus is gradually shifting from gasoline to electric automobiles, which are already on the market and whose demand is gradually declining. In some countries, agriculture is thought to be a thing of poor because they aren't developed enough. For example, in my country, people in villages still use hoe, spade, pickaxe and bull for processing the land. Also, people in villages aren't educated, everyone leaves villages to move to cities and those who are left in villages are considered losers in my country. So, we created an economy that depends on tourism and immigrants. We import food from other countries and are heavily dependent on them. This is definitely bad for our country and it really needs to significantly invest in farming. Government has to try to change the poor mentality of people and make farming an honourable job for people, the government should develop villages, build gyms, swimming pools and some other buildings for fun activities, it should build and give free apartments to young people, should give them some money to get farming education and start farming on their own land. This will help the country to secure food. When country has a good agriculture, it has enough space for the rest of the population to focus on different fields, including sports, science and etc... I can see where you're going at OP, most farmers in my country are facing that hardship too, they feel like they don't have a choice, most of the farmers are heavily exploited too, most of them don't even own the land that they till and reap the during harvest season comes around. I hope that the farmers would someday learn that they can bend others to their will, they create the food supply, they can easily not give it out and do a strike, let the middlemen starve.
Sadly, they are being controlled by the rich people. Their lands was being bought by rich people or their crops are getting funded by rich people or it could be that their harvest are being bought by the rich people at a cheaper price and held it to make it looks like there are a shortage of product to sell it in the market at a much higher price.
Farmers are people with good intentions who only know nothing both to grow their crops healthy to be able to offer the public a good harvest, but the emergence of the businessmen have made everything look complicated in the farming industry. Farmers were supposed to be the one prospering from their own harvest, but these businessmen are actually the one who are earning multiple times the price they paid to buy products from the farmers, and the farmers on the other end are earning a living like an employee who lives from paycheck to paycheck.

It is not just that agriculture is done commercially, marginal and middle-level farmers also do agriculture to fulfill their food needs. But yes agricultural work is very necessary to be done commercially in this new era. Bro, nothing good comes easy. I know a lot of young farmers who make money from farming and since farming is taking on a new shape in a mechanized way, it is much easier than before and you don't even need to have machines because they can be rented or you go for human labor. So just prepare yourself for observation, and there are places you can rent if you don't have money to buy. What annoys me is that people think agriculture is for poor people but they are wrong.

It sounds unreal, how a good marketing and the globsl presence of social media can boost demand of an specific crop and increasing it's value to the point of being considered to be a very important internacional commodity now.
Hopefully, it will continue to be affordable in the long term for people who live within the tropics.
Bro, nothing good comes easy. I know a lot of young farmers who make money from farming and since farming is taking on a new shape in a mechanized way, it is much easier than before and you don't even need to have machines because they can be rented or you go for human labor. So just prepare yourself for observation, and there are places you can rent if you don't have money to buy. What annoys me is that people think agriculture is for poor people but they are wrong.
The technology is also in agriculture sector and farmers are no longer farming traditional crops that are meant for that region region. The demand of crops and fruits is everywhere, for instance, avocado is common fruit in many countries like Sri Lanka also cheap there but due to internet it's benefits are advocated everywhere. Now in my country (Pakistan) farmers are growing it due to its demand increased demand and selling it at good price because of gap in supply to demand.
