Any country that doesn't have policies that supports agriculture is at the risk of famine even if they are financially strong they can't import everything needed for their people. And every politicians knew that but they are not giving much priority because it doesn't put much money in their pockets when they support agricultural activities of individuals so they are not giving importance to it like they do in other kinds that involves corporates.
As a matter of fact, if there was no commercial agriculture, there would be no economy, because everyone would have to produce all their own food, which is close to a full time job. Just think. You have to have land, chickens, cows, goats, sheep, horses, (called livestock) and land to grow feed for them, and a place (a garden) to grow your vegetables, and a field to grow wheat and other grains to make bread and whatever else you want to make and eat. And a field to grow cotton or some kind fibre to make your own clothes. And you could only eat and wear what you can produce in your area. If you lived in an area that is too cold for most fruit to be grown, you would not know what subtropical and tropical fruit was, and never eat it. Just think of how the Eskimos lived in older times. The only food supply they had was what they could kill or catch in the ocean. They ate fish and seals and whales and caribou they killed on the land. You ought to go up north and try and live like that for a few yrs.) But thanks to modern commercial agriculture, you evidently don’t even have a clue about how your food gets to the store, where you just walk into any time, you want something to eat. And it comes from anywhere in the world. As well as walking into clothing stores and buy anything you want to wear.

These costs contribute to the economic resilience of farmers, helping them cope with uncertainties such as weather-related events or market fluctuations. Government policies, including subsidies, incentives, and support programs, can influence farming economics. Changes in policy, such as alterations to subsidy structures or trade agreements, may impact the overall cost structure for farmers. farming plays a vital role in providing food security, supporting economies, preserving the environment, promoting cultural heritage, and driving rural development. Its significance extends far beyond food production, making it an essential sector for sustainable development and the well-being of societies worldwide.
