The diff is up to 230k.  For a script coin, this is difficult.  It's right up with litecoin now.

Has no one noticed since it started, it's been jumping x4 each retarget? This is the lowest difficulty jump yet at only x3.5... not to mention it's scrypt difficulty is only 3.5 as opposed to litecoin which is 364... so it's x100 away from litecoin still. Besides, difficulty is a good sign of a surviving coin, it's difficulty won't go up unless people support it (unless it's prone to asic, which it's not at the moment).

It's so far away in terms of difficulty from litecoin at this time.

Huge jump like that is it a good sign for Feathercoin's future or not ?

It's a sign people are interested and continuing to mine past the easy stages, yes. As for its future, give it a few days and see if the difficulty continues to rise Wink

I'd like to solo-mine FeatherCoins, but my hashrate is very low. So I thought, if it's possible, I'd try to solo-pool mine it - I mean to create my own pool of clients to add their hashrates. Is there a simple way to do it? If so, how? Can I use pooler's CPU miner?

Seriously guys, how can I create my own mini-pool? Not sure if worth to bother after the difficulty jump, though...

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but you can run the FC client on one machine, and then point all of your CPU/GPUs to that local computer, connecting with cgminer or something to 192.168.*.* (whatever your IP is), and mine that way. Is that what you mean? You'd be solo-"pool" mining yourself?

Difficulty has shot up way to fast.

I had a top 15 hash rate in the pool earlier and after mining for about 5 hours I have 4.5 FC. Really not worth bothering with now.

This is where you decide that you'll either stick with the new coin and hope/think it will go somewhere, or jump ship back to btc/ltc to make some moolah that's readily available now.

Ok good deal, I kind of felt bad for still getting transactions Smiley  Glad to know it is normal behavior.

Thank you

I mined a bunch solo the first night, joining up in the pool now at http://fpool1.zapto.org:19327/static/

Kind of fun to see so much action around this new coin.  Thanks for all the informative posts and assistance from everyone.

Not sure if an issue with the pool or my understanding of how it pays out, but I stopped pool mining here about a half hour ago and still getting frequent incoming transactions that match my previous hashrate contribution...  Not sure if there is a bug or if just takes a while for the shares to all pay out.  Wanted to drop a note here to see if others noticed (don't want to steal from active pool miners) anything similar.

Thanks!

That's normal behaviour @P2Pool.

Since payouts on found blocks do not commence until the found block gets 100 confirmations.. you will see that delay in payments.

New Difficulty change is 3.5 times higher at 230k

Spot on. I guess we have found the difficulty ceiling for the current hash power. It has been going up a by a factor of four each time until now.

Sorry for the delay, but I let it run overnight. My stale rate is very very low. 32k accepted, ~150 rejected @220kh/s.

what miner are you using? cgminer? minerd? cudaminer?

Which settings do you use for the miner?

I use cgminer on a 5870 stock. I use the string that was posted on the pool website. "cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://fpool1.zapto.org:28339 -u your_user_name.1 -p x -s 1 --expiry 1 --queue 0"
