I doubt the performance of his legendary rival recently, Ronaldo is now 37 years old, it will be very difficult for him, his stamina will be very far from his heyday. Likewise, Lionel Messi is 35 years old, but in every game he plays, Messi is somewhat better than the game shown by Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
Their era will soon be replaced by new rivals in the world of football, there will be new star candidates in my opinion who will be present such as:

1. Jude Bellingham (England)
2. Gavi (Spain)
3. Bukayo Saka (English)
4. Jamal Musiala (Germany)
5. Pedri (Spain)
6. Vinicius Junior (Brazil)
The Team for England could also be a favorite this World Cup. The players in the midfield are young and with little experience in the nationalteam. But the offense is very good. Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Saka Bukayo play currently so nice in the Premier League. And there's also Raheem Serling  don't forget.

England has always had some of the best players in their national team like David Beckham,Wayne Rooney,Michael Owen and others yet they have never won anything big like the World Cup since the 1966 title. Now we are again in such situation with great players like the one you mentioned here yet they missed the last Euro in the final against Italy despite playing well. They need a winning mentality for bigger competitions like the World Cup which seems to be the thing that hinder their performance, they should believe more in themselves,of course without underestimating others but this is the biggest problem they have as a team.

Right, but the main reason is this will become the last world cup for messi which will become a very crucial moment for him if he will not able to get a good result in the world cup in qatar. i guess messi has been preparing all of things he needs to give his best performance with argentina. We can hope that to happen but another countries have so many big players like french with benzema. World cup is the right place to prove which country that will become the best country to win the trophy.

The world cup played every 4 years and Lionel Messi is currently 35 years old. There are high possibility that the FIFA 2022 World Cup Qatar will be the last world cup in his football career. Can't expected later if Lionel Messi have consistent performance with the club and get chance can participant at World Cup 2026 or four years later. I think depend with achievement get by Argentina, if Lionel Messi success get first World Cup trophy actually he will retired from national team, but I doubt if Messi get failure again in World Cup he has ambition waiting until four years later.

Left few days later before World Cup begin and excited because Qatar as the host have enthusiastic preparing with most excited event, several national team participants have arrived in Qatar and they have several days to know about weather and try to adopt with new atmosphere.

I still find Luca Modric on the squad, He is 35 old year which I think is not good again to run to get the ball. better to put him on the front together with Mandzukic. but the formation I look, Modric will play as playmaker to supply a ball to front. so when meet Maroco where have Ziyech and Hakimi, there will be surprise if draw. We have to forget Croatia as finalist long time ago because they have the old player inside.

Not only about Modric but there are still some good players as well like Perisic or maybe Kovavic in tandem with Modric in midfield.
Modric himself is likely to be the last for him to lead his colleagues in the Croatian national team so it is certain that he will not waste the last title for him.
Today they had a friendly match with some of their substitute players and the results were still quite good against Saudi Arabia they won with a narrow score of 1 goal.
Don't just stick to one or two names when you see a country, this is a game that relies on teamwork that will go hand in hand in matches. If we look at a name like Luca Modric then we will make conclusions that will not favor him because of his age. But if we look at the whole then we will see a different assessment of them. There are several names in Croatia who are very likely to play well and create a balance for the Croatian game. Here Luca Modrid plays a very vital role for his Croatia, because the position he occupies will greatly determine the direction of their game.

They do have a chance at it but I personally feel it's still a bit difficult.
Croatia has a huge advantage in this regard but even more so given their previous record they still look very strong for Morocco.
In terms of players, it is also clear that Croatia is superior, so this possibility will be an easy win for them.

I believe that these friendly games are not valuable at all to derive any conclusions from them. Who in the world would risk to get injured right before everything starts in such a game? Hell, I would definitely play at 70% maximum unless I still have to lose something and might not make it into the best 11 of the squad.

Friendly matches cannot be an accurate indicator. No player cares about friendlies. Teams play mainly as substitutes to avoid injury before the cup. Nobody gives 100% to the field. There are no players playing abroad in the Saudi Arabian squad. The quality of the Arab league is obvious, it's difficult to get a good player from there. Croatia won the match without difficulty. Even if the match had ended in a draw or Croatia had lost, nothing would have changed. Dalic tried a few tactics he had in mind, that's all. We should not attach too much meaning to these matches.

Yeah, but friendly matches are also a good opportunity for players who are not in the starting lineup to show their performance. I know that no one wants to get injured in a friendly match just before the startbof the World Cup but I really expected a better game. I guess I just can't wait for the World Cup to begin and to see the real performance of all players.

So Croatia managed to beat Saudi Arabia in today's friendly game but it was tougher than expected. Saudi Arabia was probably a test game for the first game against Morocco. Croatia had two goals canceled because of the offside and I think that Dalic should be a little worried because Croatia didn't dominate as it would be expected. Saudi Arabia missed few really good chances and just because of that Croatia won in the end. Interestingly, Luka Modric wasn't in the starting lineup. I guess that Dalic wanted to test how would his team play without their best playmaker. And judging by the attendance (the game was played in Saudi Arabia), local fans couldn't care less about their football team.

Ronaldo and Messi gonna perform their best as individuals playing for their country. This is their last world cup, am expecting them to deliver their best for their country cos all eyes and expectations are on them. The chances of Portugal and Argentina meeting each other at the finals is very slim, both countries will play their best but not reach the finals. If there is a way Portugal will meet Argentine in the world cup, I will love it. Let both goat play against each other the last time before they call football quit
They might disappoint you, because the expectation of these two players by their fans are very high. They might tried their best but their best might not good enough for the fans that is how high expectation always be. Because  this is their last world cup so they should play and killed themselves, please you people (fans) of these players should do things in a calm way. It is not only Ronaldo and Messi that are in the world cup, other players might perform well more than them. Though they are good players but not all time. We cannot say or predict team because of one player. I have been saying this since, but let see what will happen in the tournament.
Ronaldo and Messi are very often talked about at the 2022 World Cup because this is the last time for the two football legends to play in the highest tournament. His age is no longer young, making fans hope that one of these two players can get a World Cup trophy before retiring from the national team.

The world cup is not about Ronaldo and Messi, there are still many other star players from various countries who want to help their country won the most prestigious tournament.
All teams will fight to be the best. If I may say so, I really hope that Portugal and Argentina will go to the final. Ronaldo and Messi will face each other to be the best at the end of their careers and will be the most beautiful story when they hang up their boots.

The World Cup in Qatar will kick off anytime soon and the teams and players are getting prepared and every player is planning to get their hands on the cup..

The two iconic football greats will be taking the stage of the World Cup for the last time and I think  that's the only trophy they as footballer have not gotten their hands on

Me personally I would love to see these legends perform once more in Qatar and it will a very exquisite end to their World Cup faith if their two had to battle it out in the final themselves
Do you mean Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Lionel Messi (Argentina)?

I think it's very possible because these two national teams are the favorites in this World Cup. but it feels like it would be too beautiful if it becomes reality. But I also seem to be a little expecting the same thing about it.

and If you look at Argentina's position in group C, then I think Argentina can qualify from the group stage quite easily. because Poland, Saudi Arabia and Mexico are not too troublesome opponents. but Poland deserves to be reckoned with. because Robert Lewandowski and his friends definitely don't want it to be like in 2018 which could only reach the group phase. so Poland must be working harder.

And for Portugal who are in Group H. I think they also have a big chance to qualify from the group stage. Group H's strongest opponent is probably Uruguay. and for Ghana I don't know much because in 2018 Ghana doesn't seem to be in the World Cup. But South Korea also needs to be concerned. because Uruguay and South Korea are always full of surprises at every World Cup.

Romelu Lukaku is a really big player for them. He is one of the best strikers in the world who can do great things on the forward line. With these features, he will be a football player that I can enjoy watching in the world cup. I hope he recovers quickly from injury and shows his skills here for us with all his might. Belgium is one of the strong teams of this tournament.
And it looks like Romelu Lukaku will recover and be able to play in the Qatar World Cup, I'm trying to browse the news about Romelu Lukaku, now he has joined the squad in Kuwait, where Belgium is preparing for the World Cup, this is good news for Belgium because Romelu Lukaku can play with Eden Hazard as a good tandem up front, so that the Belgian attack line will be sharper and more dangerous.

The Belgian team is also very complete at the moment, they have great players in all positions, thus the Belgium squad is declared strong and quite perfect in facing the Qatar World Cup this time.

Mere looking at the countries in group F, there's no single doubt that Belgium and Croatia will qualify in the group but hopefully it's not going to be an easy fight for the both countries. There's still Canada which have quality set of players that are hungered to represent their countries in the world cup. But Belgium and Croatia have set of experience players who also have a master plan of playing high level games, they will easily beat their opponents to the next round.

I often see there are small surprises every first game of the world cup. Group F will open with the Maroco vs Croatia match on November 23.  Then next Belgium vs Canada.  They had to optimize their 2 matches as the Belgium vs Croatia match was at the end. So if they lose one, their chances are still pretty big with a win two early games. For this early game I predicted 1-0 for Maroco and 2-1 for Belgiu

Why is Italy in the poll above the forum thread? They didn't qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Grin Three people voted for them.
It hasn't been updated by the OP and after this post the OP will fix the team that will be included in the vote in this thread.

Quote
Anyway, many people think that Argentina is a favorite for winning the World Cup, but the Argentinian team doesn't impress me.
Messi is far from his best years and Argentina doesn't have the great players from the previous years like Aguero or Tevez.
I expect the unexpected in this World Cup. Perhaps some outsider team would reach the final and win the trophy.
I support the Netherlands or Denmark. England has the potential to reach the semi-finals at least.
Messi is an old story and in this World Cup he will look different from the 2010 World Cup, 2014 and 2018. Of the many stories of Lionel Messi with Argentina in the World Cup tournament, 2014 was his best effort to help Argentina become runner-up.
Considering that the 2022 tournament will be held in Qatar, it is likely that there will be a lot of surprises due to the weather.

We are excited to see the Messi vs Ronaldo final. But the chances of this happening are very low. While Argentina's squad is the favorite to be a finalist, Portugal's squad is not very strong. They have several weaknesses. Also Ronaldo is not in good form now. If Ronaldo does not return to form, it will be difficult for Portugal to qualify for the second round.
Ronaldo and Messi gonna perform their best as individuals playing for their country. Many football fans want to watch the Argentina-Portugal final. Judging by the form states, it seems unlikely. But let's not forget that football is not played on paper, especially in big tournaments. A team that plays with faith can beat any team. The probability of this final is low, but there is no reason why it shouldn't happen. Let's wait and see.

Argentina is OK. They deserve a place in the final. But I am not that sure about Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo is perhaps the best player at this moment, but he lacks support from his team-mates. And Portugal is an ageing side. Ronaldo is 37, and some of the others such as Pepe, Rui Patrício, João Moutinho and José Fonte are also in their late 30s. I have heard a lot about younger players such as João Félix and Rafael Leão, but are they capable of giving adequate support to Ronaldo? I would still prefer these two instead of André Silva in the XI.

In fact, all countries deserve to be in the final, not only Argentina. Indeed, everyone predicts that Argentina will be in the final at this year's World Cup, but we cannot underestimate other countries that have the world's top players. I'm not sure about the defenders. Argentina to drive out all the world's top strikers, because Argentina has defenders who in my opinion are not strong enough to bring to the Qatar World Cup, this is what makes me doubt..

When talking about Portuguese players we cannot judge from just one point regarding the age of the players, in terms of playing football age cannot be a benchmark that these players will decrease in performance, but we can question their quality on the field, of course they have sufficient experience, in help Cristiano Ronaldo to attack the enemy's defense, the quality of young players is also a factor for Ronaldo to get supplies from new players, such as João Félix, Rafael Leão, Goncalo Guedes, Francisco Trincao, Joao Cancelo, maybe these young players will be able to support the players, who are old like Pepe, Nani, Cristiano Ronaldo, Danilo Pereira, Rui Patricio, at least that can be a reference in every match that Portugal plays in the Qatar World Cup preliminary round.

Any predictions guys on who'll be the top scorer in this World Cup? Ronaldo, Mbappe, Pedro, Lukaku, Depay, Messi? Who would you bet to be the top scorer in this upcoming World Cup? I'm rooting for Neymar or Ronaldo but the latter isn't that bad too.
Because of the problems he is facing, which I am sure will impair his performance for his country Portugal, I don't include Ronaldo among the best scorers of the World Cup.
Messi and Mbappe are my picks based on their league form, as well as how important both of them are to their national teams. Messi is a very talented player with experience who will be able to turn things around for his country, and Mbappe too will be among this world cup's top scorers.
Maybe for now but we may never know when the World Cup starts. The names that I list as I think will be one of the top scorers for sure but will there be another name that steal that spotlight? I don't know, World Cup has full of surprises and even now it's just exhilarating to anticipate the event this 20th, only a few more days from now.
