Although not exactly the first choice at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Portugal in the World Cup. With him as the captain, coach Fernando Santos announced the 26-member Portugal squad for the World Cup in Qatar. Portugal, who won the Euros in 2016, have yet to win the World Cup. Santos says, this team has that hunger, The players I have called, including Ronaldo, all have the hunger to win, the hunger to make Portugal the world champion. Portugal will start the World Cup with a match against Ghana on November 24 in Group H. Portugal will then play Uruguay on November 28, followed by South Korea on December 2.

People who supports Portugal are Ronaldo fans
People who supports Argentina are Lionel Messi fans
When making predictions like this it will be better if you sit on the fence and be neutral
Brazilians are not doing bad for this year though

You made me laugh, nothing special would happen in this world cup that has not been seen before. Truly, France is a good contender, and so is Portugal, but none of them would ever lift the cup, though one of them might be a runner-up eventually. As for the African teams, you should not dream further, none of them has a team good enough to lift the cup, and some of their star players are nursing injuries at the moment.

The toughest of the African team might reach the last 16, but not of them would play the semi-final.
Correct, if we were talking about an individual sport then a single person with a high enough level will be enough to claim a championship, but soccer is not only a team sport but one in which you need at least eleven players with a high enough level, and that amount of players with such a high level can only be trained in countries which have a long soccer tradition, it is because of this that countries like Brazil, Argentina or France not only make it to the world cup almost all the time but they are the favorites to win the tournament as well.

In my opinion, something can happen, but not for the title.
Like past World Cups, there were always a "surprise" squad.
I can remember last cup was Russia that reached quarters and Croatia 2nd place
In Brazil 2014 was Costa Rica, in quarter finals, and detail, a draw with Netherlands and only lost the game in penaltys.

I don't believe in Portugal too, they are very dependent on Cristiano Ronaldo, something like quarter finals is totally possible, but I don't see Portugal winning a squad like Brazil or Argentina.
Their group is not so hard, Portugal can classify in 1st place, but after that group H will face group G with Brazil, Cameroon, Switzerland or Serbia, so it's extremely important to classify at 1st for Uruguay or Portugal.

France I think it's more prepared to be the champion again, but not my favorite.
France is in an easy group and should classify at first, and after that will probably face Mexico as the 2nd place in group C (with Argentina in 1st place), a tough game but France have more chances to win than Mexico.

Argentina has been dry for a long time without a title at a world championship, the last title dates from 1986. But there are even more teams that have been dry for a long time, the Netherlands has never won the title and often belongs to the best teams in the world. Belgium has also belonged to the absolute world top for years, but in the 30 years before that it has never been very good. Maybe they can achieve something this time, for most players in Belgium this will be the last tournament (World Cup) they can participate in. A player like de Bruyne will surely want to become World Champion one day. Mbappe already has a title in his pocket.
Many of today's great players have never tasted a world cup title. Because the world cup is only held for 4 years. When compared to the average active period of a soccer player for 20 years, this means they can play 5 times. That is, the chance of getting a world cup title for each player is very small.

Ronaldo and Messi are the best players in the world who have won the most Ballon d'Or, but both of them have not succeeded in bringing their country to become world champions. The ambitions of the two players are very high in the 2022 world cup to complete their title, considering this is the last chance for them to play in the world cup.

Thank you for this update! Let me make my predictions of those who would make it from the group stage, I guess the outcome would be as mine. Even if it doesn't, I should still have about 95% accuracy. Group A: Ecuador and Netherlands, Group B: England and USA, Group C: Argentina and Saudi Arabia, Group D: France and Denmark, Group E: Spain and Germany (My favourite winners), Group F: Belgium and Croatia, Group G: Brazil and Cameroon and Group H: Portugal and Uruguay.
People will be surprised by this World Cup. The smaller squad will catch the larger team off guard. I've made the decision to hold off on making any predictions until after the first and second group stage legs.
I'll be rooting for France, the reigning champion, as well as Portugal, who I think will win the title. Currently, this is my favorite team. I'll be backing the entire African team as well. I'm anticipating a fantastic World Cup.

In fact, most of the football world cup fans think of Argentina as the favorite. One of the reasons for this is their performance this year, which is probably 35 matches unbeaten. Besides, all the players in their team are very much ahead in terms of confidence. At least for Messi, they need to win this World Cup.

Argentina acquired the players they require for the World Cup and is expected to win it this year. Not just Argentina, but also teams like Brazil and the reigning winners France still have a full team that can compete for the title. I predict that one of these three teams will win the World Cup, but who will have the advantage in reaching the World Cup finals will depend on how they boost team confidence. After a lengthy four-year wait, we’re hoping to watch another World Cup that's interesting.
This time, Argentina is considered as a little more favorite than the previous World Cups. One of the reasons could be, winning the Copa America title and winning the finalism, these two achievements will give the team confidence.

especially since argentina won the copa america for the first time in 2021 they should be strong enough to reach the quarter-/semifinals in qatar
Of course, with the players they bring, in terms of quality, they should be able to enter the quarterfinals. But right now I'm choosing Brazil to be my favorite for the championship.  Although currently france still brings a lot of players who are champions of the 2018 world cup, I don't feel sure they can win again for this time. But four years ago there were always surprises from non-seeded countries. Maybe for this year there will also be that event.

Ronaldo gaved the the Euros so i think he really can add a lot to the Portugal team. He won one big trophy with them the only trophy they are missing is the World Cup. It isnt easy to win but even with Ronaldos age he can bring a lot to the team. I think they will reach the quarters in this world cup
Ecactly, they won, quite unexpected, EURO 2016, but I doubt that they will reach far in the upcoming worldcup. Portugal mainly depends on Ronaldo (similar to other countries who rely on 1 top player) and they might reach the quarter finals but that will be it.
Right now anything is possible, and currently we have few teams which are looking not exceptional but can perform much better, so I have personal feeling Portugal can go into last eight which is good for them as they are having few good players which are capable of having tough challenge for any team their group position could be top which mean they will be having some better opponent Ronaldo and Messi both are going to end their careers and both are strongly looking for this cup but how things could be going to end no one have any perfect prediction, but mostly feeling is Portugal is capable of having position into last eight with their current form and quality.
That’s definitely good but at the end of the day does it really matter where you lose as long as you lose? I would rather lose in the groups than lose during the finals because it would be less pain at least. Losing 2 games and getting one win will surely make you not go up, that means you just lost 2 unimportant games and nobody cared and it’s all over for you.

On the other hand, you are going to win the group games, then win 16, then win quarter finals, then win semi finals, all of the nation watching, everyone spending God knows how much to see the finals, the whole world stops and watches you lose during the last 90 minutes. That sounds a lot worse to me.
The biggest thing is that we are now all excited about the football world cup. Every person has favorite football team and they are very optimistic about their team. Supporters of all teams will want their team to win the World Cup this year. Hopefully we will get some great gifts in this World Cup.

Mane may still be able to compete in the World Cup. And it's going to start pretty soon too, in just over a week. It is next bookmakers a match in which Ecuador is the favorite, but I think the Qatar team will start this match much brighter than Ecuador. I don't really know any players or well-known names from either country, so I'm going by Qatar's home advantage and the eagerness with which they play. The climber in Ecuador is about the same as in Qatar, so they won't benefit from that. For a long time, in fact, that Qatar had to wait from 2010 before the World Cup would be organized.

....
just Ghana is speculated as they can do good against South Korea and Uruguay which is also not sure.
Even those two are pretty tough teams. Maybe if Ghana was in group B hehe.

....The only issue that could see Brazil falter is their defensive capabilities, which may give the likes of Mbappe and France the opportunity for goals, but in the end Brazil will have too much firepower and will take the title in a World Cup final for the ages.
It's fine to fancy them because of their firepower but I prefer those with a more balance team. I actually think France has a better chance at winning the title than Brazil or Argentina because they have a good mix of youth and veterans. They probably better defensively as well.

What surprises you? I would even call the odds of CONMEBOL overpriced. If we focus on the statistics of the competition, then this region has been losing to Europe for a long time and steadily, so it is not surprising that their chances are less than those of Europe. As far as Africa is concerned, it's a fair chance of an obvious underdog - but sometimes even the underdogs win.
There are a total of 5 participants from the CAF confederation: Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia. Out of these 5 teams, I don't think that anyone except Senegal maybe capable of progressing to the second round. Even in case of Senegal, they need a draw against either Netherlands or Ecuador to have a chance of qualifying to the next round. And teams such as Morocco and Tunisia have virtually zero chance of second round qualification. The only factor that may favor them is the weather conditions in Qatar.
I am also feeling CAF teams having no chance this time because they are having tough groups even their quality is improving but still things are not good for them in this world cup which is surely looking for more improvement which will be happened in coming years as they are doing good work for the improvement of game in their region I was supporting Senegal for qualifying into next round but now with the injury of Sadio Mané I am feeling they also lost their chance with now Ecuador is better.

And they can go through into next round but still this is fair chance for both teams mostly other African teams are having not easy rounds just Ghana is speculated as they can do good against South Korea and Uruguay which is also not sure.

Let's say Ghana and Morocco really have little chance, but I'm sure in Senegal and is Cameroon really so bad that it won't be able to compete with Switzerland and Serbia, even as an underdog? The result in the group will be largely determined by the "favor" of Brazil, which may give someone a point and how many goals they score to competitors.
And here Cameroon is in the best position as they play Brazil (probably demotivated and already preparing for the next stage) in the last round of the group stage.

FIFA World Cup 2022 is the most memorable World Cup in history with the participation of 32 nations hosted by Qatar. Participating countries now have only one goal. That is winning the World Cup title. In this one of the most interesting sports in the sports arena, football fans also get an opportunity to watch their favorite team and favorite players give their hundred percent for their respective countries. In club football, where many stars are rivals, here they are teammates, and since it's the World Cup, the excitement of the World Cup is a bit high. It is natural that the teams that come to play in the World Cup are of the world's best or close to it. Not everyone can make it to the main event beyond the tough hurdles of qualifiers. A shining example of Italy, one of the superpowers of world football, which has been knocked out of the World Cup for the last two times.
