What surprises you? I would even call the odds of CONMEBOL overpriced. If we focus on the statistics of the competition, then this region has been losing to Europe for a long time and steadily, so it is not surprising that their chances are less than those of Europe. As far as Africa is concerned, it's a fair chance of an obvious underdog - but sometimes even the underdogs win.

There are a total of 5 participants from the CAF confederation: Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia. Out of these 5 teams, I don't think that anyone except Senegal maybe capable of progressing to the second round. Even in case of Senegal, they need a draw against either Netherlands or Ecuador to have a chance of qualifying to the next round. And teams such as Morocco and Tunisia have virtually zero chance of second round qualification. The only factor that may favor them is the weather conditions in Qatar.

Portugal have good players and can't wait to see their incredible spectacular. They have a sharp Frontlines involving an experience striker like Cristiano Ronaldo who's not ready to give and also finds himself in a situation to always delivered his team interms of facing tough countries. I believe Portugal will go far this season, because on the contrary new plus are added to the team and I guess it doesn't affect the team. Fully hopes it's the last world cup for their idol, Ronaldo.

Portugal always dissapoints in these events even with Ronaldo.  They just never have enough pieces to compete at a high level in major events.  Tes can focus on shilutting down Christians without given too much up on the rest of the team.  Last go around so I hope they make it far for his sake but I don't see it.

Ronaldo gaved the the Euros so i think he really can add a lot to the Portugal team. He won one big trophy with them the only trophy they are missing is the World Cup. It isnt easy to win but even with Ronaldos age he can bring a lot to the team. I think they will reach the quarters in this world cup

I think they can get out of the groups, but I don't think they can make much progress.  They will play a tough group match against Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea.  From this group, I think they will go to the next round with Uruguay, but I can't make any predictions about how far they can go from there.  Cristiano must be fully motivated for the world cup.  Because Cristiano is one of Portugal's greatest weapons.

Portugal mainly depends on Ronaldo (similar to other countries who rely on 1 top player) and they might reach the quarter finals but that will be it.

Naturally, because Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the experienced strikers in the current Portugal main squad. Moreover, on several occasions Portugal was seen implementing a 4-2-3-1 formation which gave Ronaldo the freedom to move as a Central Forward. Portugal's level of dependence on Ronaldo may still continue in this year's world cup even though cristiano ronaldo's age has enter 37 this year

Fans supporting different teams have started to organise rallies around Qatar. Mostly Indians (working in Qatar) have already conducted rallies supporting Argentina, Brazil and England wearing the colours of the respective teams. This being the first world cup in Arab nation and in South Asia. Qatar doesn't allow for rallies and all have allowed it and this have turned to be more enjoyable for the football fans in Qatar.

Ecactly, they won, quite unexpected, EURO 2016, but I doubt that they will reach far in the upcoming worldcup. Portugal mainly depends on Ronaldo (similar to other countries who rely on 1 top player) and they might reach the quarter finals but that will be it.

Spain has a strong but above all young selection. That was the idea from a few years ago, when it was consciously decided to keep players like Sergio Ramos out of the selection. That young team from Spain then wiped Germany off the field, but of course we don't know how it will go at this World Cup. The 2018 World Cup was a big disappointment, they will certainly want to take revenge. Spain is a rich and large football country with the clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona, but they have only become 1x world champion in 2010. Strange really, for such a large football country with one of the strongest competitions worldwide.

Little disappointed with Spain squad for World Cup, there are many best player not listed in Spain squad and Luis Enrique most priority with Barcelona player dominance, have 7 Barcelona player name in squad list and I don't think they are in the top performance, actually have several player not get regular position with their team and have less minutes playing. I think Thiago have better level perform than Sergio Busquet but not get chance to play with Spain in World Cup.

I don't think why there not have Sergio Ramos after get regular position with PSG in this season, not only with Ramos but also I think De Gea and Thiago as big question have asking to Luis Enrique why prefer choose with Brentford and Brighton Albion goals keeper than De Gea.
I don't think Luis Enrique made a blunder or was joking about the selection of players to be brought to Qatar this time around, but he has considered his decision wisely. There are some surprising names in the Spanish squad this time, both those who passed the selection or those who didn't. Busquets, Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres didn't really contribute much for Barcelona, but Luis Enrique still has faith in them.

Luis Enrique seems to have forgotten some of the other players who were not called up in the Spain squad such as De Gea, Thiago Alcantara and Ramos deserved a place.
De Gea Always playing regularly with Manchester United he is also a regular player for the Spanish national team, Ramos also deserves a place compared to Eric Garcia who is not a starter in the Barcelona squad. Thiago Alcantara is a talented midfielder, he has been a driving force in Liverpool's midfield since last season.

Luis Enrique picking his favorite instead of picking the players that will represent the country with excellent performance. Although the players he choose are better but dropping some key ones are also shocking like Sergio Ramos and Thiago. Choosing Sergio Busquest over Thiago is consider one of his worst mistakes because Busquest can not be performing the duty he was doing in their last 2018 world cup. Barcelona players dominating the country squad is totally unacceptable but it's the coach choice, let's see if there would be possible positive results.

France will have little trouble getting through the group.
Australia, Denmark and Tunisia are not much better than France, so France's chances of qualifying for the group stage are much greater than the others. France is already one step ahead in the group stage, considering that Group D is Australia, Denmark and Tunisia. The only country that passed the group D phase was France.

Messi wants to do anything to win his last world championship.
Messi is the best player, but on the pitch Messi can't play football alone. So we need to look at the ability of the team as a whole. I think Argentina is much more difficult than France to qualify for the group stage. The average Argentine player played in a club that does not qualify for the last 16 of the champions league.

For now, Lucas Paqueta and Richarlison are only on the extended list of football players for the World Cup, and whether they will actually perform depends on their health condition or recovery from their injuries.
From what I have read on sports portals, it seems that Richarlison's injury is more serious and his chances of playing in the World Cup are much less.
Likewise, it is still possible that until the start of the World Cup, another player will be injured, in training or playing friendly or preparatory matches for the World Cup. You never know what can happen.
Yes, you're right about that, but even so, these players are likely to go to the World Cup, even if they don't participate in the first games!

Changing the subject...
I am extremely confused, Dani Alves has been selected to go to this World Cup.

but unfortunately the performance of Dani Alves these days is terrible.
Several people and fans are incredulous that he was called up, and I have no doubt that there are better players than him to go to the Cup.

Guys, we are close to start of another World Cup and I would like to ask you a question! Are you also looking forward to the start of this World Cup in Qatar?
The long-anticipated world cup is in a few days, although it came at the wrong time when some players are not invited to play for their country because of injuries they developed in their various clubs.

Am looking forward to seeing Ronaldo and Messi's best performance in their last world cup. At least let Ronaldo proves his capacity once again in the world cup whether to quit football totally or continue

And what about betting? Will you also bet during these games that we will have in the future in this World Cup?
What is your opinion?
I will but I would only bet after I  have seen the countries that qualify out of their group stage. Betting now will be difficult for me when I can't fathom how well a country can perform with their players at the beginning of world cup matches

Most selections are now known for the World Cup. At first glance I don't see many surprises. France has so many good players that players have not been selected who would belong to the selection of any other team. How has France suddenly become so good in recent years? For 2018 it was actually not great and they only have in 1998? to win the world championship. Perhaps a batch has just emerged that are all exceptional. And Mbappe, it's hard to describe how good it is. France will have little trouble getting through the group. Messi wants to do anything to win his last world championship.

As one of the most senior and most experienced member of the team, Cristiano Ronaldo is heading to his fifth World Cup. Because of his experience, he is under a lot of pressure from his fans to win the World Cup under his wing. It depends on how the team works together whether they win or lose. Lots of young talented players in their squad, waiting for an opportunity to shine at the international level. It's even Cristiano's hope it will be a beautiful ending.
It's not just Cristiano ronaldo who wants to end his career on a gold note by winning the world cup this time. The same will happen to his rival as a player, namely Lionel Messi. The Argentine captain will also get the same ambition from himself as well as from his supporters in order to become the champion this time. Argentina also has a lot of good young players as well as Portugal, even now I hear a lot of people making Argentina the favorites to win the title. The competition will definitely be very tough considering this is the World Cup, and also a lot of surprises that will happen here. It won't be easy to do something extraordinary at the end of the careers of the two best players in the world. If they want to win this competition then they must have a team with excellent chemistry and teamwork.
However, Argentina's supporters are more hopeful this time. Because the Argentina team is much stronger than before. Everyone in the team has confidence. The biggest issue is that this is Messi's last World Cup. So everyone in the team will want to at least win the title for him.

People will be surprised by this World Cup. The smaller squad will catch the larger team off guard. I've made the decision to hold off on making any predictions until after the first and second group stage legs.
I'll be rooting for France, the reigning champion, as well as Portugal, who I think will win the title. Currently, this is my favorite team. I'll be backing the entire African team as well. I'm anticipating a fantastic World Cup.
Well if European teams perform in World Cup the way they did in Nations League then it will be a drama for them there. I find the overall performance and skills for European teams lower than the past. Conmebol teams have the same skills even though the quality of their players is different. African teams can go to the next stage but not further. Senegal and Ghana could pass imo since their groups are somehow easier comparing to the others. Morocco might get a chance although it looks a bit harder.

Thank you for this update! Let me make my predictions of those who would make it from the group stage, I guess the outcome would be as mine. Even if it doesn't, I should still have about 95% accuracy.
