This is indeed the first time the world cup is going to be played in that part of the world and I think it is also the first time that it is going to be played on winter, and this is because Qatar is so hot during the summer that the organizers thought it was a better idea for the tournament to be played at winter instead, and this is going to change everything as many players will have to change their training regimes in order to get to the top of their level on winter, when most of the time they prepare for this to happen at the summer or autumn at the latest.

For the players it should not be a concern. Because most of them are are participating in club championships around the world, such as the English Premier League. In fact some of the top club sides wanted the FIFA to postpone the tournament, so that their championship leagues could happen without much disruption. So the fitness levels should not be a concern, although adjusting to the weather conditions in Qatar can be one of the topics for scrutiny. For experienced players, this should not be a big worry as players such as Messi and Ronaldo have played around the world in different climatic conditions.

the world cup is only held every 4 years so i think people are obviously waiting for this to bet and i am also including going to make a bet on this event, even though my country didn't qualify for the world cup, but i support several countries to bet on later, we know not only online gambling and even land-based gambling will be crowded when this event starts, usually people bet for it
Interesting your observations!

I also share the same idea, even in this year's World Cup being on a different date from previous editions, it could be a watershed/game changer.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe, this 2022 World Cup will be held for the first time in history in a country in the Middle East with Muslim traditions.

Why does everyone think that having fun have to include breaking laws? If something is forbidden then don't do it. If drinking alcohol in Qatar is illegal, do something else. I'm sure we will see many news about foreign fans getting arrested for breaking their laws.

It's just a clash of cultures.

Anywhere in the western world you can have a girlfriend and kiss her or hug her in public, whereas in Qatar that same thing can put you in jail. Seriously.

Also women cannot show their shoulders, so even in the extreme heat there they must cover.

There are many rules there that you might not even know are illegal coming from a western country and you might end up in jail for just living a normal life in your own country.
But actually Qatar as the host has given a special policy regarding the implementation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And I appreciate that. and Qatar will surely make all visitors can have fun even with certain limitations.

And speaking of the World Cup then the countdown to the start is only 19 days from now. everyone was looking forward to it.

There will be a special policy implemented for visitors to the World Cup in Qatar soon. Approximately 1.8 million visitors will be welcomed, the vast majority from western countries. During the World Cup, Qatar has specific entry requirements and instructions, so here's what you need to know. If Qatar makes the events successful, the whole world will appreciate them.

While watching the games many people end up kissing, or hugging, etc, that's a pretty standard experience.

That will be illegal in Qatar.

Fans won't be able to enjoy. If they want to celebrate their team's win, first they need to think about whether what they do is illegal in Qatar or not. Unmarried couples can't even stay in the same room, as such relationships are considered as adultery in Qatar (punishable by death). Anyway, I would advise women not to travel to Qatar, given their patriarchal rules. Still, there will be die-hard fans who want to watch the matches live rather than watching them on the TV. Such fans need to take careful precautions.

Qatar is a Muslim country and you cannot drink alcohol or involve in activities like strip clubs publicly. This may be done hiddenly to some extent but there are some restrictions and the visitors have to comply with the local laws.

But does this mean Qatar will not attract visitors during the FIFA world cup ? I don't think so because those people who travel to another country to watch matches are more interested to witness a football match and least interested in things which they can do in their own country. In hotels, they may get all the facilities but not publicly.

I want to talk about the rules in Qatar for visitors who got use to have a lot of outside the stadium brfore or after and during matches, we got use to hooligans and European fans that drinks a lot of alcohol and go to the stadium, i want to say that this year in Qatar it’s different, drinking might be limited or even forbidden in public places some hotels may give some limited drinks for each person.
Also there will be no much women for fun and free sex Xd, Qatar is an islamic county and all inappropriate scenes and behaviors will be totally forbidden. The question is will the fans have fun like that with this inhabituel rules
I think with the strict rules Qatar exhibit it will cause them to miss some opportunities. Any country that is opportune to host the fifa World get financial benefit from visitors. People who travel to watch world cup always have plans for other activities but since Qatar is a strict country it will decrease how visitors will spend money to have fun.

Of course the government of Qatar would have to relax some of its policies in order to host the world at their home.
This is the reason why i and many other people were not happy when FIFA announced that Qatar would be hosting the 2022 world cup, Qatar is not a country that has any history in football and their society can be one that will not be accommodating to the world based on the strict policies and rules in their country and the weather there in this period. I hope the fans and players will have a nice time in Qatar and everything will go on fine; but i wish the next world cups will be hosted in countries that are better to host it, so the schedule will benefit the players not like this year's tournament.
Qatar world cup is claimed to have the lowest interest in the last few years, they put strict rules such as prohibiting alcohol and unmarried couples are not allowed to share a room

to be honest people who watch the world cup come from countries that are quite liberating that's all, I'm sure tourists visiting Qatar will be very quiet and the capital issued by Qatar will not return

i know qatar claims to want to keep the morale clean of their guests and their country but open-minded people will feel that is a constraint

Talking about this topic of tradition and habits, I believe thebmost people already knew that several things could happen, because Qatar is a Muslim country, such as its customs related to religion.
I'm not criticizing the Muslim religion, but in fact they are extremely strict on several points.
I don't know if this will actually be the first and last world cup in Qatar, because they are extremely strict, especially in religion and beliefs

Forbthe fact that Qatar is a Muslim country doesn't mean that there are not enough Western citizens living good there, the country is such that appreciate commonness in sport, business, economy and political aspirations, they have a good codial with the Eastern and Western Union, hosting the world cup is another big opportunity for it make make fame, tourist, economy and sport adventure for hosting such, it's a privilege i believed they wouldn't want to abuse, Qatar has also developed more interest in football and sports in general to have received this rare privilege for hosting, they have the best suitable stadium, good and serene environment and other attraction that geard it preference as choice for 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP.
But there are a few things which are not allowed on the muslim land. That is alcohol being dealt publicly - adults being legal and gambling and casinos are permitted in the muslim country - so everything will be happening in Qatar.
This World Cup is going to be the best World Cup in history. Qatar has made various regulations to make this World Cup a success. By following the rules, the World Cup will be magnificent. In fact, such a big event, we all should follow the rules to make the event successfu.
To give the best comfort to the global audience more changes have been made by the Qatar government. For alcohol there happened a big discussion and the country have changed their policy. Apart from this, the government have arranged the best accomodation facilities for every level of people. It means one can visit Qatar to watch the game at a much lower price.
Of course the government of Qatar would have to relax some of its policies in order to host the world at their home. It would be thrilling to behold the spectacle they have made out of desert lands. Most advantageous is that prices will be distributed according to ones pocket. Can't wait !

I do not understand your point. There are muslim countries like Saudia Arab and Iran which Play football. Even in other Muslim countries football is being played though they are unable to qualify for the world cup as we know every continent has some quota and only the top teams qualify for the world cup.

I fail to understand the link between Football & religion and how Muslims are affected by it ? If you can explain a bit, it will be better to understand for everyone.
I guess that @gagux123 probably meant due to the strict rules of conduct, drinking and general behavior of fans. Although Qatar has introduced some concessions on the sale of beer at stadiums, for example, it is generally clear that there will not be such freemen and a carnival as in Brazil.
But Qatar is quite a safe country, which seems to have invested about 100 billion in the holding of this World Cup and not only in stadiums, but also in the general infrastructure(roads, metro station etc) so in this regard, the fans should not have problems.

This tournament did get a lot of publicity with things that weren't even about football. Actually, the tournament has gotten a bad name. In a way I think that's a shame, because nowhere do teams now have so much luxury and comfort as in Qatar. The things that have happened are absolutely unacceptable, but the tournament will continue anyway, I hope the focus is on football during the tournament and not on peripheral matters. I also don't know to what extent teams and players will be influenced by all the media. they will of course ask different questions whether players like to play under these conditions with regard to human rights etc.

I'm sure that coaches will try their best to keep their players focused on the tournament. But the players will surely listen to the news and they will be affected by any bad news. I just hope there won't be a lot of bad things happening around the stadiums when matches will be played. I just hope that players won't be getting into problems with local authorities which would result in them not being able to play.

As I have no good and solid updates about this all but still I am searching and checking few things which are going to be working into Qatar during this event and after checking many sites and details I have feeling most chances we will be not having any serious threat for visitors because they are also having all information's and details how to handle things during this event which is surely matter of prestigious for this country and region as now they could be first Muslim country who is going to hold event like this.

They are doing good work for having better facilities for tourists and fans of countries which are here and want to stay in tough about domestic rules and FIFA is also concerned about this and want to clear all doubts, hopefully all will be clear soon.

The problem is that when a person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he probably won't care about what he read about stuff that are normal elsewhere but forbidden in Qatar. That's where I see the real problem. I just hope that local authorities won't be that strict about visitor's behavior.

It will definitely affect the football itself.

Already we're seeing teams changing their gear colors to make a statement about Qatar's treatment of migrant workers:

World Cup 2022: Denmark to wear 'toned down' jerseys in protest at hosts Qatar

This world cup will have some controversies inside and outside the field.
